Took my 16' Sea Fox flats boat out in Estero Bay to find some big fish. Started my morning with some bacon and ended it with a 28" snook and a 25" redfish.
You are free to run outside of the channel from November 15 - April 1st. Any time outside of that time frame is considered "Manatee Zones" and can result in a fine/ticket. Always be cautious about where you run and how shallow your boat drafts to ensure the health of Estero's sea grass! I hope to see you out on the water. Best, Captain Joe
+Captain Joe Angius I usually fish the 10k islands or ENP so my knowledge of Estero Bay is very limited. As soon as I got out of the channel I dropped the trolling motor. I don't want to damage the grass!
Drew, always remember "Red, Right, Return". The red channel marker will be on the starboard side when returning to land. For more information, check out: www.uscgboating.org/images/486.PDF
Captain Joe Angius So anytime you are headed away from open water you want the red on your right side? I just get confused with the markers going from fort Myers bridge to estero. The marked channels that run along the beaches are what confuse me because I don't know how to tell if I'm going towards open water or away.
Drew Horn that is correct and the general rule of thumb. Markers become confusing when multiple channels meet in one area and knowing which ones to stay in between while running north or south. As the numbers increase, you are heading upstream and away from the open water.
Cool vid I like your boat man
Thank you!
Kick ass video. I know u from the creek. Thanks for the video.
I love rippin' thru mullock creek miami vice style
Nice flex on that rod! I like it!
I just fished Estero Bay today. Seemed like everyone was running wot out of the main channel? I thought that was a no no.

hey man down here from Canada looking at renting a boat. Was wondering if you had any reccomendations in Naples.
I like the sea fox, looks like a great backwater boat. Whats the draft on that boat when its just you and minimal gear? Is that a riptide i pilot?
The draft is 6". When it's only me on the boat, I can fish anywhere a gheenoe would go. The trolling motor is a riptide, but not an ipilot.
What pound line were you using
I use 15lb Spider Wire Invisi-braid with either a 25lb or 30lb fluorocarbon leader.
is the green square always on your port side?
