I'm also from Louisiana, Slidell to be exact, and I recently went out of my way to try to find some mello yello after watching RDCworld1's "Off brand drinks" video. I could only find it in a 12 packs at Walmart and Dollar General, and they were like $8. I didn't wanna spend THAT much, and I didn't want an entire 12 pack. I ended up finding 20oz bottles at a gas station in Mississippi, so I bought 2. Fucking delicious, but there's 77 grams of sugar per bottle. It's not something you should consume often.

I didnt start seeing mellow yellow until fairly recently myself. It is sooo much better than mountain dew.
