Sam is just Ren's friend. They met one day when Sam was singing on the street acapella. Ren was walking by with his guitar, and offered to let Sam borrow it, but Sam declined the offer because he doesn't play guitar. So Ren stayed with him, and played guitar to accompany Sam's vocals. They've been close friends ever since.
There's a video that was recorded of them that day, with their Justin Beiber haircuts. There's a comment from Sam on the video talking about how he cries when he sees that footage, given how far Ren's health had declined over the years. Sam is just Ren's friend.
There is an official music video for the song that is good. They also have to fun songs called 'What went wrong parts 1 and 2'. And we all have the accents! Luckily most if them are beautiful and/or interesting. Sam is making his own way in music. He even opened for Justin Bieber once. Ren discovered him busking on the street. Blind Eyed was their first success.
Ren and Sam wrote Blind Eyed together. Check out the MC sessions version, even if you don't react to it (but i hope you do).
It is recorded in a studio and Ren is playing a electric guitar. The sound quality is excellent!

I think those guys wearing black were bouncing them out for the attendant but at least they hung in the background and didn’t seem to want to be on camera. My guess is Ren and Sam were just there testing the acoustics of the garage. I thought it was funny how Ren just instinctively jumped in front of the camera to keep them filming. They clearly were having fun.
There are different videos of them singing Blind Eyed but you should watch the one with Blind Eyed / MC Sessions in the title.
Another one with Ren and Sam to watch is the busking one that has Earned It/It’s a Man’s World/Falling. Sam does 2/3 of the singing but you def get a taste of REN’s singing chops.
Justin Bieber recently took an interest in Sam. He interviewed him and I think he invited him on stage to sing at one of his concerts.
Ren helped Sam get his start. Sam is 6 or so years younger and Ren was on his way home with his equipment. No one was paying much attention to Sam (no equipment or anything) but Ren heard him and knew he had talent. He went up to him and told him how it would be different if he had a mic and speaker. To prove to Sam he would make more money, Ren offered to let him use his equipment. Ren played guitar and he told him he could keep all the money he made. Ren was right and he did in fact tell Sam to keep it all.
I might be wrong but I think Sam actually was the support performer on one of Justin’s recent tours before the Bells Palsy thing kicked off - poor guy probably got vaxed.
On Sam's UA-cam there is a video of him singing with Bieber. Im not a big Bieber fan, (although I respect his talent), but it was still cool to see.

Their live performance of this song on the Music Crowns channel is my favorite.

Sam Tompkins is someone famous share the stage is Justin Bieber and he does have a couple of albums out I have one of them is really good
There's a bunch of good Sam and Ren collaborations. The street performance videos they do have better audio than this one. I think here, they were likely scouting a good filming location as they weren't properly mic-ed up.
