THE EYEBROW RAZOR METHOD WORKS PERFECT

I use my sewing machine [Singer 201] as a helping hand to take out stitches. Put one side of the fabric under the pressor foot, drop the needle down in the fabric. Gently pull the fabric open to see the stitching and than use a seam ripper. I also have a Helping Hand tool that clamps onto my work table.
Razor blade is so much easier and faster with less damage to the material.
Razors are great. What's even quicker now is a 0 Gap electric razor. It takes 2 minutes to even convert you're existing electric raiser into 0 gap, literally 2 minutes.
In paper piecing with the short stitch length, I had a teacher show us to use our rotary cutter (very carefully) to slice through the center between the two fabrics. Works well.
Zero gap hair razor. You can even use your own razor and turn it into a 0 gap razor it takes 2 minutes.
