I appreciate your adventure into the Spiritual Exercises and the life of St Ignatius. I was introduced to the Exercise 16 years ago. I did the exercises in daily life which is helpful for my life. I want to advance my self-study and exercises as there is no Jesuit around. I Couldn't find important staffs like Christotherapy (Bernard Tyrrel), Discernment of Spirits (Jules Toner), etc. Wishing many blessings from the war torn #Tigray/East Africa.
New territory on my road to get closer to My God--fascinating stuff about St. Loyola, how he became a Christian, then wrote those exercises to strengthen the Bond forming with our Lord and Creator 😊
Oh yes, St. Ignatius had a fascinating life. There's a movie about him that I highly recommend. Here's the trailer: ua-cam.com/video/buL2q3SUZnE/v-deo.html&t
@@BiblicalBookworm I dunno , it's just an funny thought to see St. Ignatius on his sick bed just all of a sudden decide " Hey I am going to be a Saint ". To take inspiration from the Lives of the Saints and live holy is one thing , but to just decide I'm going to be a Saint is humorous. I'm not sure anyone just up and decides to be a Saint. It may happen over time with a commitment to holiness, but to just decide to be one of the most prominent saints in God's Kingdom makes me chuckle for some reason. Anyway , I just found your channel through Reason and Theology and will follow. I like your style. Be Blessed +t+
Thank you Elisabeth for the very helpfull information. I wish that I had had the opportunity to listen to it before I did my first spiritual exercises. God bless you❤
Thank you for this video. I appreciate the breakdown in the exercises and this encouraged me to go ahead and do them. Out of curiosity, and because I am a newer Catechumen, what would make someone a bad Catholic? Again thank you for the video. God bless.
A "bad Catholic" would be a Catholic that isn't practicing his/her faith, so someone who just calles himself/herself Catholic without living a Catholic life.
You have to bear in mind that they have been developed by a soldier. I highly recommend watching the movie "Ignacio de Loyola", there you will see the story behind the spiritual exercises and it will give you a better understanding of who St. Ignatius was. @@jasonx3069 I´m happy you´re here! I will do a series about apologetic books after Easter 2022, maybe that will be helpful for you. Regarding the movie: I watched it before I cared about the catholic faith that much and it fascinated me so maybe you´ll like it too...
HOW TO BE SAVED: Repent: Acts 20:21 Authorized (King James) Version “testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 7:9 "Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing." KJV. 2 Corinthians 7:10 "For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." KJV. Understand YOU ARE A SINNER and only The Lord Jesus Christ can save you: Romans 3:20-26 Authorized (King James) Version “20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.” Romans 3:10 "as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" KJV. @lonniestoute8762 At one point when as a child i think our family had Catholic and Protestants, but when I got older I knew i wasnt saved and was on my way to hell and i wanted to find out how to be saved and found the Gospel written by the Apostle Paul in 1Corinthians 15:1-4. The other verses are to help. I am a Bible believer, not protestant or catholic, actually catholicism has some very dangerous practices in it and that helped me get my mom away from it. I have some videos comparing the Baltimore Catechism and other practices to scriptures. We need to be believing by the King James Bible only.
The only spiritual exercise Christ our Savior did was to pray, to his and our Father . Spending time in prayer with God. Scripture teaches we are to be like him ,comformed to his image I think we should follow Jesus and scripture Alone in this matter rather than any exercises of person. For Holy spirit is the one that gives the ultimate discernment in Every Matter in life and sheds light on subtle temptations and sins. I say this because the things you described about spirits the good the bad, seem so extra biblical i mean the language ,vocab And BTW satan does not use scprit or plans he uses Anything And Everything to lead us away from Jesus, very subtly. Again it should the Holy Spirit that should be only comfort and hope in this God bless

HOW TO BE SAVED:
Repent:
Acts 20:21
Authorized (King James) Version
“testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”
2 Corinthians 7:9
"Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing." KJV.
2 Corinthians 7:10
"For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death." KJV.
Understand YOU ARE A SINNER and only The Lord Jesus Christ can save you:
Romans 3:20-26
Authorized (King James) Version
“20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. 21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 to declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.”
Romans 3:10
"as it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:" KJV.
Put your faith in the Gospel:
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
"Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 by which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:" KJV
For added assurance of salvation, call upon the name of The Lord (The Lord Jesus Christ) for salvation:
Romans 10:8-13
"But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; 9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. 13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." KJV.
Amen, speak truth.
