    Such a cutie. Also be careful when combing his hair with knots so forcefully. Try holding the hair at the root before forcing the comb through so it's not pulling at his scalp.

    The way you start braiding his hair up top it's perfect, but midway you want to switch your hands and start braiding underhand if that makes any sense. This way your hans will be closer to his scalp and it creates that tightness that you're looking for at the bottom. Good luck! I think you're doing a great job, it takes practice!:)

    Thanks for the tips! I use similar products but mostly leave in conditioner to keep their curls shape in between days of washing/detangling. Also lots of detangling spray and oil. With 2 toddler boys and a newborn baby girl there’s lots of curly hair in this household & I want to learn hairstyles to try for them!

  • @Walexanmar

    Try a tangle teezer brush instead of the wide tooth comb. It is really gentle, and gets the tangles out quickly. My little guy has hair just like this, and making the switch was a game changer.

    • @Walexanmar
      @Walexanmar 5 років тому +5

      Also, try letting him run around a little bit before starting the second braid. The attention span just isn't there when they are so young.

    I like that you say you're not perfect in this. I have 2 mixed boys with lots of hair. My older one has afro hair at the front, back and on the side but at the top he has an area which has bigger curls...still try to find the perfect brush and a way to do their hair. You're doing great. Cute little one

    I put my squirmy 1 year old in his high chair. It's the only way he won't do a 360 turn while I'm doing his hair. His curls are much tighter and harder to comb through. I also recommend a spray bottle to have a mix water and detangler. I like to use the Cantu Kids Detangling spray.

    After you braids put a Durag on to make it go down. That’s what our stylist told us, I’m trying to learn how to braid my nephews hair. I’ve had custody for a year and his hair is hard for me since none of my kids are biracial.

    Try a rat tail comb. It has a pointy end for parting the hair

  • @user-tn8li8os1w

    Aww you're son is so cute and his curls are beautiful. Just a helpful tip when combing curly hair out you should hold the hair at the root and always start combing from the bottom up to the root(a detangling/shower brush works best for me); it will save you a lot of time and cause less damage on the hair. Also a rat tail comb makes parting way easier. But good job mom his hair looks great I'm glad to see your putting in an effort for your child's hair 😊

    You should get a blow dryer with a comb attachment that ways it’s easier to braid his hair because if it’s curly it will be harder to braid. So u should get that on amazon or a hair store and use it to blow dry is hair straight.

    • @BurpeesBulgolgi
      @BurpeesBulgolgi  4 роки тому +1

      Definitely a good idea. I forgot about that attachment!

    • @sheeniqueb

      Burpees & Bulgolgi also too get Indian hair dress grease, there are different kinds but the one I use is green. Also get hair and braid condition it’s an orange grease, I got both from amazon.

      And when braiding his hair at the bottom try to take lesser sections when ur braiding it when your getting close to the bottom so it can go all the way down

    So adorable, but I have the same problem with my some on the parting, I don’t think it’s the way we do it, it’s there head... as much as I try to make it straight it’s uneven... think cuz their hair isn’t use to it 1 and 2 hair still growing in... VS when I do my daughters and she is 9...

    • @BurpeesBulgolgi

    Cantu is so baddd, trust me if you use monat junior line it literally keeps his curls so perfect and the conditioner softens the hair so you can braid it after drying the hair. Holla if need help with products. I have a 2 year and his hair grew so much and curl pattern stays so natural

      it's funny because recently someone said the same thing, I'm going to steer away from this product.
