Sunday evenings have long taken on a special meaning. This was so enjoyable to watch and I thought that idea of spreading the ring on the screwdriver, heating and letting fall into the oil was really genius! Thanks for all your efforts to share this with us, John.

I'm always learning from you John--I had no idea slitting saws were supposed to be run so slowly. Thanks again!

I have the same rev counter but with the big rubber wheel missing, and the box is basically matches, it's that knackered. I wish I had Bob's patience and ability to restore it.

OMG!! at 13:16 I have a cast iron surface plate too. Thought I was the only one. Looks just like yours. Mine is in storage on a shelf though because I use the granite one.

Hi, we are cutting piston rings in cast iron on a okuma lathe. Ang suggestions on cutting tools, speeds and feeds, coolant use? Thank you

As much as screwdrivers aren't (officially) chisels, punches or prybars, they never said anything about tapered mandrels!
