There are tons of items available to civilians, that are far more superior to what we were issued, when I was in the military. From boots to cold weather gear, tents etc…, we used to go to the PX and other stores, to buy the quality stuff we needed. Even rifles, there are tons of rifles available to civilians that are far better to what we had (except for the fact that civilians versions obviously lack 3-rd burst or full option autos, unless you can afford one).
I agree. I’m disgusted by what our troops have issued to them. When my son was in the first thing I did was take him shopping for the best equipment he was allowed to have. I started with a really nice Hennessy Hammock because you can’t always find flat level ground without debris. It wasn’t long before everyone in his unit had one lol. Go pops!

Army Would get all the stuff you need for you when you go to deployments, highest bulletproof And most advanced body armor system, fr uniforms, good combat boots... Most of the civilian shirt are either worse or doesn't worth all the price for similar effects. Except i Would say that fox river socks are way better than issued ones. The lies of civilian gears are better.. Is Just not true, tactical gears are made for military usage. And light weight doesn't mean it's better. There's a reason why army gears returns to cif so many times and still works.
There is a 511 store in Sacramento where I bought a lot of stuff. Several backpacks, 24 hour RUSH 72 Hour Rush, Sling bags, smaller bug put bags, range bags, several pairs of outdoor pants, jackets, etc. Expensive but well made.
