I had my Cochlear implant at John Hopkins (thank you Dr. Francis) in 1999. The internal still works the external sadly was not longer working 90% of the time. I did get a new processor but they have not been able to synchronize like the older model. I’m in the process of trying to get an upgrade. I’m actually looking forward to this, we have come along way as far as technology goes since 1999. Thank you John Hopkins for giving us back a part of ourselves. God blessed you all.

The original captions are excellent; the Dragon software being imposed over the original captioning is crappy. So, I just eliminated the secondary captioning. Wonderful original captioning. Word for word, it's perfect. I detest Dragon..

+Mary Yamada Well, almost perfect. "Your" should be spelled "You are", of course. Can't have everything. Also, setting off metal detectors is an older thing; I haven't experienced that one in many years.

Also with the newer models you can go into the water wearing it so definitely a plus. The one I’m currently using my upgrade speech processor does come with a water proof case and the microphone is water proof so I have been able to wear at the pool/ beach
