I love this, and I love how he goes into a bit of the history behind the cocktails as well. It would be fantastic to see more like this!
Jamie Oliver's Drinks Tube
Totally agree! There's clearly such a unique and rich history here and this is a great way to tell history's story and get to know more how it influences the flavors you find there.
This video is a perfect example of that it absolutely does not matter where are you from, what did you study. If you are passionate about something, you will success, no matter what. Erik is from my country, Slovakia, and I feel very proud for what he accomplished in such young age. This is such a beautiful thing.
This is one of few Slovak country fellows of mine that I'm really proud of.. And his name was very frequently mentioned in all bars in Bratislava years after he left for London.. legend! Rock on Erik!!!
That was a good one. More videos similar to this would be fantastic.
***** Thanks for the feedback. Glad you liked this as much as we did. Help spread the word and share it via social x
Like Gennaro Contaldo says: FAN-TAS-TIC! The guy knows a lot about cocktails! WOW! Congrats Jamie and all your team!
I have to visit that place one day, drinks looks nice, staff looks nice, he certainly knew what he was doing, that was sweet moves from start to finish
Joakim Figaro Erik must be one of the slickest bartenders around. Silky skills!
I really enjoyed the video. Fantastic! Love how much this bartender loves his job
Im proud that Slovakia has a bartender on this level... but a shame that we have just a few bars here where u can come close to the worldwide level (maybe none of them are even close :D)
The Legendary Savoy is one of those place that is on my top 10 lists of places to go to. The next time I am back home I won't hesitate to go in, have a look and order a cocktail. The High Tea, served there is also not to be missed by all accounts. It will be a full and delicious day and night.
Extremely classy
Wow awesome to see one of THE HEAD bartenders in the world teaching us a thing or two. I would love to see more of this in the future! Maybe at the Artesian bar in London?
The green park is a work of art.
Awesome video, I'll be glad to see more of the Savoy traditional coctails! Greetins from Ukraine and keep up the good work!
This vid definitely inspired me and other younger generations to look in to bartending and experiment with flavours, great vid!!
even the way he stirs is better than anything I've ever achieved
must update my bucket list
this man has hands of magic
Thank you guys!
oh, a new gin cocktail mix i'm in! don't see any imaginative gin mixes where i am
please do more of this kind of profession videos
Love The American Bar, Love The Savoy.
This guy is a pro!! Add him to your team Jamie!!:):)
I can taste this now.A great drink.
To those people who think bartending is a low class job. Think again.
This craft is not just a job, but a passion. Every drop of drink we serve you, is a part of ourselves. Our soul.
Being a bartender is not about being flashy, getting a tip, or making people drunk; but its about gaining trust and good reputation from your guests by offering them world class hospitality and exceeding their expectations.
One good smile from a guest is already a nice tip. A priceless tip.
+Joshua Mario This is one of the best comments we've read in a long time. Thank you so much for your passion!
Please add the captions for the ingredients as you do on other videos. It helps a lot when you don't get the accent 100% right :)
Hey, Jamie and all the people from Drinks Tube. I have tried to find here an aperol spritz recipe. It's perfect for spring time and summertime. Why don't you shoot a video with Gennaro Contaldo or Simone teaching us a very and special recipe for this drink?
3 parts cava/prosecco
2 parts Aperol
1 part soda water
Ice
Slice of orange
Boom!
After reading the menu list for the American bar at the Savoy, I almost fainted upon finding out their most expensive cocktail is £5000. I'll wait a while until I'm a big movie star (or something equally well-paid) before frequenting such a beautiful establishment ;)
+Josh W. There are more affordable cocktails too. It's certainly an experience!
Jamie Oliver's Drinks Tube
Oh definitely. It just amazes me drinks can cost *that* much! I think perhaps on a very special occasion we can perhaps stop in for one or two of their more affordable beverages :)
Perhaps they can introduce a happy hour?
can someone tell me if it would be rude of me to order the Green Park without the eggwhite? I really want to try it, but I'm allergic to eggs.
Guys this is an awesome video, kudos! I would appreciate a little help though, i want to make a Green Park myself, but recipe is incomplete. Gin, how many milliliters? Not the whole egg white, but how much of it? Half? less than half? Erik mentions Orange liqueur in the beginning of the recipe, but i don't see him adding orange liqueur! How many milliliters of orange liqueur? And finally just before serving it to Jamie, he sprays it with something! What's that? I apologize for all these questions, but i want to get this right!! Thanks in advance!
Hey Theodore! The full recipe is in the description up there - take a look and you'll see the whole thing - good luck! x
Very cool edited! Those who edit rarely get any credit but from a fellow UA-camr who edits his own videos - amazing work whoever you are! :D
I totally agree with you, this video is beautifully edited. And after a hard day, my eyes and soul love watching Drinks Tube and Food Tube videos. Jamie's guys and gals are really fantastic. Keep it up, wonderful team!!!
Awesome x
It'd be cool to see one of these "Where's Jamie Drinking?" episodes at the Artesian Bar where Simone bartends.
I misread: "find the recipes below and cry" lol
Love it!
The "Italian aperitif" is Branca Menta if someone's wondering.
I'm pretty sure he uses "Fernet Branca" in this video... the bottles look almost the same but they taste very different. Hope it helps you... alla salute!
Very nice
I am looking for that exact glass. how many ounces is that?
JaeChongMusic It wasn't our glass as it belonged to The American bar but we think it would be around 7 ounces.
Beautiful Bar when I ever visit London i musst go there. But i think i just watch and don't drink i think the prices ther are a bit hige.
but do they do 3 VS for a fiver?
Want to know more about politics? Watch it here -
I can't drink alcohol because I'm epileptic
Karena Marron You should avoid these drinks then. Can we suggest you peruse our selection of soft drinks? ua-cam.com/play/PLlnO2fSQw0mxqOyVt02nYW__1AO0jZ_II.html
erik is for bartenders somewhat what jamie is for chefs and yet he calls fernet an aperitif..hmm
How do you become a bartender? Do you need a special education or is it more like learning by doing?
+Harry Potter Most people learn on the job and work their way up to their dream bar!
Thisis my absolute favourite bar in the World. Back in the 1980s I was working in the City and my small department of 7 people would often go out for a meal or a drink. Somebody knew about this place and we would frequently end up there (I was a country-boy, so didn't know about such places).
I realise that it has been refurbished since then, but I was blown away by the fact that you could find a bar in central London where you could always get a seat, there was somebody playing the piano, and they gave you a free plate of snacks with your drinks. I guess it must have been expensive, but as a single man working in the City in the 1980s, I didn't feel like I'd been robbed. I still remember how much a cocktail was back then, it was £14.50, but with free snacks and a piano, it seemed like great value for what it was.
Even visiting the toilets was interesting, with fresh (real) towels and somebody to brush your jacket shoulders down (I didn't have dandruff, but while washing my hands, I still received a free brush down!).
You can clearly see how he loves his job..Excellent!
***** He's a legend.
