I just found out Medicaid now cover this for adults. I was suppose have this done as child but my dads insurance said no was experimental at time. I waited 30 years for another chance. Tears streaming down my face. I deaf in my left ear. And have some hearing loss in my right
I'm really scared and I'm really nervous because I'm going to get my Cochlear implant on January 14th and I'm totally deaf in my left ear and I'm losing all my hearing in my right ear and I'm qualify to get my cochlear implant surgery on January 14th and I'm only 46 years old

yes! they make a big whooshing sound, and when the windshield is dry they sound like "duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh" you'll feel it if you put your hand on there lol
My wife has had her implant for two years. It has changed both our lives for the better. This is no marketing video. It is for real. And in Ontario, Canada, patients pay nothing. Insurance pays nothing. It is all paid for by the provincial health plan.
This is fostering language deprivation. I see that the purpose of this video to promote the implementation of cochlear implants on Deaf children. I don't look cochlear implant as a negative thing but depriving American Sign Language from Deaf children is the worst thing that you can do. Not providing language access to children is equal to mental abuse and emotional neglect. I have many family members of mine who are victim of language deprivation and communication neglect and it still deeply impact them even if they are over 50s. I am begging you as a Deaf person who uses ASL on daily basis to please teach ASL to your children.

They're a pleasant family, the kind of people I'd like to know. I'd like to know how music sounds to Carol.
This is a marketing video. I wish it was a real review of what to expect after cochlear implant surgery.
What are the real stuff about the surgery?
I agree with you 👍👍

Nah cochlear implant is always work for me. I talked with a lot of hearing people. There is no problem. 🙂
Too many hearing parents refused to learn ASL unless Cued Speech (Cued Language Transliteration)
