  • My RTI Prophet II started leaking after a couple off 100 shots, so I took it apart and recorded the disassebly steps.

    Excellent, well done.
    I had the same problem, fortunately RTI collected the p2 and rectified the problem. Credit to RTI.
    I was all set to disassemble but my wife thought differently. She won.

    Usually these models leak at lower pressures because the material that closes the opening in front of the outlet is too hard. You can only help yourself with a spring that will be harder (have a smaller number of coils) or to increase the working pressure. In this model, it is the pressure that exerts pressure on the power of the closed blast valve itself. In the older model, this task was performed by a spring.

      @AirgunNL  2 роки тому +4

      Yes indeed, but this one leaked also at high pressure.
      The valve spring in other models is there to close the valve again quickly after opening. It is not kept closed by the spring power. That is done by the pressure in the plenum itself. This is also the case with this valve only it closes itself quickly assisted by the plenum air, but after that the pressure in the plenum keeps it closed.

    my p2 has just started doing this also so ill be either sending it back or fitting the replacement parts but rti customer service is really good so hopefully it will be back up and running soon

    • @AirgunNL
      @AirgunNL  Рік тому

      It is an easy fix but you need to add glue to the valve pin thread. Otherwise it will leak again due to the fact that the valve nut will loosen due to the hammer strikes.

    The older version looks sturdier .Unfortunately even the updated version has got some problems ,the first version suffered from regulator problem .However,this airgun is super accurate and sturdy when adjusted and tuned the way you like it .

    There’s an Allen screw on the regulator on mine it’s much faster to empty the air.

      Yes, newer models like P-3 have that.

    A quick update after another leak (same issue). The problem was not the nr, 60 o-ring but the valve pin nut comes loose from the valve pin (nr. 33 and nr. 34). Then o-ring nr. 55 breaks.
    See these spare parts www.rtiarms.shop/collections/parts-addons/products/spare-parts-rti-prophet-ii
    The fix is to add some loctite or glue to the valve pin thread and then screwing on the valve pin nut (and place a new o-ring nr. 55 of course).

    Is there a separate metal valve seat like some PCPs or the valve just seals on part of the block? If its like that it will be difficult to polish. At time 4:17, the inside of part 36 looks quite rough. Thanks for showing internals. Interesting valve. I think Gregor will show a strip down soon.

    • @AirgunNL
      @AirgunNL  2 роки тому +1

      There is no seperate seat. I polished the plastic valve seal and made it a bit concave.

    I Have the Priest 2 and my leak seems to be coming from the bottle / reg or the reg/flash stock. Are there o rings in these two areas that could also cause a leak. My leak occurred after a cross-country plane trip where I drained the pressure and when I attempted to fill the gun again i heard a pop and big leak sounds from the bottle area.

    • @AirgunNL
      @AirgunNL  Рік тому +1

      Yes there are o-rings. On the bottle and on the regulator thread. Use some soap water to check where the leak exactly is and unscrew the bottle and regulator and replace the oring.(13x2 or 17x3 (mm)) www.rtiarms.eu/assets/docs/RegulatorPriestExploded7.pdf

    Leuk een Nederlander die een kanaal heeft maar spijtig in het Engels. Ik vind het raar ondanks dat de sport meer bij jullie dan hier in België beoefend wordt heb ik nog maar een iemand gevolgd die bijdragen levert. Is het uit schrik dat de flikken meekijken.? Gelukkig zijn er goede kanalen in het U.K en in de U.S.A. Haal er alle informatie uit video's en veel reviews vooraleer ik een nieuw stuk aankoop in Nederland omdat er meer zaken zijn en geweren mogen in België met koeriers of met Bpost niet opgestuurd worden. Heb ook al in Spanje gekocht. Zou graag eens weten hoeveel onze staat aan belastingen misloopt (21%). Als ik mijn eigen rekening maak, heel veel. Veel succes verder en blijf gezond en schiet veilig.

      Bedankt voor je feedback. Ja in het Engels, want anders is het bereik erg klein... Opsturen van buksen is idd lastig. Ik heb geprobeerd een 2e handse van mijn collectie naar USA te sturen, naar UPS en DHL werken er niet aan mee, helaas.

      @@AirgunNL Ja, je staat telkens met je rug tegen de muur. Zolang je maar binnen Europa blijft en dan nog. Hoop dat de wetten niet binnen kortste tijd veranderen in Nederland en België. Je weet beslist wel de toegelaten joules in de Europese landen. Maar 7.5 is dus helemaal niks zoals in Duitsland en toch zijn er daar die een FX kopen. Als je al een dure Hw of Diana koopt, daar kan ik me wel in vinden. Nu er zullen daar ook wel illegale luchtwapens circuleren. Zolang je maar oplet en goede buren hebt. Ja de tijd dat ik .22 munitie en hagelpatronen kreeg aan de toonbank van een wapen/ fietsenmaker op 10 jarige leeftijd is al lang voorbij. Denk daar vaak nostalgisch aan terug. Doei! Belgen zeggen salut.
