  • This is my honest take on Black Desert Online. After playing this game for 8700 hours and reaching 730 gear score, I can say that you should atleast try and play Black Desert Online. The game is not perfect but it is worth the try.

Any sandbox MMO can be played casual and is worth playing. You can do what ever you like, at your own pace. I hit 708 GS (with still weaing TET BS main, DUO Godr awaken) in 6 months with out breaking sweat. I can almost afford to buy 2 PEN BS, too.

A very good video. Exactly 0 things I've heard in it that I can argue with or do not agree with. Also nearly if not exactly 0 things I can possibly add as realistic arguments for why a person that haven`t tried it up to now for one reason or another (Fresh on PC in General, Done with previous Mmorpg, somehow haven`t heard of BDO until now 0_0, it`s 10 year old game by now, that`d be hard to have happened) should try it (and a lil bit of wallet, which might be a problem for some young gamers, even thou I assume most people these days, unlike me back on their age, study hard so that they don`t have to work hard and still earn top $ out of their time, unlike me... I were playing ton of PC games during most of my school time and now my life is neither "normal" nor easy). It only angst me how you are 730 GS for 3 years and I am slightly sub 700 for 7 years :P But my PC was crap for a long time and I also do a lot of side activities on the PC and my IRL time is not the freeest, of course free time actually is a matter of money for the most part... well and other things, but mostly is something you need to be able to afford and I ... cannot afford nearly as much as I'd like of it... not even close... Unfortunate... but it might have something to do with that ton of PC games in the school years and a bunch of stuffs later on. It can even also starts out of my "point of origin" in life... Maybe people who were born into families with real fat bank accounts have no idea what or why am I even talking about... Maybe I don`t know what I am talking about... I also don`t care much tbh...

If you don't like long term progress, if u like to complain a lot, and youre lazy to read walls of text.. then don't bother playing this game..
BDO is a sandbox mmo and if you don't set a goal you'll end up quitting early.. also if you play games to escape reality then BDO will remind you of real life.. atleast on the rng system of the game.. but if you're lucky ingame and irl.. then good for you.

I think most bdo players who claim its a sandbox dont really know what a sandbox mmo actually is lol.

i play like 6 -7 month now and can you beginner give this short advice. finish your first questline (orange) while lvling up your gear from naru up to tuvala V (PEN), lvl you class to 60 at desert naga or polly, then start grinding your treasure items. you dont have to leave season server for the most of them and while grinding them you will get some money and you have enough time to learn about the game trust me ^^. ps: go for infinite pots first

Without a good story, all the grind seems pointless. I don't play PvP, so I'm asking myself what I can do when I have 700 gs.

Play different characters and try out their skills and combos.

I'm going to be real, nothing here makes it sound very compelling if you don't like PvP and want to PvE. The combat might be great, but it sounds like the only thing you do is grind in circles, mentioning world bosses are not worth it.On the topic of world bosses, they were a joke when I played years ago, they were just zerged rushed by hundreds of players till death, no strategy or anything, a punching bag. I was hopping the dungeons would be cool content to do with a party, I'm disappointed to hear they are boring.
BDO might have great combat, but if the only thing you do is grind groups of mobs over and over.... is that all there is to it? why do you want to improve your gear score in this game? Is it really just to grind higher level mobs? In other games your goal improving your gear is to beat a raid/boss, in other words, to experience new high difficulty content, is there anything like that in BDO?

Yeah, there is. The new zone introduce the Black Shrine bosses, they are bosses with real mechanics that you fight solo (soon to be added a guild version of it) and they have increasing difficult which generates better rewards overtime. There are 10 different bosses as of now that you can fight. But yeah, this is not the main content, if you dont like grinding in circles then you probably wont like bdo, BDO to me feels like more a hack n slash game than anything else, like a diablo/poe in a trully mmo enviroment

I think you gave it a good classification in saying that it's a hack n slash in an mmo environment.@@Rankiry
I played bdo for about 2 years and it really has no compelling end game. Life skilling seems to be the most thought out part of the whole game.

This game is dead. In order for you to succeed in this game, you either have to make this game as your primary job, be extremely lucky and hope that the RNG Gods don't break your accessories, or grind your butt off and no-life this game. The problem with PA is that when you succeed in the way that they don't want you to, they will nerf the game and make it more difficult to succeed.
The perfect example is earning at least 1 billion silver per hour at centaurs. It was a very popular spot until it got nerfed. Now you can only make on average 500+ million silver per hour. This excludes items that you can sell on the market. There are only two classes that I've seen that can still earn 1 billion an hour. With the Berserker, you have to use a different location instead of the main rotation. The other class is a either an awakening or succession Musa with very high amount of stamina. Other than that, other classes can't compete. Before, on the main rotation, 1 billion silver was possible. I'm sure a lot of low-lives complained and PA decided to nerf it. PA bows down to certain people. Plus, the enhancement system in this game sucks. You will lose tens of billions if not hundreds of billions of silver if you try to enhance to get end game gear.

Toe-May-Toe / Toe-Mah-Toe - Do you want to experience great combat grinding in circles, or do you want to experience great combat fighting a single boss for 10 minutes? The focus is on the great combat. Players can do with it what they want.
The "Boss Rush" mode in LoML is a solo player challenge that is extremely hard on its highest difficulty and there are ~12 available bosses.

    • @CyborgNinjaJesus
      @CyborgNinjaJesus 3 місяці тому

@@stwida91 That boss rush mode sounds interesting, wish it would be for a small party but still, solo challenge works for me.
As for the combat, well,I know what you mean but I barely consider grinding combat. As the name implies, when you "grind" you are just chewing through hundreds of mobs as fast as possible, it's more of a mindless chore than any type of engaging encounter where you have to react to the enemy attacks and fight them. You are just murdering mobs that are essentially punching bags.
And for the record, I have 1700h on BDO from when I played years ago, I liked the game but felt it had a lot of wasted potential when it came to the combat, those boss challenges sound just what I wanted though.

@@alexcarare9779 Well 5k hours into a "shit" game is paradoxical. You can't play something bad for 5k hours. All players have that syndrome apparently. Once you quit a game after playing it for lots of hours, you suddenly feel its "shit". It is a game after all.
