Morning John from across the pond. I just love you videos. I’m really thinking about taking my HX Stomp off of my pedalboard. Funny you’d do a 80’ - 90’s sounds. Started running Wet /Dry in those day. My final rig took so much time programming that I swore (loudly too) I’d never get into programming? I’ve been thinking of getting a MIDI pedal to control pgm and cc changes on my HX Stomp. It becomes an issue trying to incorporate it in my current stage rig.
@johnnathancordy where can I find that Cloudburst preset please? Under what update and name? I'm also wondering if when you make these videos you can name the preset and tell us exactly what download area to find them in? Sometimes I see the name but not exactly where they're found in your presets? Would be really handy
The reverb in the Helix really has taken a step up in the last few releases! That’s a great idea with the Wah behind the verb, I may try a similar thing 😊
Stunning reverbs. I ignored the fact for 4 years that I didn’t need an HX Stomp in my life, but I’m glad I finally relented because it’s freed up half my pedalboard space and simplified things a lot for me
Back when I depended on my M13 for effects the Particle Verb was the main effects for swells. I was happy when Line 6 brought all of their legacy effects over to the Helix. Good overview, thx!
Gorgeous sounds! The Legacy Effects are great, still useful, and use less DSP. Your understanding of the components that go into making complex reverb sounds many of us find attractive, and how to get them on our Line 6 Helix gear, makes them all the more valuable. Thanks for sharing your talent, insights, and skills. I look forward to your videos every day. 😎
I got HX Stomp based on your reviews largely, it arrives today. Can't wait to dive deep, and your demos of reverbs and clean tones is just incredible. Just purchased the Helix/HX Stomp bundle, can't wait to check it out :)
This is why the HX Stomp has pretty much killed my desire to buy other reverb, or delay pedals. I always figure my time will be better spent trying to get the most out of what I already have.
canceled an order for the "LVX" because i spent about 45 minutes with my HX to "explore" similar tones.. and found the Delay magic i was hoping for. HX Stomp will go down as one of the best culminating rack/effect technologies of our time... (one day a classic)
When I got my helix I was ready to be disappointed by the verbs and delays, purely because people on the internet said so. I have found them to be my favorite part of the HX and whenever I need something different I just build it on a parallel path with a bunch of effects.
Who needs a Strymon!! ...or indeed any other piece of gear, like...ever! By far and away my favourite YT geetar channel. Why aren't you in a monster band playing to thousands!!??
I was really struggling to get these kind of reverb sounds from my stomp. I was trying the dynamic hall. Gonna try these plate reverbs later. Thanks for the tips 🙌
Thanks John, I will try. Since I have my LT, am a bit of disappointed vs ampero stomp 2. The last is really really good on glacial clean channel with any delay or reverb after it. The sound is so deep, creating this real shiver effect for user. The hx sound more... Metallic ? Artificial ? I don't know if it's just a matter of EQ on HX or quality of effects.
Im really contemplating getting an HX Stomp. I have a lot of pedals set up in stereo. Will this essentially take me away from using my pedalboard and amps? I do like the idea of plugging into the interface and ready to record, as apposed to micing up my amps. Whole new ballpark for me. Sounds great Jonathan!
John what are using for your monitors, interface plugins etc? I have tried Kali 6.5 monitors and a steinberg interface. Feeling like I am needing a plugin or something else. Thanks
Hot take, I don't really care much for the newer shimmer reverb. Revisiting this because I want some nice ambient tones without the super high pitch whiny sound.
Coming from a rig with a BigSky the HxStomp reverbs are just frustrating and take a degree in tinkering to get anything good out of them. It’s almost hard to make the Bigsky sound bad. With the HxStomp maybe it’s there but I much prefer playing guitar over tweaking which is all I find myself doing with an HXStomp. I’ll likely be moving on from my HxStomp xl soon…
Link is in the description - this will go into the "general" folder - hope it is useful for a couple of you?!
Cheers John…. P.s. I wrote an editor for the rc-600 so you can copy settings between memories. It’s on the rc-600 face book page 👍

I realize that I probably am in the minority here, but I would love a video like this with the Valhalla Supermassive

100%!! I'm a big fan of the Particle Verb too, and had an M13.
@@guitarspeakpodcast1383 - Yep, an excellent multi FX unit and a big reason why I decided on Line 6 (Helix) vs other modelers at the time.

I could listen to this guy play all day long. I bought an hx stomp because of him. Loving it.
Wow! I've been using Glitz for all my ambient tones but this has just upped the game!
I always love turning the high cut very low / the tone control down, feels very soft and dreamy that way c:

Line 6 should be paying John at this point for real! He’s 100% why I bought my stomp and I’ve heard many others say this
Same.
yes...will have to try the wah after reverb as well...great idea!
This was really awesome. Would love to see a dive into the delays as well!
Amazing! Just sold the bigsky and needed guidance for dialing stomp reverbs. Thank you 🙏
That wah on the reverb is so cool, it makes me want to get something that can do ramping and hook it up there.
This is why the HX Stomp has pretty much killed my desire to buy other reverb, or delay pedals. I always figure my time will be better spent trying to get the most out of what I already have.

Great to stretch the HX STomp to challenge all comers. I really like these videos that explain your choices.
John I'd love to see a video seeing if you can some cloudburst tones out the helix?
I love my Helix so much. For the price, it really is unbeatable tones.
*runs to Helix to build these into patches*
Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.
In the next update Helix is gonna get a new signature JNC Reverb
The Headrush has included the Particle Reverb on the 2.6 updates.. Om now loving it.
Yes George! I've just been playing with it!!
What about other reverbs & delays in Headrush, can you create ambient sounds like on HX Stomp?
With the newest update, I've always been able to get excellent ambient tones out of the Stomp.
gorgeous tones here JNC

Hi John, please do drop into the folder. Great video as always.
Thanks for leaving a comment Anton! Both presets are in the folder now!
@@johnnathancordy it would help if you tell us what the names of the presets are beforehand.
They're in the video on the screen - ODSStrymon and ODSStrymonWAH
@@johnnathancordy they’re not even in the folder
They absolutely are sounds like maybe you're still on the pre-Elon link?
Who needs a Strymon!! ...or indeed any other piece of gear, like...ever! By far and away my favourite YT geetar channel. Why aren't you in a monster band playing to thousands!!??
He plays with Mark Kelly of Marillion. That ain't nothin...
This is what I am talking about!! Thank you!

Very good sounds!
Hey John! Thanks for the lessons. Could you help us find a Flanger suitable for "High Landrons" & "House Burning Down"?
Hello John! Do you have the Headrush Mx5? I`d like To see videos and your opinion about it

I purchased this but how do I find it lol? Like what name do I look for since the list is so massive
The good ol Valhalla shimmer stands tall against the big sky plug-in
Runs seamlessly and is 50 bucks
Just a question, how do I make the wah only affect the reverb and not the actual guitar tone itself?
legit nice
That Particle Verb discovery got me!! Big ol' diffused MultiTap Delay!!!
John you are a musical chemist ! What if you used an EBow to create pads with this preset ?
Lovely!
John what are using for your monitors, interface plugins etc? I have tried Kali 6.5 monitors and a steinberg interface. Feeling like I am needing a plugin or something else. Thanks
I am sry I am so confussed with this links in description.. is there any place when I can buy this presets that you showed in video for my Stomp?
Very cool!
Are these orders you have to buy / install or already in V3.5? Where would I get them?
Greatness!
Dope!!
What's the name of this exact preset? Amazing
what is he using for thos first two blocks (active)? to get that sweet initial tone
Hot take, I don't really care much for the newer shimmer reverb. Revisiting this because I want some nice ambient tones without the super high pitch whiny sound.
I have zero desire for any other verb besides stomp. Out of one tiny box I can get any combo of insane stereo verb. No need for another pedal.
It's awesome init
Reminds me a lot of the EQD Afterneath.

woaaau
The Strymon still sounds more high definition to me. Sweeter sound
Move over Strymon. I do like Strymon stuff though.
