Asking what the name of Clouds sword is right after using the term Buster Sword multiple times is amazing. Especially since Buster Sword isn't some generic term for Big sword, that is specifically the name of Clouds sword.
Asian fan here. The thing about asian warrior/swordsman mentality is, you don't ever go full strength against someone so much weaker as you like how you don't go all out against a kid, secondly adapting to your opponent strength can be used as training to make you stronger (you can't get stronger if you one shot someone), example of these in other anime are: ichigo refusing to use bankai against the ex espada dude, goku not going full strength at the start in most of their fights, or the anime troupe where the person gets angry because their opponent aren't going all out (being seen as weaker), unless it's an urgent situation when you need to cut down your opponent asap and move on, which zoro probably didn't notice the urgency of the situation.
The annoying thing was the fans saying stuff like " lucci is a pre timeskip villain, so he should be one shotted " like no , its not that simple . Lucci was one of the pre timeskip villains that really fucked up luffy in their fight and tanked alot of attacks before being defeated . " luffy and zoro trained their ass off duirng those 2 years " ok and you thought lucci was just sitting on his ass during that time , he was training to of course .
that's the odd part of the power scalers it's like after someone is defeated that character is not aloud to train and get stronger anymore why is it only the main cast that can grow? why must every villain be "at their peak" whenever they are incounterd? or like when some of them claim that if Kaido ever showed up again that Luffy should be able to basically 2 tab the guy 1v1 ignoring how much help Luffy had or how hard that battle was on Luffy the first time i swear some fans are fucking high of their ass when it comes to this
Its not cause he's a pre ts villain. Its cause Zoro has feats that put him in the calliber of doing that. Like Zoro managed to permanently Injure Kaido in his hybrid form. Remember Kaido is mf that already has ancient Zoan lvl durability even without his df and this was in his hybrid form. Plus Zoro was on his last breath with a whole bunch of his bones broken when he did it. This is a almost fresh Zoro with almost no wounds. Sure Lucci is strong but he has not shown enough feats to be able tank more than 2 acoc attacks. Plus unlike fists, swords do lethal damage. Lucci is strong but having acoc puts the character that has it in a whole different league compared to one that doesn't have it. Luffy went from barely holding up to scraping in base form for a while after he unlocked acoc. It is a power reserved only for literally the cream of the crop of fighters.
I feel like Mihawk probably taught Zoro a similar lesson as Rayleigh taught Luffy; The only way to develop your Haki past the basics is to fight strong opponents as much as possible. So I feel like whenever Zoro gets a chance to fight a strong opponent like an awakened Lucci he tries to get as much out of it as he can. I am assuming Zoro doesn't know about the Gorosei and all the other stuff happening elsewhere on the island, but I could be wrong.
To be fair, if he can feel haki then I’m sure he’d be able to feel that the gorosei have 5x god tier haki nearby and Lucci has comparatively lil bitch baby haki

What Oda said wasn't specifically about the One Piece. He just said that, if fans guessed a plot twist of revelation, *ANY* of them, he would change it. I'm jumping in pandoras box now that it's open. My opinion on Zoros eye is that he got cursed by the sandai kitetsu, so he is keeping his eye closed until he can use a specific technique against Mihawk.
Zoro Eye Theory: What if during their fight with the Blackbeard pirates BB use some kind of darkness world. Creating a sphere of pure darkness. Like in the days of the pirates they would keep one eye cover for when they go below deck to fight. Zoro could use the scar eye to see better in the darkness to get an even playing ground. (all of this plus probably stored observation haki in some way)
I won’t argue that Zorro was messing around or could’ve been in Lucci earlier, but my question is why during such a serious moment? I’m not going to put Sanji’s Vegapunk fumble on Zorro’s hands, but I will say if he stopped messing around earlier, and had Sanji’s back, things may have turned out different.
This is my exact thought. Why would Zoro be playing around while his crew is under attack and VP is murdered? I think the playing around thing is just Zoro stan power scalers coping about his struggle. A lot of people thought Zoro was much closer to Luffy than he is. G5 broke that dynamic.
This was obvious stalling from Oda and it was a fumble. Its okay to think that the author made a mistake sometimes. Like stalling isn't bad but this was a bit too far .

@obmis_arraid219 it's a case of both sides having wildly different win Cons. Zoro had to beat Lucci to win while Lucci just had to not loose. And on of those goals is significantly harder than the other.
It made me tear up a bit to think about Oda reminding us of characters that haven't shown up in a while. He loves his story so much, I can't imagine how overwhelming it must feel to have so many people around the world remember every little detail and character.
Something I love about Oda saying "I should probably figure out what the One Piece is" is that that is SUCH a writer's thing, 'cause sometimes you have the ending reveal in mind for the longest time, but then things change in your story so much that you gotta just go with the new stuff and re-piece things together.
Zoro has always either used fights to train or has been critically injured during fights. In this case you can pick either one, coming of the near death experience in Wano, or testing his base strength with two swords, etc.

Sailors supposedly wore eyepatches to preserve night vision in one eye for going below decks Id love him to have a fight where the lights go out and he just switches which eye is closed without explanation or significance.
From what I understand, pirates often wore eye patches so that if they were raiding another ship and went belowdecks in the middle of a battle, they'd be able to acclimate to the dark by taking that patch off quickly and have some "night vision" on the fly. What if this is how Zoro is able to see an invisible opponent? Training his observation haki like that?
Dead Man's Game/Ashura mode feels like the birth of a new Demon akin to the Gorosei's abilities. Where they manifest a Demonic form that suites their ideals/fighting styles. And Zoro's Ashura form may be Zoro's final form itself, like a Devil Fruit awakening, it manifests through Haki alone. It'll be interesting to see as the series continues if this will be the case or not
To be fair, Luffy and Zoro have always loved to fight - not to defeat opponents, the fighting itself. They don't go all out against weaklings. They like to see what the opponent can do and enjoy the fight as much as they can - which is also why they often end up in really bad situations. Could he have picked something from Mihawk? Yes. But even without that, it would be uncharacteristic for Zoro to go all out against weaker opponents.
My favourite idea I had for what the one piece treasure is it's a giant barrel of alcohol for the biggest party on the planet. They wanted to age it just right and it wasn't quite enough time when roger turned up so they couldn't open it just yet and that's why everyone was laughing.
We can easily tell Zoro has been holding back, actually . Did we all forget that Zoro has a whole form that he doesn't use. The same form that was able to temporarily outpace and overpower Kaido, that being Ashura. Zoro has been holding back since a pre time skip . Holding back literally uses Koh with Lucci also literally coming back from his injuries from gear five Luffy,stussy sapping him,and fighting the sepharims

I follow the theory that the Wado Ichimonji is a cursed blade. It killed Kuina, since it's been stated cursed blades kills unworthy/weak users. Zoro almost succumbed to the curse over the timeskip, but was strong enough that it only managed to take his eye. I like this theory because I'm interested to see how Zoro would react if he found out the sword he took to honour his friend was actually the weapon that took her life.

I'm always happy to watch you discuss Zoro Tekking. It seems with the most recent chapter maybe Zoro will get some more insight into black blades with Saint Ethan running around the island the two of them may run into each other. Secondly I'm really wish we could get more flashbacks with Zoro's training with Mihawk.

As far as what the One Piece is, the only thing that's outright been confirmed is that Oda isn't going to pull a "the treasure is the friends and experiences that happened along the journey" trope. Like, yeah, that can definitely be a part of it. But there is something physical waiting at Laughtale.
What if it's a case where Zoro, during the time skip (his training period under Mihawk) received the wound on his left eye, but unlike many other injuries and scars he got during that time, this one was a very close call. As in, his eye was almost destroyed but saved by a hairs length or through sheer dumb luck. We all know that the eye is one of the more sensitive organs of a human body and since his almost lost his eye, it could be a case where Mihawk told Zoro to consider that his eye is lost and that he should continue on his journey without using that one eye (Samurai honor and all that bs). Mihawk might have also told him that it would act as a constant state of training as well, and then, when the day comes for Zoro to face Mihawk, Mihawk will allow Zoro to open his left eye to fight him. As far as what difference it would make, in short (and of course in my personal/subjective opinion) I think that it would massively increase the potency/upper potential of his observation Haki, simply because he would then have access to his entire optic nerves system. which would skyrocket his overall Haki level. Maybe it can even translate into a higher level of Conquerers Haki, since Zoro is already highly proficient at Armament Haki, so at that point with both of his eyes in use, he could have access to Future sight (or some other variation of advanced observation Haki), and then maybe put them together to become something like a True form Ashura or something that manifests his highest degree of Conquerers Haki. Might be completely wrong on this and probably not the first guy to think about this either. Apologies to everyone for the long comment.

I feel like to a certain extent Zorro was testing both himself and Luccii. Like if Luccii pressed him he could be worthy of Santoryu Deadman's Game or Nine Sword Style Asura. He has a measuring stick in Rob Luccii who he knows Luffy can beat fairly easily. So he can measure where his captain is and where he is himself as a fighter. Further, Luccii has displayed an annoying habit of fast healing, delaying him might be better than curb stomping him and leaving him to heal up and attack again when they least can deal with it. I really would like Sanji and Zorro to have a heart to heart about this. Maybe even use their real names to each other.

What I always thought was going to be Zoro's final obstacle was the use of finesse/parrying. I thought that was where Tashigi would come into play. She however has been lost by the wayside.
Chapter 1111 will be the last chapter before his three weeks break. Chapter 1112 scans will be out on April 19, then another week break due to it being golden week after that
The fact that Zoro didn't put the bandana on at all during egg head should say it all. He always gets the most serious when it's on. Roof Piece he got serious when he put on his banana. Dressrosa he toyed with Pica until Pica went after the other weaker people (bandana on).
I think it's a blend of factors personally, Zoro had been up all night like the other heavy hitters but his fighting style is a bigger drain on his stamina than anyone but Luffy's. I don't think he can spam King of Hell aura or use Ashura back to back, and Lucci by comparison had a chance to rest a little and it has been stated awakened zoans have something like a small scale regeneration or healing factor. Zoro was holding back a little more than he should have against Lucci and that could have been arrogance but I think part of it was he was being held back by his own exhaustion. Luffy got to eat and is an awakened zoan by now, so it makes sense that the heavy hitter on the crew with the most stamina problems right now is Zoro, especially since Sanji had his Vinsmoke upgrades awaken in Wano and seems to be physically enhanced, and Jinbe is a fishmen who are stated to have higher baseline strength and endurance than base humans plus fishmen karate seems like an efficient fighting style compared to the stuff the monster trio does.

shanks is the only top tier who wont underestimate his foe and immediately finished them off as soon as possible, while the rest of top tier loves to delay their fight because they are capable of it, kaido, big mom, whitebeard and blackbeard got a very durable body, luffy and mihawk loves to trick and test their enemies worth, marine admiral tend to hold back to minimize battlefield casualties ... while shanks is just a normal dude with common body, the fact his arm easily got eaten by east blue sea king, aint no way shanks gonna delay his battle if his body cant even handle sea king bites

It’s been a while since watching east blue saga do you have any of these examples?
I'm jumping in pandoras box now that it's open. My opinion on Zoros eye is that he got cursed by the sandai kitetsu, so he is keeping his eye closed until he can use a specific technique against Mihawk.
It def gave him the Sharingan
Zoro Eye Theory: What if during their fight with the Blackbeard pirates BB use some kind of darkness world. Creating a sphere of pure darkness. Like in the days of the pirates they would keep one eye cover for when they go below deck to fight. Zoro could use the scar eye to see better in the darkness to get an even playing ground. (all of this plus probably stored observation haki in some way)
I won’t argue that Zorro was messing around or could’ve been in Lucci earlier, but my question is why during such a serious moment? I’m not going to put Sanji’s Vegapunk fumble on Zorro’s hands, but I will say if he stopped messing around earlier, and had Sanji’s back, things may have turned out different.
This is my exact thought. Why would Zoro be playing around while his crew is under attack and VP is murdered? I think the playing around thing is just Zoro stan power scalers coping about his struggle. A lot of people thought Zoro was much closer to Luffy than he is. G5 broke that dynamic.
This was obvious stalling from Oda and it was a fumble. Its okay to think that the author made a mistake sometimes. Like stalling isn't bad but this was a bit too far .
@@rand12389let's just ignore the fact that zoro was using 3 swords at some point and we could even see the infamous blacklightning at this point, people act like zoro can just spam koh mode without any stamina issue or that he can just pullout ashura without thinking lol, let's just accept this fight wasn't a low diff like some thought it would've been. I've never see someone one-shot a enemy after having attaking him multiple times, while bleeding and panting. Luffy vs bellamy or kaido vs luffy first encounter that's what a low diff one shot looks like lol. Zoro has no reasons whatsoever to stall lucci while there's other considerably major threats on the island and they both can sense the presence of the gorosei, lucci is the one that have a reason to be stalling. Sometimes you gotta get your personal feelings or agenda out of the way qo u can enjoy a storyline otherwise you'll always end up disappointed and blame the author for your own unrealistic expectations, that goes for life in general
@obmis_arraid219 it's a case of both sides having wildly different win Cons. Zoro had to beat Lucci to win while Lucci just had to not loose. And on of those goals is significantly harder than the other.

It made me tear up a bit to think about Oda reminding us of characters that haven't shown up in a while. He loves his story so much, I can't imagine how overwhelming it must feel to have so many people around the world remember every little detail and character.
I honestly want Oda to take more breaks. He doesn't do it enough and gets like no sleep. I want the goat to make it long even after one piece is over.

Something I love about Oda saying "I should probably figure out what the One Piece is" is that that is SUCH a writer's thing, 'cause sometimes you have the ending reveal in mind for the longest time, but then things change in your story so much that you gotta just go with the new stuff and re-piece things together.

The last time we saw Zoro before 1107 was chapter 1094 and we saw that he didn't use three sword style there so it's very likely he used two swords since then. If three swords green flame is all out then wouldn't two swords basic armament count as not going all out?

Id love him to have a fight where the lights go out and he just switches which eye is closed without explanation or significance.
From what I understand, pirates often wore eye patches so that if they were raiding another ship and went belowdecks in the middle of a battle, they'd be able to acclimate to the dark by taking that patch off quickly and have some "night vision" on the fly. What if this is how Zoro is able to see an invisible opponent? Training his observation haki like that?

Dead Man's Game/Ashura mode feels like the birth of a new Demon akin to the Gorosei's abilities. Where they manifest a Demonic form that suites their ideals/fighting styles.
And Zoro's Ashura form may be Zoro's final form itself, like a Devil Fruit awakening, it manifests through Haki alone.
It'll be interesting to see as the series continues if this will be the case or not

To be fair, Luffy and Zoro have always loved to fight - not to defeat opponents, the fighting itself. They don't go all out against weaklings. They like to see what the opponent can do and enjoy the fight as much as they can - which is also why they often end up in really bad situations. Could he have picked something from Mihawk? Yes. But even without that, it would be uncharacteristic for Zoro to go all out against weaker opponents.
My favourite idea I had for what the one piece treasure is it's a giant barrel of alcohol for the biggest party on the planet. They wanted to age it just right and it wasn't quite enough time when roger turned up so they couldn't open it just yet and that's why everyone was laughing.
We can easily tell Zoro has been holding back, actually . Did we all forget that Zoro has a whole form that he doesn't use. The same form that was able to temporarily outpace and overpower Kaido, that being Ashura. Zoro has been holding back since a pre time skip . It's crazy how people forget Zoro has this form sitting in his back pocket .

Nah Tekking, you’re not going crazy. I remember that interview as well lol. Oda has said in the past that if people guessed correctly on certain story beats, he’d change them.
I follow the theory that the Wado Ichimonji is a cursed blade. It killed Kuina, since it's been stated cursed blades kills unworthy/weak users. Zoro almost succumbed to the curse over the timeskip, but was strong enough that it only managed to take his eye.
I like this theory because I'm interested to see how Zoro would react if he found out the sword he took to honour his friend was actually the weapon that took her life.

As far as what the One Piece is, the only thing that's outright been confirmed is that Oda isn't going to pull a "the treasure is the friends and experiences that happened along the journey" trope. Like, yeah, that can definitely be a part of it. But there is something physical waiting at Laughtale.
Zorro still didn't know it was goroseis at the other end. He was still thinking it's only kizaru as opponent and Luffy can handle him at ease...
What if it's a case where Zoro, during the time skip (his training period under Mihawk) received the wound on his left eye, but unlike many other injuries and scars he got during that time, this one was a very close call. As in, his eye was almost destroyed but saved by a hairs length or through sheer dumb luck. We all know that the eye is one of the more sensitive organs of a human body and since his almost lost his eye, it could be a case where Mihawk told Zoro to consider that his eye is lost and that he should continue on his journey without using that one eye (Samurai honor and all that bs). Mihawk might have also told him that it would act as a constant state of training as well, and then, when the day comes for Zoro to face Mihawk, Mihawk will allow Zoro to open his left eye to fight him. As far as what difference it would make, in short (and of course in my personal/subjective opinion) I think that it would massively increase the potency/upper potential of his observation Haki, simply because he would then have access to his entire optic nerves system. which would skyrocket his overall Haki level. Maybe it can even translate into a higher level of Conquerers Haki, since Zoro is already highly proficient at Armament Haki, so at that point with both of his eyes in use, he could have access to Future sight (or some other variation of advanced observation Haki), and then maybe put them together to become something like a True form Ashura or something that manifests his highest degree of Conquerers Haki. Might be completely wrong on this and probably not the first guy to think about this either. Apologies to everyone for the long comment.
I still think he just thought “ah well Luffy will get pissed off if I just slit his throat… how do I get rid of him without killing him?! This is tougher than I thought…” and then the Sanji dialogue is “oh that Haki is actually something real serious… in a few seconds I’m asking through jimbei’s snail what the hell twirlybrows is saying is too much to…. What the hell is with all the weird black lightning sigils and weird mythical zoan people?! Is this the bustercall plus?!”

I feel like to a certain extent Zorro was testing both himself and Luccii. Like if Luccii pressed him he could be worthy of Santoryu Deadman's Game or Nine Sword Style Asura.
He has a measuring stick in Rob Luccii who he knows Luffy can beat fairly easily. So he can measure where his captain is and where he is himself as a fighter.
Further, Luccii has displayed an annoying habit of fast healing, delaying him might be better than curb stomping him and leaving him to heal up and attack again when they least can deal with it.
I really would like Sanji and Zorro to have a heart to heart about this. Maybe even use their real names to each other.
Minority Buster would be an excellent name for one of Zoro’s techniques, or one of the swords he can wield together with Cloud’s and Guts’ swords.

What I always thought was going to be Zoro's final obstacle was the use of finesse/parrying. I thought that was where Tashigi would come into play. She however has been lost by the wayside.

The fact that Zoro didn't put the bandana on at all during egg head should say it all. He always gets the most serious when it's on. Roof Piece he got serious when he put on his banana. Dressrosa he toyed with Pica until Pica went after the other weaker people (bandana on).

I think it's a blend of factors personally, Zoro had been up all night like the other heavy hitters but his fighting style is a bigger drain on his stamina than anyone but Luffy's. I don't think he can spam King of Hell aura or use Ashura back to back, and Lucci by comparison had a chance to rest a little and it has been stated awakened zoans have something like a small scale regeneration or healing factor. Zoro was holding back a little more than he should have against Lucci and that could have been arrogance but I think part of it was he was being held back by his own exhaustion. Luffy got to eat and is an awakened zoan by now, so it makes sense that the heavy hitter on the crew with the most stamina problems right now is Zoro, especially since Sanji had his Vinsmoke upgrades awaken in Wano and seems to be physically enhanced, and Jinbe is a fishmen who are stated to have higher baseline strength and endurance than base humans plus fishmen karate seems like an efficient fighting style compared to the stuff the monster trio does.

shanks is the only top tier who wont underestimate his foe and immediately finished them off as soon as possible, while the rest of top tier loves to delay their fight because they are capable of it, kaido, big mom, whitebeard and blackbeard got a very durable body, luffy and mihawk loves to trick and test their enemies worth, marine admiral tend to hold back to minimize battlefield casualties ... while shanks is just a normal dude with common body, the fact his arm easily got eaten by east blue sea king, aint no way shanks gonna delay his battle if his body cant even handle sea king bites
