I had this toy as a kid and I have to say that NO TOY TODAY could even come close to the toughness and playability this toy had back in the 70's! IT ROCKED back then, and IT ROCKS STILL TO THIS DAY! LONG LIVE EVEL KNIEVEL!
superb! captures all the thrills and spills of the old stunt cycle. my brother had one we used to jump him over the pond in the backyard. the bike lasted years but evel mysteriously dissapeard. many years later the mystery was solved when dad drained the pond he had been underwater for ten years or more and appeared to be none the worse for his ordeal, still in fine shape apart from his wire being a bit rusty. ace vid sir !
One of the best videos I have ever seen. Just bidding on ebay for a 70's original. If I don't win will be buying one of the latest models. Awesome Video
Awesome vid. I used to have one of these and just love it. I kept breaking the bike though. I'm 53 now and would still be playing with this if I had one.
The precursor to flywheel hybrid technology in modern vehicles! I used to have this exact toy! (I got this as a x-mas present back in '73-'74) Mine was the original white one. One of my favourite toys!
Hello Cousin Tiny, glad you are liking the old man's repetoir. Say hello to the nephews. Uncle Weevel. Ps Weeve-O says "Keep the stunt faith alive dude !!"
I love this film, it looks so real in slo mo. The ramp flexing when he lands adds drama to :)! What happens if you increase the angle at the top of the ramp, so it's nearer to vertical would he sommersault do you think? Maybe try a bit at a time and film it so we could see what happens each time?
I've had a look inside a couple of the old and new bikes and it all depends on how sloppy the cogs are - sometimes they are too loose on their axles and rub on the rear tire or rub on the flywheel slowing it down alot. I'd love to be able to rebuild one with proper ballrace bearings, etc.
haha mate so funny... big evel knievel fan myself... put a vid of an evel tribute bike i built for a stunt competition this year on here... but not as good as this one lol
Very Good! Wow what is your secret to make him jump so far! I bought a repo trail bike and it barely leaves the launcher - you must be using old school toys.

HAHA not bad at all bloody funny stuff.
The perfect jump I didn't realise it was possible to do that it must have been the ecstatic audience which brought the best out of him.
