Probably the best playoff run of all time. Dirk went through the JailBlazers, Kobe/Pau Lakers, Westbrook/Harden/Durant Thunder, and the '11 heat. I mean who was the 2nd best player on the Mavs? Tyson Chandler?
Dirk signed my hat in Indiana before a game. I said "Dirk your the greatest!" He looked at me and said "Really? Thanks man." I love Dirk he is THE GOAT
I've lived in Dallas since 1994. I'm the same age as Dirk too. When Dirk was younger every blue moon I'd hear from somebody they saw him out at a club or a bar having a good time, usually with Steve Nash. Not a lot, just every so often. I never heard about Dirk being a jerk or anything to anyone. He just liked to get his party on when he was younger. Then about the time the Mavs made the Finals in '06 & lost, you really didn't hear much good about Dirk in the media. I think Dirk was still a great guy, but it was obvious that he became more secluded, more private & definitely focused on bringing home a title. Plus, the media & fans were very frustrated with Dirk & the Mavs at that time. From '06 to '11, you would start to hear respect for Dirk. Definite respect for his loyalty to the franchise. Respect for him as a great player, still questions about could he lead a team to a title... and then they won!! That's really when the love affair with Dirk & Dallas began. It's a little sad to me from the standpoint that Dirk is & always has been a great human being and that it would take a title for people to really talk about what a great person he was so much. Still, things couldn't have worked out better. I've lived in Dallas for close to 25 years, the entire time Dirk has been here & I've never heard anything but the absolute best from anyone whose ever told me they had an interaction with him. I listen to a local Sportsradio station, and Dirk has been coming on the midday show for an hour once a year for the past 20 years. They talk about him in glowing reviews & they're honest. If Dirk were an asshole, they'd say so in not so many words, but they always talk about what a great dude he is, just down-to-earth, just a guy, who's just a guy, just an average dude who happens to be anything but average on the basketball court. I think Dirk is maybe one of the greatest people to ever play professional sports, and it's just a bonus that he happens to be one of the best hoopers to ever do it. #41 #MFFL

Right now at 40 yrs old if Dirk wanted 30M+ per yr from Cuban he would get it! Or whatever the Max is per yr for someone like Dirk!

the imagination that Dirk could have played with Kobe is mindbending. That would have been a team ... holy cow. But also for the legacy of Dirk, happy he stayed loyal.
Dirk and the Mavs had been great that season. We are so stupid and arrogant talkin' about what should have been, what could have been. This guys played in the league for 10/15 years, workin' their butt off. I like especially that kind of stories. Stand by your team. Times are easy when you win title after title. But every title is hard work. And it's also hard work competing and challenging the best teams for many years even if you don't win the title. I was so happy for the entire Mavs team. This is what team spirit is all about. Love you Dirk, J-Kidd, Jet, Tyson, Shawn, J.J., Custodian, ... and also Mark Cuban for believin' and let your men play! Go Mavs

2:55 did Dirk say “NyQuil” and continue to put the competition to rest? That’s tough af. Dirk is my favorite player ever
He played every man w all his heart but made no enemies because of it
Dirks a basketball legend n paved the way for euro players 💯🐐
One of the best international players of all time!! He's features in our latest top 10 video if you wanna check it out
The best.
Sabonis, Kukoc, Divac, Petrovic. There was already a good amount of really great overseas talent. But yeah, he was the first real Superstar out of Europe. Dirk is a legend, and as a Houston fan, it’ll suck to see him gone
IMO, he and Hakeem are on the same legend tier when it comes to international players
thanks for the upload. Dirk has always been an awesome dude.
Future Hall of famer
He's so kind to his fan!!this is the biggest reason why I love him👍
9 years old watching Dirk get his ring. I fell in love with basketball being that I still am born and raised in in dallas. Now 16 watching Mavs rebuild around Luka and I could not be happier. So much love for Dirk, the OG Euro Maverick
GOAT. Definition of a true athlete humble competitor who has a love for the game will miss him when he retires 😪
One of the greatest
his championship run was an amazing thing to watch
I fw they way the kids friends are in the beginning being genuinely happy for him and not jealous or hating
I've been a mavs fan my whole life and I never hurt as much as it in did in 2006 losing those 4 games in a row and nothing felt better than in 2011. I love me some Dirk
Dirk=legend
I'm a Heat fan and Dirk is one of my top 5 favorite players. Much respect
The most underrated player
Dirk will forever be one of those guys that just brings fun competition to the game. He enjoys the sport and makes it enjoyable for his fans without sacrificing his etiquette or technique
I didn't expect that mavs team to win a title. They played fearless. That was a great year for the Mavs.
Dirk is amazing! Gonna be really said seeing him retire just like it was with Kobe.
There is nothing to hate about Dirk. Even when he scores a game winner on my team I don't care. He's just so cool
I am a big fan of Dirk, he is a fucking legend
Kings fan. With nothing but respect for Dirk. All timer.
Bamberg unsere Stadt ❤️. Dirk hat jede NBA Pause in Rattelsdorf trainiert. Wahre Legende 💜
the imagination that Dirk could have played with Kobe is mindbending. That would have been a team ... holy cow. But also for the legacy of Dirk, happy he stayed loyal.
The best guy I've ever had the pleasure of watching play this awesome game! Truly the GOAT!
He is honest and he is touching peoples heart. What more can you expect. True german embassador
the guy in the green jersey is me😂
J Bayawon you gay as hell
Lucky you. Witnessed history
i thought it was an asian chick
That was the coolest part of the video, seeing your reaction. Congrats
@@xOGam1ng stfu you looser.
Any one star that can lead a team to a chip in the current era is an all time great
He is a friend of a friend from Würzburg.
A role Model of a sportsman and very humble.
I wish him all the best from Germany
Go Mavs
Einfach die größte deutsche legende er ist so sympathisch und so nett ich Feier ihn einfach :D
So sieht’s aus
Dirk ist ein Ehrenmann
He's that guy.....
Donkeyballs!
If Dirk is watching this and reading my comment. I would just like to say thank you for bringing a championship to the Mavericks.
The MOST humble champ of all time, doesn't need to call himself "The King, The Chosen One." WHAT a joke lmao. And he still gets bigger ovations :D - YOU'LL ALWAYS be my GOAT Dirk!! And you're def an honorary TEXAN to us!! LOVE YOU! 1:40 Kobe knows what time it is!! "Tough shot." :D Kobe you're my number 2! Legends know legends!
Dirk is the man.
he's the only thing I don't hate about the mavs
andymath89 Is Mark Cuban the main reason why you hate Dallas? 😂
i hate them because they sweeped my Lakers 4-0 and ever since we been rebuilding :(
Sam S YOUR Lakers? Bruh I hate when fans say shit like my Lakers and we've been rebuilding, like. You're a fan, not the coach, players, team owner, or coaching staff.
Fuckhands Mcmike It's not that serious lmao
EVera214 true, I'm just being a little prick, nitpicking shit
Love Dirk forever
I never thought of that Dirk and Kobe on a team. That shit would've been nice
Or if Nash stayed with Dirk
BrownSugar Ye or If Kobe cape to the Mavs in 07
I enjoyed watching dirk throughout his career, he was a excellent basketball player and a awesome man off the court, sad that his career is over so my hat is off to you dirk on a wonderful nba career
Love you for ever dirk
dirk is always a gentleman.....never once did he stumble...ever. & he wont till his dying day...he is that solid. nothing is more dependable....nothing!
I’m gonna miss you dirk 😢
Can't wait for Dirk to join Shaq & Charles at the broadcasting table. Great ambassador for the sport. Class act a blessing for Luka to land in Dallas and have him as his mentor. Thank you, Sir, for the great memories
One of the few to have carried a team to a championship without another superstar. 🔥👑
G.A.M.A Jason kid wym 😂😂
He seems like the nicest guy
