    Us Zf owners might riot if Flexible Colour picture control does not come to our cameras soon… It’s probably the most obvious place to start I.e. with film simulations and pairs with the camera philosophy perfectly... I already spent a few hours in NX studio to create a really nice Kodak gold 200 sim… only to realise that it can’t be uploaded to the Zf… Please Nikon, extend this feature ASAP or else there might be an uprising! 🙈

    Chris, great summary on a new great camera. Congratulations. Love the improvements on the EVF. QQQ Why not pre-release capture in RAW even if at a lower fps?

    I would love to have the new custom picture controls in my Z6II so I can have consistent color between my photos and videos, and between cameras when I get the Z6III.
    Also, I would like for the Z6III to have RAW pre release capture even if at lower frames per second. Somehow Canon's R6II does it, although it probably has some rolling shutter. With the Z6III's faster sensor, it seems like it should be possible, unless the processor can't handle it. But it seems like it should be able to at least at low frame rates.
    Is there a way to provide direct feedback to Nikon? I have a ton of things I'd like to say and a UA-cam comments section doesn't really seem like the right place for it.

    Chris - if you get get me an answer to the question of how many milliseconds is the sensor read out of the Z6 III's partially stacked sensor? Thank you :)
    -PD
    P.s. In answer to your question, I like that the Z6 III is somewhat of a mini-Z8. That said Nikon should include the "Cycle through AF Modes" option that was introduced on the Z8 and came to the Z9 in FW - this would help to make the experience between the camera more seamless in stills. We should not have to do two steps (i.e. hold a function button and turn the command dial) when we can simply push a function button and cycle through to the AF system that we would like.
    In light of all that has been included in the Z6III, I am actually surprised that this was overlooked (or negated intentionally). Additionally, the Z f should have this function - it would be especially helpful on that camera given its inherent lack of functions buttons etc.
    Thanks for the presentation - it was informative as always!

      Hey, unfortunately Nikon never releases the exact read out speed. Sorry!

      @@chrisogonek4304 Really?!? I didn't realize that since I thought it was stated that the Z8/9 had a 4ms readout - maybe that was some third party tester? Anyway, thanks again for the nice video and please run it up the chain that all expeed 7 Z cameras should have the Cycle AF Modes selection - it just works really well with the gambit of great AF modes provided :)

    Thanks Chris! Can the playback function be mapped back to its traditional position, like in the Z9?

    Thanks for the overview of the great new features. But I'm wondering about an old feature of the Z6 II. Does the Z6 III have 'focus shift shooting"? I use it a fair bit and combined with a faster capture and record it would make some of the trickier table top shoots a lot easier. I'm asking, because I've a lot of experience with manufacturers deprecating/deleting less popular features to make room for the new features.

      I've heard complaints that Nikon's menus are too extensive but with the "my menu" you can make your own little menu so I think cameras should never lose features. It would be cool if we could delete menu items we don't use, for those who want to maintain a tidy my menu and then a larger "full" menu that only encompasses features they actually use.

      Yes, it definitely has Focus Shift Shooting

    Will there be any changes to the card slot door and the strap connectors? I have seen already a few comments regarding it stopping the door from opening

    Asked in the chat - How does the high ISO noise performance compare to previous Z6s? Is there a quantifiable promise of performance, such as the Z6III offers ‘one stop’ lower noise, or some such? Asking for an astrophotographer - me! Thanks Chris!

    • @chrisogonek4304
      @chrisogonek4304 Місяць тому +1

      The Z6III will show similar performance to the Z f, which showed a slight improvement at high ISO performance compared with the Z 6II. Due to them both being BSI sensors, and having very similar pixel pitches, there won’t be a massive one or two stop performance gain.

    What am I surprised at you ask. The semi stacked sensor, Nikon Cloud options & the picture control for the video & oh, 240 in 1080 FHD for slow motion!

    If you can have no blackout when shooting continuous high, presumably by replacing the blackout with images, why not do that at lower shooting speeds? I don't always want to shoot at such high frames per second but I also don't want blackout.

    • @chrisogonek4304
      @chrisogonek4304 Місяць тому +1

      It’s because the Z6III does not have the Dual Stream Technology that is found in the Z 8 and Z 9. Without that, there are limitations you run into at certain frame rates.

    • @bananaman-zd4lq
      @bananaman-zd4lq Місяць тому +2

      @@chrisogonek4304 I'm not an expert but I would think that it would be harder for them to have no blackout at higher frame rates, not lower frame rates. Can't it just delete every other photo? I just don't want to blast away at such high frame rates just to have no blackout. What you're saying seems counter intuitive but I guess if that's how it is then that's how it is. Thanks for responding

    Does the Z6iii require bluetooth for remote shutter release like the Zf? I think an update with a specific bird detection autofcus option would help Nikon bring some of those DSLR holdouts over to the Z6iii. The lack of bird detection makes them think this is not an adequate wildlife camera.

    • @chrisogonek4304
      @chrisogonek4304 Місяць тому

      Which remote are you looking to attach to the Z6III?
      The Z6III does have Animal detection, which includes birds, it just doesn’t have a dedicated bird mode. By using Auto or Animal detect, you wil still get great tracking of birds.

    Why do we need the mechanical shutter?

    • @chrisogonek4304
      @chrisogonek4304 Місяць тому

      The readout speed of the sensor is much faster than a conventional sensor but is still not as fast as the fully stacked sensor found in the Z 8 and Z 9. To ensure it works optimally in all shooting scenarios, it includes both a mechanical and electronic (and electronic front curtain) shutter.

    • @samirkothiwal3748
      @samirkothiwal3748 Місяць тому

      I still don't understand. Does the mechanical shutter have some advantage over the electronic shutter?

    • @chrisogonek4304
      @chrisogonek4304 Місяць тому

      Yes, it has benefits in certain situations; you can shoot with a much faster shutter speed when using flash, and it’s guaranteed to have almost no rolling shutter

    • @samirkothiwal3748
      @samirkothiwal3748 Місяць тому

      What exactly do you mean by rolling shutter?

    • @chrisogonek4304
      @chrisogonek4304 Місяць тому +1

      I’d recommend a quick google search for rolling shutter as it will be much easier to understand with the visuals you will get from there rather than me talking about angled lines and bent golf clubs 😊
