Join us this week as we progress with our crafter van conversion. this time we fit the shower cubicle and get on with building the cupboards and completing the kitchen area. Enjoy a video of a week full of hard work and laughs as we try to complete our challenge in time for the christmas holidays!

Wowee, you seem suddenly to have done even more... so much. Sir, with Charley's supervision of course has gone essentially from bedframes to beds; the shower room is unbelievable already; part of the kitchen and various shelving throughout... is done! Yes I guess to you two it must seem everything's an eternity away and yet to us, PUFF! ECKY THUMP, SLOW DOWN!! You are utterly amazing ... as are those fantastic children doing their own thing and I think, for what it's worth, you WILL have reached your own targets before Santa falls through the TrumaCombi pipe!! Honest guv, I've no doubt. And young Charlotte, what the heck do you feed Sir on?! He keeps at it, and at it and at it!! Blooming amazing. So, Welsh Family Five, you're going to do it. I really don't think I'd have the confidence to do what you are doing. For what its worth, I think you are creating great memories for the children and teaching them wonderful life skills. I'm intrigued to see how it all turns out, but sofar you have been doing alright ;-)

Fantastic viewing again. We'd like to wish you all a fantastic Christmas from Dave and Sophie. We are looking forward to a few nights away in the Cotswolds for the New Year. First stop Burford. We keep 'Pippin' in storage and this years 'freeze' came quickly. We'd forgotten to drain water systems but thankfully, no bursts or harm done after gradually thawing everything out. Sophie, I and 'Pippin' are now raring to hit the road again soon !!!!

Oak looks amazing I agree- however if not fully sealed it looks terrible- water gets in and rots it. Had it in my house kitchen and would never get it again as it needs a lot of maintenance to keep it looking great. Everything looking lovely x

Loving the build. Moving along nicely. Top tip for you regarding oak worktop and movement. Find yourself an old solid oak dining table. Normally around 1800mm long by 800-900mm wide. 22mm thick. Normally over 20 plus years old. They look amazing once sanded and osmo’d. Osmo satin amber. My colour of choice. You won’t be disappointed.

The van is looking fantastic. If the kitchen business dries up you've definitely got another string to your bow Stu. I've seen another "professional" builder that doesn't have as good a finish as that. The editing isn't too shabby either, well done.

I wasn't sure about it when you said you chose the oak in the end (hark at me like its my van!!) but I think it looks as you would say "lush" now its been treated and I am also happy with that! Well done guys enourmous progress this week looking forward to next week already!

He’s never done a van build before and we have definitely chosen a corker to start with! He’s doing great. I’m like the apprentice haha it’s been fun though xx

Hi thank you for watching, we may do a pop top later on there’s more room in these pods than they appear on screen but the great thing about builds things can be changed to accommodate later xx

Could you put an external waterproof outlet cover over the heater outlet in the shower, then just close it when you use the shower?

I've got 25mm oak in mine , looks the part but I'd not have it again ,,
Movement with temperature
Even tho has 3 coats of finish it's goes patchy due to different surface areas that get used more so doesn't look clean and fresh like most campersvans do

I've been told that if u resin it over the 3 coats of stain it will keeps its looks but it's like glass , so it'll scratch and things slide around ,,, but what can u do , its all homework
The uni-strut roof rails did you use riv-nuts ? And what about glue was that needed ?
Yes we used rivet nuts along with ct1 silicone XxRR
How come you have a lovely motorhome and a crafter motorhome lol? Surly the motorhome is better in every department?
The motorhome offers space, the crafter offers a challenge and cheaper travelling we will see which one works out best XxRR
Question how are you ventilating the bed area for the kids? Three warm bodies may create lot of condensation.

I’m putting in gas drop vents for low level venting and we have the maxxfan which provides high level venting even when closed XxRR
Can you tell where you got your ninja oven and grill from please? What size is it? Thanks
We got it from Amazon the 10in1 version ;-) it’s smaller than a standard microwave
