Spoiler alert: thanks to Jose's videos, came back in December 2021 and signed a contract to build a new home in Venice Woodlands. Thank you for making these videos! You helped me a lot! Will be Nokomis resident by 2023.
We live in north fl on a homestead we love it here to day it is 83 God bless you and your we bought our property from Jim Jean reality 4 acres on up Jackie in north fl
Look around Chiefland in Levy co. and also Gilchrist. They are building like crazy in west Gainesville . There is shopping and restaurants and the best medical. Check out Riverwalk and silver oaks neighborhoods with deed restrictions. Do not wait to long prices will rise!
I think "The Villages" is becoming way too big. I wonder how they will keep the home values up with so much inventory. I think you were having some fun with the community being for "elderly" people but that was not really the best description of the community. My parents and their friends LOVE TO GOLF...for a few years about 10 of them rented houses in The Villages in Feb-March to golf and party..oh yes, they did they ever party!! I went to visit some times and had a blast with them. they were actually hard to keep up with. hahahahaha The people are friendly and the place truly is gorgeous. I like that it is centralized somewhat and we were able to visit the coasts for fishing and sun. We liked that Ocala and Gainesville are nearby as well. There is a ton of support/activities for easy living and it allows people to be with their own generation, have homes and yards that are very easy to maintain etc. There are many more younger people now too. 55 IS NOT even close to being elderly!! My impression is that with all the sun, golfing and easy living, people are much younger in spirit and much healthier than they would be at home shoveling snow and hibernating/eating comfort food. a little bit of Florida is truly necessary for everyone. Those of us who barely see the sun and who work very hard to shovel snow and protect our homes from a harsh environment sure appreciate the break... so please be understanding about people flocking to your state. it's a matter of maintaining our health and sanity. i don't think the place is for me but I can see the attraction.
The Villages is by far the best place to retire in. 1 hour to the Atlantic, 1 hour to the golf. But there is so much to offer in The Villages it’s hard to leave. 14 champion golf courses close 50 executive courses but if don’t play golf there 2 thousand clubs to join, it’s for all prices budget or for those who have have higher standards. It is getting pretty big but they have 3 small towns that offer everything.. Up to over 150 miles of golf cart paths. All ages there. The south side are averaging the young retirees it starts at age 55. The north side is older on average but if you are on a budget the north side would be good for you. You should try and take life a style visit to see for yourself. I don’t work for the Village’s just one that was a resident, and it’s a good way to spend the rest of your life.
This video was one of the best perspectives I have seen on this topic. I watched another SE vs SW which I really wanted some perspective on and the video went really off track. Glad I stayed open minded to see this.
Seems like your trying to gauge my views to determine rather you are willing to hear my opinion? if you wanna hear only yourself just record yourself and play it back. Its good to be open minded SIR, its a great thinking asset to be willing to expand your thinking not contract into it!. 😁
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS We all interpret our reality through the lens we carry around with us based on how we interpreted our past experiences. This is not a fixed reality but a fluid one. When something we interpreted from our past changes because we reinterpret it then everything changes. Thanks for the videos on South Florida have lived in Tampa 20 years and want to get away from the big city and go further South. Just me slowing down the hamster wheel I have been running on.
You didnt mention any east coast places further north. I was raised in the Daytona area. Ormond Beach, Ormond by the Sea, Daytona Beach, Daytona Shores, South Daytona, Port Orange, New Smyrna Beach, Edgewater, and Oak Hill are full of retirees too, and lots of awesome places, not too expensive either. (The only places that I listed, that I hadn't lived in, is Ormond Beach and Ormond by the Sea.) I live about 8 miles from Jupiter, right now, but have decided to move back to Port Orange, ( where I was raised) I am 61. I will be looking for an active over 55 myself. 😊 but since I was raised there, I know where to look, (I only moved from there 3 years ago). I feel it's time to go back home. 😊
Here's one big advantage to the Villages - you don't pay coastal homeowners premiums! That having been said, you DO pay a fairly significant amenities fee, so don't buy there unless you're gonna use it! GOLF - pickleball, tennis, the swimming pools, the usual old people sports (shuffleboard, bocce), but who wants to pay $150 a month to play shuffleboard? You really need to use those rec centers, get involved with the hundreds of lifestyle clubs for every interest you can think of. And golf cart really is the way to get around, especially since 466 jams up so bad during the day and the South End is expanding in every direction. I have this mortal fear of wiping out one of those golf carts! Contrary to popular opinion, you don't have to be filthy rich to live in the Villages, although there's plenty of places for you if you are! Was (pleasantly) surprised to see Lakewood Ranch come in at #1. The fastest-growing planned community in the state keeps seesawing between Lakewood Ranch and the Villages. Right now, I think the Villages has it.
Yes, pictures of traffic and strip malls, does not make me want to retire somewhere. I think I would just retire in my crappy house right where I am. At least I have a yard.
In a lot of these 'Best Places to" in Florida, I keep hearing the name "The Villages". I won't say anything about the place other than to suggest that you Google it. Don't add qualifiers, just Google "The Villages, FL".
This guy has never Traveled a 100 miles away from Orlando He's missing the best part of the state for retirement try looking at the Panhandle And by the way PensacolaIs one of the fastest growing areas In the state

Not sure I would say this is middle class, but I did like your list and I will say it was better than most of the other You Tubers lists.

have you ever thought that not everyone likes golf and snobs? 😅
Do you have any videos of economically pheasable cities in Florida for people on a fixed income but are safe to live in?
Perfect video😊
Thanks! 🙂
Can you do a video on northern Florida,
Best towns to live in the panhandle!!!
That really would help.
Thank you
Look into santa rosa county
*Northern Florida is changing rapidly, and is more like the Old South.*
Cool

Check out On Top of the World in Ocala. If you're okay with a manufactured home, check out Smith Lake Village in Belleview.
I like that area , specially west of 75
What do you think of Port Richey and Dunedin area, close to beach.
I agree with Lakewood ranch, otherwise too expensive.

Hey Jose isn't Cypress Lakes up in Lakeland off of Route 4
I was in Dunedin and Clearwater last spring, fantastic places but expensive
Yeah good place for a florida vacation when its cold up north
Don’t bother too crowded and expensive
What happened to Cape Coral & Port Saint Lucie ?
Re Venice: You go to Florida for the conservative views. The last thing I need is a place that feels like CA.
Florida conservative! 😅 you crack me up
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS Yup. Love the Governor there!
You forgetting the panhandle you got Destin Panama City Pensacola plus a bunch more ??????
Might go there soon
Except it’s the number one place for hurricanes eekkk I lived in Fl
All of the places you mentioned are very expensive to live in and have lots of traffic.
In cheap places you have crimes, drugs and violence.
Cost of living is actually lower than in major metro areas up north. Traffic doesn't compare. Sorry, you don't know anything.

yeah, i like small town. small town but big city comforts
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS- the Villages ain't such a small town anymore. 😉
You are funny!
What about North fort myers.
Not enough pictures of each area.

Wow....that's crazy......sounds apmost like a soviet style living with so many restrictions.

Sounds like great areas for sure. I also check the sink hole map when looking at possibilities.

Any nice areas in northern parts?
Bella Rose crest-view and yulee
