The splash screen bit is a real kick in the teeth to anyone who says Blender is not industry ready. I dig it.
But it's always a bit concerning when a big company creeps up to a free product...
@@evgeniydeus8137There is a huge difference between free and open source. Sony can either contribute, and be happy, or kick rocks. There is no gray area. The ONLY thing they could do is make their own internal version, and never release it to the public. Instead they chose to contribute. Which good on them. Not something I would expect from Sony.
Thanks for the video and the Mesh Cleaner tool, it works a treat.
Hi there and thank you very much for the nice feature video.
Finally a good glare. That's super nice to see. But also the other features are welcome ones.
Cheers and thank you for taking the time!

The code wont apply for me - "Sorry, the discount code you wish to use is invalid" ~ any ideas?
@potusuk yes. There was a typo. The code is SALE35.
Thanks for making Mesh cleaner!!
These are great additions. Definitely worth "upgrading to Blender four-point-four for". 😁
shared to large group of blenderinos
So the Glare node just means they brought back Bloom because everyone was upset?
they brought back more settings that old bloom had
Thank you
Oh, my goodness! I just installed the 4.3.2. version. 😏
Edit: I was looking for a mesh cleaner! So thx.
Does this implementation of the H.265 video codec support alpha?
Usually if the codec where to support alpha channel it would say "RGBA" in the color options bellow "file format" but it doesn't show in the video (5:19)
But maybe it does and the option is somewhere else since the documents about blender 4.4 mentions that FFmpeg supports alpha channel. 🤔
That’s why I ask. It is possible to use alpha with the VP9 codec. That does work. I have done it. The H.265 specification allows for alpha, but some implementations have not yet enabled support.
How do you install the mesh cleaner? In the usual way? Because I can't see it in the N panel. Thanks.
@@creativeedgestudiosltd yes the usual way. Just go to add-ons, select install from your hard drive then pick the python file. It won't appear until you're in edit mode of an object.
@@DECODEDVFX thank you, I spent 45 min trying to figure this out.. I'm new to Blender. could you add this to the docs or FAQ : )
I see you are working on a hulk scene, realease it asap pls :)
Coming soon :) 🟩
What About Light Linking In EEVEE ?
I find it interesting that you mention h.265 but not AV1 even though AV1 is better than h.265 and free and open source on top of that. They finally also added the opus audio codec which is the best lossy audio codec on the market (also free and open source).
i think none is better. H264 is better in my opinion for Hd and below, it doesnt remove noise and details. H265 always remove tiny details like if there is a glare or light streak overlayed on sky even if u use same bitrate or file size with h264 and h265 if video is 1080p.
Its more like
h264 -> for upto 1080p or 1440p
h265/av1 -> after1080p
av1 take too long to encode than h265. And it smoothen tiny details more even though it keep edge details/ clarity better. and harder to play in many video players. So it feel like it need time. But yes i wish we had that as option too.
You titled the video "everything you need to know" but don't mention the single most important thing about 4.4, multi-object animation?
did u mean the slotted actions?
I googled this but having trouble with that exact term coming up, are you referring to being able to have like an adjustment layer that controls multiple properties with one keyframe timeline?
@@phantomcraneflymusic In Blender 4.4, a single action can animate multiple objects and all their properties. "Layered animation" will come later, under the Animation 2025 project that they've been talking about for like 2.5 years now.
@@mcrafe Slotted actions are a part of it, but I mean "you can animate multiple objects with one action".
Do you mean action slots?
That wall is too much smoothed out i think (unless wall material is only a color without any color map or roughness map or any bump map) . Maybe Its not like an improvement without drawbacks. before I liked nvidia denoiser because it didnt remove details caused by color variations in pixels (unlike intel) . Now it seem like it removes details by making it too smooth like intel. I prefer some details to remain in the form of slight noise and irregularity than being fully smoothened just because it cant guess how detail looks without noise. I will probably use 4.3 version if i render things with nvidia denoiser. I prefer slight noise to remain rather than losing details. I wish they had more settings in denoisers so we can decide smoothing emount etc. These AI denoisers lack flexibility
To be honest I'm still waiting for real time ray tracing for Eevee, Screen space does the job for certain scenes but I wish it was more like Lumen in UE5
now we r like in UE3
(onlyscreenspace)
first they need be like UE4 if they can implement vulkan (realtime raytracing)
then they can try to be like UE5
(lumen) if they can be talented enough to create such unique multi-method dependent smart system .
so it will take 5 years min i think because blender seem like it like to try old techs by following same steps instead of just skipping some steps and trying to implement newest one.
but when we have realtime raytracing in blender,
UE5 will have realtime pathtracing enhanced lumen which is even better than current lumen and as good as a pathtracer.
😢 So i hope blender can skip some steps instead of following old steps..
all i want is guides working on grease pencil.
