important thing to note for the rats. because this is a persistent world, you can actually re gear and try to get your kits back. they said that bodies will stay on map for an hour after you die and you can infil again and reclaim your body.
Thats just more fodder for the rat!

The buildings are soooo life-like. That's almost looks like any South-East Asian villages and towns. The devs really did their research properly!
And the player models as well. They look like everyone has some loot in their a$$ nice and tight.

What you see now is exactly how the game will look on release, it's a typical asset dump unreal engine game

@@justinn5357 I think the issue is more so that they're trying to make it look more tactical than real life as stank rat said so four dudes walk in side by side. It just looks very similar. Very sterile like they only have one walking model instead of slight variations

9:12, height over bore was the reason for him not being able to hit the man through the fence. He was not adjusting for the metal bar going across, which was barely 3 feet in front of his barrel. You can see the impact marks from trying to shoot him through it.

I am pretty sure that small arms fire only travels about 700-800m. So you will never hear them over a km.
The gun size and recoil actually looks great. It feels like it looks irl
Right recoil looks good maybe some minor tweaks but guns don't fly to the sky or the camera recoil doesn't seem absurd

They said that for now you need rtx 2070 or 2070S(don't remember exactly) for 1080p minimum or as 1080p recommended(medium/high settings)i think.
Devs have in plans add seasonal floods (which will make map different for some time and block some lz's) and different behavior of enemies at night, night misions and more.

4:50 thats why they should remove jumps and add a lot to stamina. Making a long term stamina drain, that would recover only at base. And depending on your weight it should be even worse

It would be good if they eventually tweak character movement where we all don't run and flop around or look like robots in sync.
Okay I get the location and environment… but they will use that to the advantage of having a huge map. In reality the map is maybe 13 shanty towns with tons of rice paddies and rivers and dense jungle or unclimbable terrain. How much of this map are you actually utilizing? Thats the issue Wildlands had but it had way more travel by vehicle and you would run into a lot of enemies that way. Also similar to Ghost of Tsushima - there’s a lot of unused land, but they put rando enemies to make it feel alive. I kinda wish there was a central city in this Gray Zone, where it’s got a really cool run down feel with sketchy ally ways and at night the signs on the buildings light up in halogen and glow off the puddles in the streets (all unreal engine 5 stuff).
Looks dope, needs that small city area though if this is going to be something that gives more variety in gameplay and a good time sink.
Even make it where a faction presence can hold the city, not as a FOB, but as a point of influence. Maybe add another and it’s a radio station, and maybe have a hospital and 1 other. So that 3 factions fight over 4 influence points. And then you have all of these little shanty towns for side missions that are like the little quests we have in Tarkov.
Persistent servers make me want to get a squad to get the rest of the faction to team up and take the hospital for the evening or the weekend. Then send branches of the faction to chisel away at the other points like the city, take the city, then have 2 of the influence points on the map giving our faction the most control, which then opens up more LZs to do other side missions in areas further from your factions starting FOB.

Hmm, the frogs arent that loud or usually even croaking mid day usually.
Has no one played the older zombie PvEvP games like WarZ, Infetation Survivor Stories, Romero's Aftermath? Hell, even DayZ. We've had these open world extraction looter shooter pvp games for ages. Knowing really knew here other than this also being a Unreal Enginer tech demo. Tarkov was different not because it was an extraction shooter, but because of the major focus on guns/body movement/weapon blocking/bullet balistics/sounds engineering.
A big reason the guns appear a lot smaller is because Tarkov FOV is so much lower than this game

the most important question is: is there Couch Bags to store all the loot those 4 guys have on them?

Rat something you should know is they will be adding a rogue faction that you can join if you make a effort to kill your own factions guys and you gain the ability to make ai be friendly

In a 48km square map finding PvP won't be easy or fast. As to your comment about tactical and how people actually play, I agree 100%, I go in with guys and the moment we are in, we become 5 guys with guns... it really is horrible team play. Looks interesting hopefully they make something that is realistic and has big replay value
The heli makes so much noise om exfil I think it my prove to quite hard to actually get out. Not like taking the car in tarkov lol

The amount of ratting that is gonna happen in this game with all the foliage and the vaulting on roofs, will be crazy. I just hope they have a way of preventing people camping the LZ. Without a raid end timer this will cause too much grief and toxcicity. So far the game looks really promising and lots of the creators were positive.
The Devs will need to do a lot to make the map not feel so empty. Need a lot of AI to fill it out, random car patrols on roads, random AI patrols in the woods. Is there even like a larger city element or is it all little villages?
Or it could just be like real life and save everybodies fps?

@Wisdomisgood448 from a video I watched awhile ago they mentioned there was going to be alot of ai. Which you will commonly either fight or stealth around through out the map
It was supposed to go early access by first quarter of this year but guess it got delayed.
There definitely seems like there's potential in this game. But the scavs being bullet sponges in this vertical slice is a little worrying. I'm sure it's going to be multiple years before this is released so hopefully they continue to polish it more.
For reference, all of tarkovs maps put together would be about 15 Sq kilometers max

I’m very cynical about these types of “tactical realism” games. Usually what ensues is a tremendous amount of fart sniffing within the community and unremitting clunkiness.
They tend to forget the game aspect of these virtual walking, gun model porn simulators.
It will take 60 seconds to take a drink from your canteen. Walking over small objects? Vaulting? Nah in real life doing anything physical is too difficult and stubbing your big toe is super hardcore.
But look, our models walk super tactically and hold their weapons like real operators!

Shit, tarkov didn't even have a face hitbox in the alpha days. Slap on a kiver and your head was 100% protected from any weapon in the game at that point.

UE5 runs fucking incredible I can pretty much guarantee this shit flies so long as u have a 1080+... and cpu side also 1000x better than unity unless they fuck up on dev side severely

Pre alpha release they delayed it till next month it was supposed to come out this month but they said it wasn’t ready
Only a delay was mentioned. It was in a reply, to a reply of a post on X. Nothing has been officially announced and if it is delayed, no new time period has been announced.

I get it's pre-alpha, but if this is the entire game loop I don't see myself sticking around too long. Drop in, clear some buildings, drop meds for teammate, get out?
Exactly what I said! “It’s literally in development gameplay. It’s just to show a little of the game” - yeah, I get that. But I’ve seen development gameplay that literally removed 60% of the “gameplay/content” before release. 🤣 I really HOPE there would be more behind this. Feels like a ue5 ghost recon where you go in, grab a document, and leave. Not at all fun in my eyes. And would get extremely boring.

This looks like Arma 3 Alpha with more modern graphics. What I've seen from the gameplay so far seems very bare.
Let's see how it is once they release it. So far it looks like they have a lot of work ahead of them.

I think tarkov could benefit if they lowered footstep audio on things like dirt and grass. Rats are a different thing entirely that would destroy the game but it would also put a stop to the outrageous price of com 4’s and how people need them to win or atleast for the advantage

People are excited for Unreal Engine 5, not grayzone warfare.
It looks extremely barebones right now and people are just impressed with the graphics. When the game lacks features and mechanics people will be disappointed.
