you didn't say the model number of the ukulele. I'm curious as to what it is. Ohana has a couple of bass instruments. I really like the sound of that one. It does have a genuinely upright bass sound that's cool and jazzy swinging.

Have you tried Kala's U-basses? Can't decide whether I should choose Ohana or Kala(

HereticJudgment yes, i have even gigged with a u-bass i borrowed from a friend. the U-basses are cool, but a bit more of a gimmick in my opinion. They are next to useless unless plugged in, they are very quiet acoustically. Their very short scale makes them quite hard to keep in tune on fretless models. The rubber strings sound a lot like an upright, but can stick to your fingers, they get fairly annoying to play after a while, after one gig the novelty had worn off, the player i borrowed it from felt pretty much the same way. They do produce a great, booming bass tone, but the Ohana has really excellent electronics onboard and is a much more versatile instrument. All in all the u-bass is a cool toy, whereas the Ohana is one of the best sounding bass instruments I’ve ever owned, period. They do cost a bit more than a typical u-bass, but it’s well worth it IMO.

mipmipmipmipmip haha, I will say there's really no sound device this bass sounds bad through :) the battery powered PA's I use are the Behringer MPA40-Bt (for acoustic only/friend jams) and the Roland BA-330 (for most professional functions; I have a pair of them, if that's not loud enough, the gig requires a generator and true bass amp).
