I loved Weyward. One of my 2023 favourites. The cover is amazing, it's certainly what initially caught my attention. I have already preordered her next book, based on the strength of this debut!
I've been waiting to hear more about this Whitaker book. It sounds really good, minus the slow part. I loved We Begin at the End. Glad that your cat box problems are solved. Happy Reading!
Yay for solving the litter drama 🎉😅. My husband was interested in the litter robot but one of our cats is scared of his own shadow so, no way he'd deal with a robot lol.
Excellent poem, well read and I love the shirt! Thank you for your commitment to solving the kitty issue. Too many owners decide the solution is to get rid of the cat.😢
Hi Kim, I appreciate your wonderful support celebrating Phenomenal Women authors like Maya Angelou throughout August. You recited the poem wonderfully. I love the Reading Rebels T-shirt. Banning Books is dumb and I've always been a rebel. Aloha friend.
The shirt looks FABULOUS! Thank you so much for the support and being a part of the group read. I had Weyward in my BOTM box for ever - maybe I’ll pick it up in the future. Great week, Kim! Happy September. 😊 YES! Yes yes - The link will work! 📚
We need to feel safe and secure as we eliminate since it's a vulnerable time. The self-cleaning cat box made me think of those airport toilets which often flush while you're still sitting on them - as loud as jet engines taking off.
Wayward sounds fascinating! I just read a nonfiction study-Natural Magic-about how Emily Dickinson and Charles Dickens saw nature as transcendent in some way. Sounds like these books might have some things to say to each other.
I finished re-reading The invisible wall by Marlen Haushofer thanks to you (I first read it... last century), it was such a wonderful read ! Same cat problem here, solved with two cat boxes, one for each. Those cats rule our households... Have a great reading week 💜
Love the shirt and that cover for Weyward is just gorgeous. I forgot it was Shorty September, maybe I'll participate in that. What I am doing is Framed! In September: An Art Readathon. Just three prompts, easy to do and art art art!
I have All the colors in the dark on my list and I'm looking forward to reading that. Short chapters yay! I'm currently reading That They May Face the rising Sun. It's beautifully written but there are no chapters and very few line spaces to separate ideas or time. As you said, it is a bit of a struggle to read a book that has no chapters or space pauses but it's Irish and I'm enjoying the characters in the story. I love the cover of Weyward. That sounds interesting.
I happened upon a thrifted copy of A Court of Thorns and Roses and want to join in reading it this month. Not sure if I missed how to join in? I have purchased one of the T shirts and can't wait to wear it! I have been gathering my short books for shorty September and will try to read some Shakespeare. It will be a busy reading month! I have been interested in Weyward and have been keeping my eye out for a used copy. I have been packing up my books as I am going to paint my living room and put together some new shelving. My goodness, it has been an experience. I know I am going to have to thin down the "collection". *shakes head* Glad you have found a solution to your kitty box issues. Less stress. No mess. 😉

Yay for reading banned books! I’ve also put Weyward and All the Colors in the Dark on hold at my library, though I’m 478th in line for the latter!
