  • Shooting and editing this video as been one of the longest video projects I have done recently. There are so many more things to say about force curves, but even the longest video has got to end somewhere. I am trying to elaborate a few basics, which I find a mostly unclear.

A really interesting and clear explanation of force application and it's relationship to hydrodynamics is definitely something to ponder.
Thanks for a very instructive video.

yes, very useful, especially now I'm training with Aram, this video makes even more sense! Thanks Aram.

Thanks Aram. Very useful on how to improve force curve towards end of stroke. I have used this example with student crews.

Why do you want it flat in the middle? Wouldn’t you want it highest where the force in the boat is in direction of travel (middle/ oars perpendicular to the boat?

This would mean a disproportional excelleration and therefore unneccessary water resistance.

Fascinating analysis and explanation. What is the most efficient force curve for an indoor rower?

It is about the same. As the airfan needs to accelerated consistently.

Why does my C2 curve START about a third UP on the Y AXIS. I am not breaking my arms... Thank you!

Maybe you can post a picture on rowing.zone
But generally speaking: C2 has no direct force measurement and thus no accurate curves

It is not exactly acceleration that causes increased drag, but velocity. Drag is a function of velocity, Drag is not a function of acceleration.
