Never forget that in Tokyo drift, the jock at the start of the movie says his Viper does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. Congrats bro, a Miata is faster that your daddy’s viper
Looking at the GoPro footage, then checking the timestamp for when the car starts to move, and when it hits 55mph on the speedo (60mph due to the un-factory trans/diff). It's probably not super accurate to "real world" stuff, but it was at least consistent! Draggy coming soon to see what it can actually do :)
Let’s take a minute we got Miata dad and the red head ginger mister ging themselves talking here I’ve never been happier to see the Miata game strong with the two quickest miatas here with the Mazda 4cylinder motors my life been made y’all need to collaborate soon
I want to get to a point where I can fabricate my own parts, if something breaks just whip out the jig and make a new one, it's cheaper and you don't have to wait for shipping unless you're out of metal
Dude, I still can't beleive how far you've come. You went from USING HOT GLUE ON WIRES, to FABRICATING MINT CUSTOM CONTROL ARMS. I love your work, keep it up! Well done.
How does Gingium not have more subscribers, Adam LZ had to hire Mike to get the level of production quality in these videos, not to say he doesn't deserve it, or that the videos where bad before Mike by any means. But I really hope you get more subs, you and Pasha definitely work hard enough, really enjoyed, keep up the good work
Im gonna be honest, I haven’t been watching the channel for a while. But now that i’ve come back i notice an immense increase in video quality and effort. Glad to see you’re evolving the channel and your style Caleb, keep it up🤙🏼
Been like a year since I last watched your videos and man you came a long way I remember back when you first turboed the Miata and it’s changed alllooot 👍🏽
Oh my. This channel has changed completely you just got sent to my feed and I remember watching the hell outta forza videos. You even still gave the same car. That's really cool because I just bought my first car, an fbody with a 6.0 LQ9 it ate bearings lost oil pressure after I bought it. Turbo 350 slips in reverse at operating temp, and the stock 10bolt has no future if it sticks around for fbody 2.0. Oh and also I love this turbo miata it's so damn clean and OEM+ is the look I would call it.
So you actually want +0,5 - +1 degree of camber. See if you launch your car and it Squats down the rear wheels get negative camber. So if your stock is 0 it is -0,5 (for example) and you're still not putting all power to the ground
Hey man you have it backwards you want a slight negative beacuse when you acceleratate itll sqaut down flat on the tires to nearly 0 degrees then lift off slightly at higher speed.
Gingium, you need gusseting at the joints, and it doesn't look like you beveled the pipe for better penetration. I'd also add if you joint the two sides on the center mount, instead further back like you did, it will be significantly more rigid. Just hoping these don't break and end up doing a lot of damage to Molly.
You should do some more time tests. IE: 60-100, 45-100, 25-60, aka rolling starts. you should test passing time, etc. I feel like those give a person more of a feeling of how fast a car is and feels, rather than 0-60 which can be entirely dependent on grip.
Man your video quality is just skyrocketing, good job making the whole thing fluid and nice to watch! And, your miata makes me want to trade my car in and buy one lol.
Great work & brilliant results mate... You probably already know but 2 ways you could potentially get better rear grip is to soften the rear suspension and / or add a little bit of positive camber to cancel out the negative camber created when launching. However, it may affect the way your MX5 handles everywhere else, so a bit of trial & error to get it how you like it 😉👍🏻 Great work though.
Having 0° of static camber means that under any real lateral Gs, you'll be seeing positive camber on the outside rear tyre, which will give way to unwanted mid corner oversteer- and that slows you down. Once you've finished drag racing with John's civic, I'd reset the camber to around -1° to -1.5° at the rear, and around the same or maybe a little more at the front. Having no camber is great for the launch, but not what you want when trying to tackle corners. I'm sure you'll sort it out 👍
Yep! The great thing about these control arms is that I can adjust camber without adjusting any other alignment spec. So I can change camber to fit whatever driving experience!
@@_Gingium_ that sounds great, although I'd be sure to measure Toe afterwards anyway- on my E36 the rear had masses of toe in when it had 3.5° negative camber, even though I hadn't touched the toe angle. Good luck beating john!
I'm really torn here. I love your channel and I love your builds so I want you to beat the Civic...but as a Front Wheeler myself I also want to see Johns Civic win one for us...
Just fyi face shields aren’t for impacts like safety glasses or goggles so yeah take that into consideration pls you’re supposed to use them in conjunction with safety glasses on first. Source: OSHA Certified
I would buy those in a heart beat over the ones on sale now, because you engineered them to maintain the factory shape of the original control arms which reduces a lot of headaches
Have you tried it with positive rear camber? Just for the sake of a launch. Since the car squats and you have unequal length upper and lower controll arms when the car squats you get camber gain (more negative), if you start with some positive camber you should have closer to zero degrees during peak load. Correct me if im wrong tho.
Love the quality man, definitely improved on this one! In my opinion molly looks much better here. Before it looked like a young teen owned her but with the matching colors it looks like a refined race car. Keep working! I enjoy your content!
Have you tried doing positive camber? On paper it's bad, but actually when you accelerate hard it'll make the back squat a bit so you overcompensate that, by giving it a little tiny bit of positive camber
the best camber for independet rear suspension for launching is +2 ou +3 degrees, maye be even a bit more, yes it is good for straight line only, once your car rear gets grip on the ground, your positive camber will be around 0, if you keep it zero, when h lauch it goes to -5...-8, it depends on how har is your struts and shock/coilover, positive camber is shit for sharp turns, for high speed turns, the best is negative, specially on the front tyres
you should do some 2 step to it might help with the launch... it also sounds sick. feel free to call me out for not watching everthing if it already has that. tho im pretty sure ive seen them all
I remember being in one of your Forza Motorsport 6 videos when I was in the sixth grade, and it was a day I will never forget. Now, you’ve built Molly up to the point where it can beat my 2001 Corvette C5 in a drag race. Congratulations on how far you have come, and keep on doing what you’re doing.
Bro, you're doing a kick ass job at fabbing shit lately, when you make shit like this you should get it powder coated some off the wall colors! just something to make your work stand out, or pop!
We have almost identical miatas aside from the turbskee. One of the parts I would like to make for my Miata is a rear diffuser and make it fit right up where the bumper cut is. Would be an interesting video if you make one out of stainless or aluminum.
Hey, I've got a civic shell, built motor and built trans I want you to have and build. I won't have the time to finish it, figured ide let it go to good home.
i would like to suggest that for you to drop these 0-60 times even more you should consider enabling flat foot shifting and see if it makes a diference
I have a 93 turbo miata. I doubt mine is over 250hp. It is a flying miata big ball bearing turbo from around 2005. I don't understand why he is not launching in second and holding it to 60mph. Maybe I have much worse traction issues but it will easily spin the wheels rolling into the throttle up to 60.
Do you have a parts list of everything done to the car? I am currently doing a build like yours and have the forged motor ready to go but want to know everything else you got for it bc I don’t know anything about the mechanical side of cars.
I would love to know how much are you saving by going out of your way to make your own control arms. I always wondered whether to spend time learning such a craft
Can we take a minute to recognize our boy. He went from welding wonky roof racks on a Toyota previa to making his own control arms. Well done my man.
Bro he went from built vs bought on forza wym 😅😅
you mean WELD-one my man
Bruh he went from hotgluing electrical wires together to fabricating a tube chassis for an entire drivetrain swap
I can still remember the days where he cut everything with an anglegrinder on a bucket and now... He has a fixed vice
You guys are too nice 😄
I wouldn't have been able to learn any of these skills without all you guys!
Never forget that in Tokyo drift, the jock at the start of the movie says his Viper does 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. Congrats bro, a Miata is faster that your daddy’s viper

Sean beat him anyway😝
Congratulations, you can read the brochure.
What was the method used for recording the data?
Looking at the GoPro footage, then checking the timestamp for when the car starts to move, and when it hits 55mph on the speedo (60mph due to the un-factory trans/diff). It's probably not super accurate to "real world" stuff, but it was at least consistent!

I like these wheels a lot, but i dont like the turnsignal intakes now. Black was cool.
Also idk about the splitter yet.
I remember you drag racing on Forza 6 and having a chair that smelled like cat pee. Its certainly been a while!
beeps0 lmfaooo the pee chair
maybe try a bit of positive camber so when it squats you get a bigger contact patch (that is assuming the camber decreases and the susp compresses)
^^^^This
It is double wishbone so the camber gain under squat is not a ton, but it definitely could work 👍
4:30 man you really need a wider lens on that camera lmao.
I LOVEEEE THE NEW LOOK 😍 especially those wheels!!

Watching Ging fab is just so satisfying, especially with the nice editing. Solid work!
The welding sounds mixed with the beat was awesome.
