I don’t post or comments a lot but I love to watch and learn from your videos. What I would love to hear and see is different amp set up without all the delays and reverb. Just the pure and simple amps. (Fender’s, vox, matchless etc…) you know just like when you plug in directly to and tube amp. No effects just the amp. I found out from my point of view that with all theses effects it sounds quite the same regardless of the amp you used. Ok not the same but closed. I don’t know if it make sense ?
But the way I’m French so excuses my English, still improving 😃

He does have a few videos like that, just guitar plugged into a great amp, but I’m not sure how to locate them. Maybe JNC can help with that?

Those are some lovely AC30 tones. Your accent sounds very appropriate when playing them. I'm one of those folks who bought your presets eons ago and I'm happy to re-up another fiver to get the new ones. Two other HX pedals that to really nicely w/ the HX Voxes (you found the Timmy which is one of the best), but the Red Llama can do wonders with the HX Voxes and the Prince of Tone for the 'slightly gritty' sounds. Thanks John!
I would never have the patience for all those settings. I love Vox and Vox-derived amps (I have a hand wired AC15 in black tolex) but I just throw a Strymon Flint and an El Capistan in front of my Morgan MVP23 and I can get very close to this sound as well as turn a couple knobs and get a Marshall or Fender-ish tone too. Modelers are very impressive but to be honest I wouldn't know how to work the thing. Excellent playing as always.
Amazing video man and I'm obsessed with your chord progressions through this whole video. Mostly the cleaner sections. Trying to figure them out by ear.

I know it’s off topic from the vox tones, but what sound difference happens running the hx units out to delay and reverb pedals, not from the fox loop but straight out. Dialed these settings into a POD GO 2.O today and the tone was way different than on this video ... a lot more overdriven and darker sounding 😮😮 I have a much better patch myself with the Fawn and 2x12 BlueBell cab so sticking with that for now 😊

I just read on some forums that Helix / HX Stomp have a problem with phantom power. Do any of you know of this, and is this a real issue? I've used Helix for a few years but never heard about this intil now?
Hi, I bought you Helix presents pack and I am really pleased with it. Though, I am using my helix with a powercab 112 plus and I just can't get your actual sound using your presets through the cab. Would you mind explaining me what to do especially for the Divided by 13 preset and the speaker simulations in the powercab. Also would you mind making a video of how to get a super glassy clean tone. Very bright and sparkly. I am really chasing that tone, but I can't really get it. Thanks a lot for the help.
Hey Alex, when I used the Powercab - I would run it in LF Raw mode - I would even consider leaving the Cabs on on your Helix as I found that to me needed much less tweaking

I always find myself favoring AC 30 tones with modeling and real amps I prefer fenderish amps. Not sure why or what causes my fluctuating between amps and modeling preferences. Probably do to fender amps being easy to dial in pedal drives more so than modeling. Easily gets to muddy with gain on modeling.
I'm the same - in real life I've found Vox a bit too spikey/unmanageable but in modeling it's just lovely stuff?!
@@johnnathancordy definitely the higher end break up sounds brittle sometimes in my opinion for live vox amps. Thank you for your content it's helped me a ton. Although I will say I played through a Dr.Z styled after a AC 30 and it was pure bliss. In reality it was a vox dumble esc tone to my ears. To bad their a quarter of a years salary brand new 😂
@@johnnathancordy update I have found the perfect answer for my dilemma on live amps. Hiwatts or more specific reeves amps. I am sold for recording and larger live venues. Could you please do a podgo or helix video on your take of the hiwatts
Your hx stomp has 8 blocks on the chain. How is it possible ?
Mine has 8 as well. Doesn't it have to do with the software version? Is yours up to date?

@@sleephealing4009 The HX Stomp has had 8 blocks since the v3.0 update, which was released in November of 2020! SO much new stuff has been added since then. You should update it at the earliest!
Probably gel broke it like the podgo. You can hack your podgo and do away with the set eq pedal. I usually use my eq pedal as a slight mid push boost pedal so I didn't worry about it.

I have a Ruby on my board in combination with the Stomp and I don't think the Helix AC30s are inferior.
