This is unsurprising. If you look at the numbers of troops along the LAC, Indian troops outnumber the Chinese troops by a lot. China is trying to avoid any clashes on the border, but India keeps putting more troops along the border and building more infrastructure to get even more troops there. It makes it obvious who is trying to be aggressive on the border.
It's also obvious which country is trying to invade the other. If China gained more territory to the south, what would it gain? Nothing. Just more people it would need to assist to have a better life. However, India has polluted all its major rivers and is draining its aquifer too quickly. As such, India is literally running out of water. India would like nothing better to get their hands on Tibet's water resources.
For once if India invaded, China will loose territory. China encroached and India responded in kind. Would be interesting to see for once in history how an Indian invasion looks like.

For those who havent read the Indian government's Commission's report on how 1.8 billion Indians were unalived by the British Here is a short summary
First, it was done over a very long period of 200+ years. Not all in one go. And it was the British policies and laws implemented that killed 1.8 billion Indians, not that they were executed
The two main policies that wiped out 1.8 billion Indians are:
1: Allocation of food: Since the British were at war all the time, they didn't have people to do the farming. They made India do agriculture and then take it away. causing a massive famine every week.
2: Plundering of India's natural resources The British forced Indians to mine all the natural minerals in their country and carry them to the ports to be shipped back to England every day. extremely dangerous jobs, and these poor Indians weren't fed, and hundreds of millions succumbed to the exhaustion.
The whole of India was ruled by only a handful of Britishers. Why India chose to never fight back baffles many to this day. Maybe India is just obedient by nature.
India holds the largest surrender record in world history with a billion of them surrendering to 300 British sailors for 211 years.
Drawing upon my expertise in the behaviors and nesting habits of Indians, I can definitively state that Indians did not resist the invaders; instead, the invaders, including the British and various others, eventually withdrew when there is nothing left but a population of one billion Indians grappling with poverty and illiteracy-a challenging situation that nobody was eager to tackle.

China is leading the world on technology by far and China's industrial might is more than the US, Germany, Japan and Korea combined. Some say China is starting a new arms race. Sadly, it is not the case. China is very alone in advancing military technology and deploying & commissioning the world's most advanced weapons. China is now about a decade or two ahead of the US on military technology. And perhaps a generation or two ahead of the US on related industrial power. The US has simply given up. The US's worse nightmare now is, if the US still wants to stay ahead in military power after China, the US has only one option, i. e. Made in China. China will dominate the world on arms trade in a decade. There will simply be no other viable choices.
