Not just a Basketball Savant, this dude looks to be a solid human being. Loyal Kings fan have been gifted a talent like Keegan. GO KINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keegan came in just in time where the Sacramento front office and the staff in general are getting into the right direction. Hope this kid makes Sacramento into contention way back early 2000s
I feel like he can learn so much from Doug and other assistants. I know the Kings aren't known for drafting or developing talent, but I am crazy optimistic about Keegan!
My family are all Iowa Hawkeyes fans and I had the privilege to watch Keegan Murray last December. He is very special and an incredible athlete I hope that the Kings don’t screw up his game because the sky is the limit for this kid.
This kid grew up 15 minutes from me, made me enjoy Iowa basketball for the first time in a while, turned me into a kings fan as soon as he was drafted, and now he's a top rookie on a top team in the league. He'll thrive in the league.
He is already a solid spot up shooter, as he just broke the rookie record for most 3s in season. Now, he needs to work on creating his own shot, defending and rebounding. He seems to be a hard worker with no attitude, his charecter reminds me of Tim Duncan.
lots to like about keegan on and off the court. he seems like a really good guy. also he's a natural lefty which has allowed him to pretty much become ambidextrous when finishing around the rim. just a cool bit of information i found when looking into him.
Keegan joins a young kings team looking to gain valuable experience for their young guys. He fits the team really well. Excited to see what he can do this season and in his career to come.
So much for Keegan’s “slow start”. 😂😂😂 he just continues to prove everyone wrong. He’s already a top 10 shooter in the league just after 2 games. It’s obvious. At every pit stop, he’s showed the same exact things. Incredibly efficient player. Not just a great 3 point shooter but has a deadly mid range. Solid at driving to the basket with his ball control and the way he positions his body; it’s really impressive to see. What I’m most impressed with is his defense! Wow. Deflects so many shots. Rarely gambles but is just so good at keeping his defender in front of him. They put this kid mostly on Paul George and Steph Curry in his first 2 NBA games for gods sake. And he did an amazing job guarding those guys. I’m blown away from this kid. The only question I have with Keegan is if he’s capable of being a number 1 option on a playoff team. He can absolutely be a number 2. He’s already a 20 point scorer already. But can he score 25-27 ppg over a full season? Maybe it takes him a few seasons to be that type of player. He did it last year at Iowa. But it’s different in the nba when u avg 25 a game while being first on every opposing teams scouting report. That’s the real question with him. He’s 2nd on the team in scoring (18PPG) but 7th on the team in USAGE (17%). That is insane. Imagine this guy with just a Jaylen Brown type usage; never mind a high usage guy like Luka, LeBron, Jokic etc. I believe the Kings have a star. And.l I truly believe he will be much better than guys like Middleton, Wiggins, Porter Jr, etc.
Everybody says that he’s going to not have a high ceiling but I’ve seen him play and as a kings fan I’m so excited for him and his future for our team go kings this is the year
Danny Granger is a very very good player. As of right now that’s his ceiling. But that doesn’t mean it can’t go up. The kid is balling again after a rough November. If his growth continues we might see a KD lite or even this season’s Tatum in him in the following years.
I think Keegan Murray will become what Kyle Kuzma was supposed to be. He had a great summer league and looks really polished for a rookie. He had the right attitude and situation in Sacramento to develop into an all star. These are all things that should have happened to Kyle Kuzma. I got Keegan winning ROTY and becoming the number one option in Sacramento by year 2
Idk I think if they keep deaaron fox they'll have Murray as a second option and sabonis as 3rd option especially in Murray's second year maybe by like 3rd or 4th year he'll be a very close second but I think they'll win more if fox is first Murray second and sabonis 3rd
@@Flex2Death idk. Fox has regressed and hasn’t done anything since 2019. Keegan has more potential and I think the kings coach will prioritize his development
As great as a Keegan is going to be, he won't be 1st option. Fox is gonna go down as a top 5 PG. Fox really was sleeping on Fox. While Murray will be part of a big 3 for the Kings.

I like him a lot but the Kings are going to ruin him like everyone else. Even Fox has been “ruined” in SAC. It used to be a legitimate conversation if guys like Ja or Shai were better than Fox, but Fox has become so stagnant while his peers have flourished on other teams
As someone from Iowa no school recruited for Murray because Murry is a Iowa legacy his father played there he made it clear that if he can play at Iowa he is playing at Iowa and it didn't hurt that Fran McCaffrey really wanted him and his brother.
Keagan is a quiet and hard worker. We do like him in the Kings team and as a starter. He is really taking in Mike Brown's coaching on him playing within his role, going strong to the basket and working on rebounds. That's just the simple answer... But he is trusting the process and adding to his production and skills.

I’m not really sure what to make of the Keegan Murray selection. He’s shown decent signs (40% from 3 taking 6 a game is absolutely fantastic for a rookie) but let’s keep in mind that Murray is almost 23 as a rookie. Jaden Ivey was never going Sacramento. They traded away Halliburton, who’s already a top 10 PG in his 3rd season. But Benedict Mathurin was available and he’s 3 years younger, much better defensively, a much better scorer and has much more upside. Right now Mathurin is only shooting 32% from deep but that would be a different story playing with a Jokic type of passing big like Sabonis and a pressure alleviating supporting cast featuring Fox, Huerter and Monk, all of who shoot the 3 very well. After Mathurin things really dry up. There’s a lot of guys who aren’t getting minutes or have just been really bad when on the floor. Murray fits the Kings timeline it seems. Like I said he’s turning 23 which is only 2 years younger than Fox, Huerter and Monk and Sabonis is only 27. The Kings are sick of losing and clearly want to build around Fox (who’s held up his end of the bargain and has been incredible but even with all that being said is he better than Halliburton?). But it’s not like the Kings gave Tyrese away for nothing or something like future assets. I’ve said for a few years now that Sabonis is like Jokic lite he just needs to improve his 3 point shot and he’s shined big time this season. He’s one of the most underrated players in the league leading the league in rebounding scoring nearly 20 per game on unbelievable efficiency while being close to top 10 in assists averaging nearly 8 a game. He’s even shooting 37% from deep which is well above league average and he has all the physical tools to be a great defender, something Jokic can’t say. Unfortunately the track record for players who enter the NBA at an advanced age as rookies isn’t great. Kris Dunn was much older than his fellow lottery picks and he’s now signing 10 day contracts a few years later. Kyle Kuzma was about the same age as Murray and is the same size and although Kuzma is going to get a $100M+ deal and is maybe the 4th or 5th best player on a championship team remember that there were “experts” that were wondering if the Pelicans would ask for him instead of Brandon Ingram in an AD trade. Ingram became an All Star level player because he was much younger and had a lot of development left in him. It’s debatable that Kuzma isn’t much better than he was as a rookie on the Lakers he just has an expanded role. Murray reminds me so much of Kuzma. From his shot to his height to his frame to even how he moves on the court. Is that what you want from a 4th overall pick? I can tell you that there’s certainly been worse but on the flip side there’s obviously been better. Mathurin could really make the Kings (for like the 8th time the last 15 years) severely regret their lottery selection. If Murray blossoms into an 18-20 PPG guy still shooting over 40% from 3 & improves his defense I’m sure the Kings will be happy with this trade. They can always find solace in the fact that they didn’t draft Johnny Davis. A couple years ago Davis to the Kings at #4 would’ve been predetermined by destiny since he’s by far the worst player in the lottery and the Kings were brilliant at drafting whichever player that was that given draft.
