I served for a brief period of time on the USS John F Kennedy CV67 displacing 87,000 tons with 8 D type boilers powering 4 main engines producing 80,000 horsepower each for a total of 320k.. she was commissioned in 1967 and decommissioned in 07 I believe, my time in service was 86-90. I preferred the tin can fleet as it was easier to get to know your fellow shipmates. Good memories though!
God bless America for helping the Philipenis and others country against china.
India loves Philippines
god destroy china bcz of made Corona and destroyed million of people s
But currently United States isn't wholeheartedly fighting against communist China like the way it fought against the Soviet Russia during the times of cold war. Otherwise it would have vehemently opposed the aggression of communist China into Hong Kong, Macau and Tibet. It would have then armed the Uighur rebels just like it armed the Mujahideens of the then Afganistan against Soviet aggression. It wouldn't have recognised communist china's claim over Hong Kong and Macau. And had fought for Taiwan's status as an independent country just like it fought vehemently for the same status of the tiny nation of Isreal.

It's funny the US "amphibious assault ships" AKA light aircraft carriers, are larger and/or comparable to most nations carriers in length. It's insane how the US has 21 carriers. (10 light and 11 super)
Most Countries can't afford them... And the U.S. wouldn't have what we do if it wasn't for Japan waking up a beast

They forgot to mention that the Kusnetzof operates as a teem. It must travel with a permanent tugboat assignment. So when it breaks down, it is easier to tow back to port.
It wants to be a submarine so bad, like the Moskva
deyum! NIMITZ CLASS IS SO BEAST! , i would like to see the nimitz carrying the tomcat if its still operational. my personal favorite fighters of us navy air force,!
God bless America!!! Love from Northeast, India .....🇮🇳💕💕
The Forestal-class carrier had a displacement of 65k tons.
The Enterprise class had 94k tons.
Nimitz has 100 to 104k.
Ford class is about the same, although because of no steam pipes for the catapult is listed as 100k dusplacement.
All those US class carriers have 1000 ft. plus decks.
The Nimitz and Ford class have classified top speeds. Any claim made to top speeds is unofficial or a guess, but unlike the HMS Elizabeth, they are capable of outrunning even a Virginia class nuclear submarine as well as almost any other warship on the seas.
I never get tired of it. Run her up to full speed and command, "Hard a port!"
By the way, it's Carrier.

I got to tour the Intrepid in NYC. I was impressed by how small it was. It's hard to believe they launched planes on that thing. John McCain recalls how the it would launch planes twice as fast as the more advanced Forrestal during training exercises.
The Intrepid is also 78 years old. When she was new, she carried 90 aircraft. 36 fighters, 36 dive bombers and 18 torpedo bombers.

I sometimes wonder if we have become too dependent on missiles. There are ways to circumvent the electronics of a missile. But, once a dumb canon slug comes at you there is no way to circumvent that except to try to get out of its way.
That too can be destroyed using laser weapons which are travelling at the speed of light. But it will take some 50 to 100 years until we will be able to develop laser weapons of that much prscision.
Wikipedia had USS Nimitz as 100,020 long tons (112,020 short tons). Technically making it the largest aircraft carrier.
largest by ship classes...but the largest ships regardless of class all belong to US navy...
Russia has the largest sub.
@@squidusn71 Yep, sub.. just one of them, the rest of the class has been scrapped or decommissioned.

I have some critic: apart from the number of tons and speed in knots, you keep mentioning different facts on the ships which makes it almost impossible to compare them to each other. However just this is what you meant to do, so please do this! Mention the same facts about these ships in the same way, f.i. when describing motor output and power.

Even the America Class and the Wasp Class are bigger and operate fixed wing aircraft. I guess since they are and LHA and LHD they don't count.
Queen Elizabeth class aren't much smaller than the American carriers.
She's actually smaller than the USS Midway (at decommissioning in 1992)!
You forgot to mention that the Admiral Kutznetsov has a permanent support group of tugboats to pull it along. No joke!
Cool
Thanks for the info. I served in the Navy back in the 80's the Midway was still in service. was thankful I didn't get stationed on a flat top / floating city ...not that there's anything wrong with them ....i personally didn't want to be on 1.
But thanks again it nice to see how our ships are advancing with technology. ... I tried to re-up ones the 1st class petty officer told me I was to OLD ( I was a mear 50 y.o) lol .. I told him that was age discrimination .. he laughed and pointed and said there's the door sailor ( jokingly)I told him just think you wouldn't have to train me and I still know part of my general orders ...he laughed again..those young bucks would run circles around you ...his phone rang and we said our good byes with a hand shake thanking each other for serving...so I close thanking all VETS for your service.
Who else is ready for USS Enterprise CV 80
Wait : did I hear KUSENSOV ???
@John Buick
Not yet. Still afloat with tugboats on all four sides.

what are all the pieces of equipment that come with a carrier group?
Wow!!!!!
bruh sam is the best narrator
Didn’t know these ships were so light. One Auto-rack rail train car weighs 120,000 tons. This means these carriers are made of a high percentage of aluminum with steel being the framing. A rail car is all steel and thick steel. Guess it needs to light to sink less in water and move faster.
Makes for one hell of a fishing boat
Wow Very good
Awesome!
Amen
Being present In person, it is much more impressive!

I'm here tryna find out if there actually is a aircraft carrier that could carry godzilla and kong

beautifully american aircrafts carriers...
keep up make many more better bigger stronger aircrafts carriers / submarines / warships / weapons
I have always wondered why not using the maximum length of the carrier for takeoff.
Modern military aircrafts would just fall off and sink to the bottom of the ocean without the aid of the catapults lol.
Why start the list with #1? Basic film making.
Because no one remembers the ones who aren't #1.
Must be a very old video. I seen a Tomcat on the back of the first carrier in the video. They've been fully retired since the early 2000's. The super hornet took its place back then.
You didn’t seen anything. SAW

@radinko radivojevic if they haven't made port they should be fine hell a island onto themselves just wait it out off the tropics 😎
Yes it was good
@radinko radivojevic that is true, but Russia has no power projection which is what a aircraft carrier accomplishes
Lazers are becoming a thing..... Not quite yet but its very real in the next decade
The Liaoning class carriers have a little stamp saying "Made in China". Good luck finding it but its there. Somewhere.
hi T...
'
ussr russia did made old aircraft carrier and gave to china use it
35 MPH from both the US classes, gimme a break, that's crazy.
35 MPH? No, 35 knots. (over 40 mph)
WHY DON'T YOU GIVE ALL OF THE STATS IN STANDARD INSTEAD OF METRIC ?
chill bruh hahaha
The QE class can carry up to 70 aircraft, not 40. Its maximum speed is at least 32 knots. It’s also 65,000 tons empty, whereas the Ford and Nimitz are 100,000 tons full load, so it’s not as accurate a comparison.
That is wartime numbers and as noted the Brits don't like to carry planes outside of the hanger. So 40 makes sense plus with their constant budget cuts. It now takes their entire force of F-35s just outfit one of them.
By contrast US carriers can carry up to a hundred aircraft if needed. So far none of the recent conflicts have needed that many planes.
@@Predator42ID the Brits will (hopefully) order 138 F35Bs over the life of the jets, enough to fully outfit one carrier, plus spare.
@@TT-hd3zi At their current rate of decline I find that unlikely but one can hope.
The Brits military is getting so desperate they are now forced to adopt American tactics.
All that government funded health care BS is doing wonders with military reductions across europe.
@@Predator42ID nothing to do with government funded healthcare, which is also underfunded in the UK.
@@TT-hd3zi Da Fur!? Then where the heck is all that money going?
IMO, if it does not have CATOBAR, it is not a fleet carrier.
Because the ski jump launch reduces the fuel and armament carried, such a carrier is best used to support amphibious operations.
That is why the LHA's and LHD's of the US, are smaller carriers without CATOBAR, and thus use only helicopter and S/VTOL craft.
Do they have a Break
Who is here finding a reason that how Godzilla and Kong are on a Carrier😅🤨😐
god bless america frm philipines
We are in the favor of America.America is our the best ally since during the second world war. That was the history,it cannot be forgotten.

Godbless you USA for your help pilipino people
What Song 6.00-6.50?
The Russian ship isn't even classified as an aircraft carrier and it's sitting at port in disrepair. It also needs a fleet of tugboats to escort it.
I wish the Royal Navy had hung on to catapults, rather than going over to ski-ramps.
Going by the title literally all the ships should be of the US Navy.

Can you please amend your information concerning QE Carrier. The HMS QE is in fact 70,600 English tonnes in weight or Long Tonnes making our tonne i think 2,270 lbs something like that. The American Ton is only 2000lbs so in fact their carriers would be liter if you convert to English Tonnes. Please don't try and make out 65,000 tonnes is right ok I know from looking up on diff sites 70,600 is correct.
Yes, tonne is the metric measure of 1000 kg while usually US ton is the short ton version or 2.000 pounds
A short Ton is the US customary version, is equal to 2,000 pounds
A long Ton is the mostly outdated Imperial Ton, is equal to 2,240 pounds
A tonne, also known as a metric Ton, is equal to 1000kg, (or 2,204.6 pounds)
What country does #8 belong to, (the Cavor)?
Italy
Why most powerful warship fight weak and small countries?
Well if you realise back in gulf war the us did not battle weak and small countries
God Bless all urs militares and cooworkers
I ove USA
Charles De Gaulle? its bigger than some mentioned as well at 42000 tons? not to mention only one outside of our US;s ones that uses catapults thus no need for the f'ugly ramp. thus less weight, id sa y next to our nimitz and ford its next best
Ehhh I feel the new Queen Elizabeth class puts it next in line after us
USA!
Aircraft carriers are now obsolete the same way as battleships were obsolete during WWII. This is due to the advanced missiles developed.
Please explain how it is obsolete.
You are SOOOOOO wrong.
More vulnerable maybe, but not obsolete. The hypersonics are not impossible to defend, regardless of what you may have heard
