Absolutely - Kratos' maturity for the sake of his son is incredibly touching. He's managed to master the rage that once ruled him. For the sake of his child and the effort to make sure Atreus doesn't make his mistakes - with the old God of War only emerging when his son is in danger.
My father used to work as a lumberjack for a while, when he came back from forest he smelled like pine, the best smell in my memory, I was very little then, this song reminded me my strong father
My father used to smell like pine too. It was his favourite fragrance. He passed away in due a multiple mieloma cancer in his bones. I miss him so much. Pines and cold weather makes me remember him. Z"L.
I love the scene after the Troll/Giant(I can't remember which it is) busts through the door, after it throws Atreus down and goes to grab him, Kratos legitimately shoving his arm in that mouth to stop it from bitting his sun. This game and the connection between them is amazing
This was also a plot point- atreus had no business attacking the troll, and the troll most likely wouldn't have gone for atreus as long as kratos was beating down on it. Atreus's lack of control caused him to act erratically, doing minimal damage and putting himself in more danger, causing Kratos to get harmed in the process trying to save him.
Athena: You will never change, you will always be a Monster Kratos: I know but I am your monster no longer I am Chaos I am War I am Fury And I am yours no more

@@TheBook778 I was hoping someone would be, so thank you. That said, (clears throat): The story would be set during Kratos' assault on Olympus, with Zeus deciding they need reinforcements as the both the Titans and Kratos fight further and further up the mountain (I intend to go more in-depth with the War and not dismiss the Titans like the game did). He finds Hell and agrees to help the demons get rid of a certain imprisoned entity if they will fight. Naturally, the new army causes trouble for Kratos and the Titans coupled with a more forceful assault from the Gods, and eventually they are at the mercy of the demons. In comes Doomguy, who has been freed due to an accident during his attempted additional imprisonment by the Gods, and is pissed that they are allying with the demons. To that end, he somewhat inadvertently rescues Kratos and the Titans. They form a rather loose alliance, and Kratos and Doomguy play off of each other as they kill their way through monsters, Gods, and demons, with perhaps some funny moments being had from Kratos' hamminess and Doomguy's muteness. I would also probably have the whole Pandora's Box thing go very differently, and Kratos improving more gradually due to Doomguy's more altruistic nature contrasting his own selfishness, leading to his decision at the end to be based on Doomguy's opinion as well as his own revelation. I would then either end it on a cliffhanger where they go after the fleeing demonic horde, with Kratos surprisingly (or not) electing to join the Doomguy in finishing his work with him, or they simply part ways with respect, and perhaps Kratos nodding to traveling to other lands and searching for a better life, with Doomguy giving his approval and well-wishes. "And I am yours no more" it's always cool to see lines from the game turned into lyrics for your songs (especially when they're from the best scene in the game)
An godly piece of music, fit for a god! The orchestra felt like playing the original trilogy while adding the heavy metal and theme felt like a new age of GOW!!!
The best Father's day song ever. From this father to all who can understand. We might have screwed up from time to time... Our redemption are our children... And we're always at war to protect it..
I saw a comment that the other God of War 4 song, To Be Better, is how Kratos sees himself. A dangerous man who has done horrible things in his rage and now must control it when he fights, lest he damn the Norse world as well as the Greek one. While this song is how Atreus sees Kratos- badass, powerful and trying to teach him how to be a good warrior. I can see where they got that idea. There is a really good contrast between this song and To Be Better. Both are really good.
I live for symphonic metal and I have gained a newfound love for this God of War game.... holy shit I am so glad this song exists. It's everything I could've ever wanted.
It's no surprise you experienced so much rage trying to get this song the way you wanted it. All things considered, at least you were able to rein it in to finish this wonderful piece here.
God of war 2018 in a nutshell: Kratos and Boy are going to annihilate the Norse Pantheon just like Kratos destroyed the Greek Pantheon by starting Ragnarok. Boy will try to stop the cycle of God killing bloodshed of sons killing dads and such, but boy might fail.
This feels like a remaster of the original. The base song is just as good. This version is just the definite one that takes full advantage of the resources available. Great stuff!
This is probably the most atmospheric song you've ever done Gav. This song is just utterly amazing. Almost feels like something thatd be on the advertisements for the game.
I love how this song perfectly describes kid's journey to realise what he is as well as growing Krathos passed since part 1 to this one. This is art. Wonderful!
I just finished the game and was thinking how good it 's action would be set to music. This song captures everything I loved about the story the game play ,and especially the emotion. Truly Great.
I would say how beatiful is this, and talk about how wonderful that creators of GoW did such a great job, but i wrote about all of this in video, before putting it down, so my emotions won't be exact same as before. Today im tellin ya GOOD JOB GAVIN!
And yet here we are again Gav..... you never fail to surprise us every time you make a song video we get chills down our spines not only for the parts in the videos but for the music that fits so well into the game as well, this truly tells Krato's life. I love this song and also it's name, as literally "in the arms of the farther" is where kratos past is shown and how he tries to hide it and it's also the answer to all atreus's (not sure if I spelt that right) questions as to where he comes from on his farthers side. It was where the story began the very chains burnt into kratos, the arms that were the cause of his skin becoming white, the same arms that now defend his son. Perfect title for a perfect song to represent the entire series. Fantastic work Gav, I cannot wait to see what you do next!
miracleofsound No worries, I love this series personally and have done for a long time (even grown the older god of war style beard) and also really enjoy your music and how deeply you intertwine the lyrics with source material. Lastly bit random but I was sure I saw slaine comic on your book shelf waaay back when you did that Q and A thing was it?
Ah its back... finally ;) I'm sorry for you that it caused so many problems. But despite all the trouble, this is one awesome song! (I hope you're happy with it aswell!) _(Btw some parts do remind me a bit of Sirona)_
I'm surprised no one is mentioning how the "I AM CHAOS" break in the song is almost a blatant reference to the verse structure from "Binary Divide". wither intentional or otherwise it's still a banger, keep it up Gav!
Couldn't even express how much this version is FUCKING SUPERIOR to the first one. Not to dimminish your work in any way, Gav, but rather to applaud your sense and taste in near PERFECT mastering and point out how INCREDIBLY important it is!!! The first one wasn't groving on me somehow, but this one ROCKS SOOO HARD \m/, Goes straight to the faves!
Now I saw something along the lines of "My work isn't perfect" in the patreon post... I beg to differ, but perfect or not, know your work will always be worth the wait. You aren't just a Jack of All Trades, you're a Master of All Trades.
To be honest: I didn't really like the previous version of this song. Something felt off about the guitars and the vocals. As a music noob I just thought I didn't like the rock/metal style in combination with the theme of the game. After hearing the new "fixed" version, I must say that my opinion has completely changed! I totally understand why you decided to take the last version down and alter it. While I can't really tell what the improvements are, I can hear that is has been improved and gave the song a completely different feel. Well done Gavin! I almost thought this was going to be one of the very few songs that I didn't like, but you proved me wrong again!
@@dragoncatgaming5481 Nords of Skyrim = fantasy Vikings + assorted other, less prominent influences. "Nord" and "Norse" are even synonyms, both referring to the northerly climate the people come from.
blarg2429 I was more thinking they were talking about the songs feel, not the 'they're all Vikings' kind of things, We are War is done in a very similar style, but Nord Mead most certainly is not the same style. Also, We are War isn't specifically about Vikings, it is about all of the groups in the game For Honor. Btw, in old Norse culture 'Vikings' weren't a people group, it was an occupation, namely those who went and raided other peoples at the time, which was called going 'I-Viking,' and depending on the translation, it could also be 'A-Viking,' depending of which dialect of Norse you used.

Oðin's Eye, this is a song that deserves to be sung by the Skalds at Ragnarök, when the Einherjar march out of the gates of Valhalla onto the Bifröst, to make their last stand against the forces of Loki, the Jötnar, Hela and the dishonourable dead! Hail, Kratos, God of War!!!
"...to make their last stand against the forces of Loki" I can assure you, you'd rather want to change that one for something else. If you played the game, you know why.
Blicz B I just finished playing the game, and I have realised my mistake. I offer my sincerest apologies. Obviously, I would not want to hurt the version of Loki from the game. However, in my defence, I was referring to the Loki as portrayed in the original myths and sagas.
@Obi-Wan Kenobi: Hel was also known as Hela long before Marvel Comics even adapted her into their stories, and even before Marvel Comics itself. Marvel Comics was created in 1939, and Hela was introduced to the world in 1964. However, there is a painting by John Charles Dollman called "Hermod before Hela" that was created in 1909 (way before Stan Lee and Jack Kirby were even born).

AND I AM YOURS NO MORE!!!
Headbanging intenaifies
I feel like that part of the song is directed more at Athena.
@@KawaiiNeko333 It is, Kratos himself told her that.
@@KawaiiNeko333
"You will never change, you will always be a monster
"I know, but I am your monster no longer."
*Headbanging. INITIATED.*
Dad of Boi
(King Harkinian approves)
At long last... I cannot describe how good this song is. The best one you've ever done imo
Rodolfo Vasquez holy shit you are stupid
Rodolfo Vasquez you wanna make that bait a little more obvious, pal?
"And I am yours no more" it's always cool to see lines from the game turned into lyrics for your songs (especially when they're from the best scene in the game)
Well done *Boi* . Out of five *Bois* I give it a full seven *BOIS*
I see what you did there, boy!
Robert Bernstein *Seven Bois* ?!
Bah... it's definitely *9 out of 9 Bois* !
10 OUT OF 10 BOIS!!
BOI
that sounded gay
I’m unsure of whether or not there is such a thing as an addiction to a song. But whether or not it exists, I have it to this. This song is badass!
An godly piece of music, fit for a god!
The orchestra felt like playing the original trilogy while adding the heavy metal and theme felt like a new age of GOW!!!
“I am chaos,
I am war,
I am fury,
*and I am yours no more.”*
True words.
0:38 this right here, shows that Kratos is willing to do anything to protect his son, even get his arm bit by a fucking ogre. Fucking badass this man.
1:53 I can't be the only one that hears
"Meet Kratos
He's strong,
Meet Kratos
How beautiful"
I hear "How powerful" but yeah
Well, damn, now I’ll never unhear it.
Yeah
The best Father's day song ever.
From this father to all who can understand.
We might have screwed up from time to time... Our redemption are our children... And we're always at war to protect it..
I don't know why, but the line "Gods and titans shudder at the name" is just so badass to me
I saw a comment that the other God of War 4 song, To Be Better, is how Kratos sees himself.
I am Chaos
I am War
I AM THE GOD OF WAR!!
Good to see the song's back!!
I live for symphonic metal and I have gained a newfound love for this God of War game.... holy shit I am so glad this song exists. It's everything I could've ever wanted.
I am Chaos.
I am War.
I am Fury
I am yours no more.
It's no surprise you experienced so much rage trying to get this song the way you wanted it. All things considered, at least you were able to rein it in to finish this wonderful piece here.
Kratos and Boy are going to obliterate Asgard.
It's gonna be great.
Dad dies, Boy will want to kill everyone in the Norse Pantheon.
I perfer boy dies and kratos turns sight on asgard
Hell no. Time for Loki to rise. =D
neolithiumproduction Disagree dont care about the boi want to see kratos slaughtering
He has returned.
Lord Caelvanir returned? My son,the god of sound never left us
James.T .Adams - True, but Gavin’s perfectionism caused this to be pulled and then reuploaded.
2 gods returned with this song
I think I'm late to this party. Just randomly popped into my listen list. Amazing. Adding it to the permanent list for daily listen too while working.
This feels like a remaster of the original. The base song is just as good. This version is just the definite one that takes full advantage of the resources available. Great stuff!
One of the best combinations of music and POWER.
Daddys arms are stronk
Beating up a yeti is a low planet level feat according to Norse mythology, since The alpha yeti nearly killed thor
Alpha yeti is outversal and myth thor is boundless
So Kratos is multi planetary since he killed a Norse yeti
This is probably the most atmospheric song you've ever done Gav. This song is just utterly amazing. Almost feels like something thatd be on the advertisements for the game.
Thank you very much :)
Yet again, gav delivers a song that should be the credits music for the game it's about.
I love how this song perfectly describes kid's journey to realise what he is as well as growing Krathos passed since part 1 to this one. This is art. Wonderful!
Эта музыка, как и сама игра, шедевральна.
I just finished the game and was thinking how good it 's action would be set to music. This song captures everything I loved about the story the game play ,and especially the emotion. Truly Great.
3:20 onwards the song is magnificent
"I am chaos
I am war
I am Fury
And I'm yours no more"
I'm yours no more sounded more like childish 🤣🤣🤣
"These" Arms are Good, the Arms of the Father. No disarming needed, a good hug from his dad.
I would say how beatiful is this, and talk about how wonderful that creators of GoW did such a great job, but i wrote about all of this in video, before putting it down, so my emotions won't be exact same as before. Today im tellin ya GOOD JOB GAVIN!
“I’m yours no more.” Nice. Love how Gav can work in so much stuff but with subtle lines like that.
Powerful, emotional, and that sweet rock tune
Yet again, you've created another masterpiece
Have a great summer!
At last! Awesome as always
Glad that's back. For a sec I thought I just imagined you made that song
And yet here we are again Gav..... you never fail to surprise us every time you make a song video we get chills down our spines not only for the parts in the videos but for the music that fits so well into the game as well, this truly tells Krato's life. Thank you from the bottom of all our hearts keep doing what your doing we all support you in any way shape or from. Keep Rocking my dude. :)
This song inspired me for buying this game on PC! And GOOD!
this song gives me chills its so good
50% more shivers. You're truly a God of Music.
This definitely catches both his God of war side which Kratos is trying to move away from and his father side which he is trying to move towards
The mythic UA-cam's bard makes his appeareance.
Well played.
Only started listening to your music a few days ago. I regret not listening sooner because I was certainly missing out. You are truly a talented singer, composer, instrument players and everything in between. Can't stop listening and will be for a long time. Keep up the great work you do. Your are now one of my fav youtubers.
Love how kartos is trying to be a good dad dispite his history
"Gods and titans shudder at the name" most badass line EVAR!!!!
This song really gets testosterone flowing through your veins!
It makes my Spartan rage return
Got molten metal in my veins
@@jasonsorin1021 I see what you did there
Tell me about it and I’m a woman 😂
Adrenaline too!
This is quickly becoming one of my very favourites...
A third re-upload? What caused all this Gavin? You had me worried this legend was gone forever!
Gregory Filin
He just wants his music to be exactly like he likes it.
Nothing else except perfection in good enough for him
Check the pinned comment!
miracleofsound man your music is like honey to my ears
I heard this song 3 times now and i cant stop
The song is undeniably amazing, but to make it more accurate
i would recommend the small change of replacing cub with boy.
*Gavin, can you make a playlist on your channel with all your funny songs? Pleaeese?* Like "The call of Duty Circus", "Niko, it's your cousin", "Khajit like to sneak", "You died", "Ploughing a troll" etc. Of course, one day I'll explore all of your 200+ music pieces and will find all funny songs by myself... but just for the sake of convenience make the list.
Seriously, those little masterpieces deserve more recognition. People must have an easier and faster way to find them :D
Don't forgoet wigglesticks
There is "Shooter guy"
Medal of Honour, Doorfighter
Aw hell yeah, thank you, guys xD
you're most welcome

FUCK AUTOTUNE
look it up it'll probably put a smile on your face
My spartan rage is overflowing right now!!!! HELL YES TO THIS SONG! THIS IS SO BRUTAL!!! 🤘🤘🤘
This is easily my favorite of your songs, and I'm overjoyed it's finally back!
#FathersDay2018
I love this song and also it's name, as literally "in the arms of the farther" is where kratos past is shown and how he tries to hide it and it's also the answer to all atreus's (not sure if I spelt that right) questions as to where he comes from on his farthers side. It was where the story began the very chains burnt into kratos, the arms that were the cause of his skin becoming white, the same arms that now defend his son. Perfect title for a perfect song to represent the entire series. Fantastic work Gav, I cannot wait to see what you do next!
Thank you! It's nice when people notice the effort put into the lyrics :)
miracleofsound No worries, I love this series personally and have done for a long time (even grown the older god of war style beard) and also really enjoy your music and how deeply you intertwine the lyrics with source material. Lastly bit random but I was sure I saw slaine comic on your book shelf waaay back when you did that Q and A thing was it?
Will you play anytime live on stage? I would love to see that.
I love how this is a midway point between the Greek Kratos and who Kratos is by the end of GoW4 - the martial pride of Sparta and love of a father.
Ah its back... finally ;)
I'm sorry for you that it caused so many problems. But despite all the trouble, this is one awesome song! (I hope you're happy with it aswell!)
_(Btw some parts do remind me a bit of Sirona)_
I'm surprised no one is mentioning how the "I AM CHAOS" break in the song is almost a blatant reference to the verse structure from "Binary Divide". wither intentional or otherwise it's still a banger, keep it up Gav!
Аж мурашки по коже!!! С уважением из России!
Thank you. Mixing is a very unappreciated art form, it makes a MASSIVE difference :)
I can’t believe this game came out in 2018, and it’s now 2022
One of the absolute best songs you’ve ever done Gav, can’t stop hitting replay!
Why do I feel like every powerful man in the world is singing this .
Now I saw something along the lines of "My work isn't perfect" in the patreon post...
I beg to differ, but perfect or not, know your work will always be worth the wait. You aren't just a Jack of All Trades, you're a Master of All Trades.
IT'S BACK!
BOI!
Larry.L BOY
Krzysztof Retwiński you don't know the way
Fun fact: Atreus is just a fake name for Kratos son to hide him from Norse gods, Boy was his real name all along.
I love this song so much in all honesty, reminds me of We are war and Nord Mead for some reason.
We are War i get, but Nord Mead?!? Why?
Literally the god of war⚔️⚔️⚔️
A father will always be by their kins side through everything they face
Till they go to get a pack of smokes
damn this just blew me away
Somehow you made it better, you truly are a miracle of sound
Some of your best ever work, for one of the greatest games ever made. Incredible as always.
Incredibly well-crafted song, Gav!
One of the best of the year from you so far. I'm not exactly a new fan - I've seen you trending on Bandcamp countless times, and loved what I've heard - but I have to admit, I didn't start actively listening to you until Aviators announced you were collaborating with him on his new album coming this friday. Can't wait for 'Let There Be Fire'!
it's a great track, he's a fantastic composer & arranger!
Oh my God (of War)... Amazing
I see we have a Norse expert haha
Just pointing out, Hela is a Marvel character. The figure you're thinking of is Hel, and was the inspiration for Hela.
I can't imagine Kratos fighting with frostmaw since according to what i have read if you kill more than 5 Yetis frostmaw appareas to serve a uncontrolable rampage
Finally, it's back!
