I love when you guys do these laid back videos and the countryside is so scenic. And thanks for showing us everyday pricing. Good to see the ups and downs but overall I still think Sweden is ideal for this form of traveling (yes, I've been aware for a while of their laws about free-camping)
Sweden is brilliant but the south and west coast can get very busy over the peak season. We actually found the marina parkings in Sweden to be great value as alternative. Falsterbo was a good example.
@@WeWillNomad yes, I would love to do the southwest but mostly the 3 main islands (I think Stockholm would be best done backpacking - I've looked into that a bit). But I'd also be quite interested in the northern part, especially as a cheaper alternative route to driving all the way up Norway then all the way back again over similar route (although I suppose car ferry is another alternative but 🤑)🤷♀️
It's just SO far to get up north that flying might be the best. Apparently driving through Finland is the easiest (flattest) but also most boring. We still have to figure out how we'll get all the way up north... one day! But the south of Sweden has a lot going for it in our opinion 😊

Hi! Yes, that is an ongoing challenge to be honest 😄 We each need a SIM for our cellphones to stay connected and we also need a SIM for data in our van to run our hotspot and security cameras. What will suit you might depend entirely on your country of residence, the destination country , the duration of your stay in a certain country and whether your current (home) provider offer meaningful roaming options. We usually try to get a at least one local SIM for data when we'll be in a country for a while and it's affordable enough to justify - which we use in our wifi router in the van. So far best options for us in Europe has been: Spain (Vodafone & MoviStar - around 35-70Gb for Eur20 p/m), Portugal (MEO - unlimited data 1Eur per day), France (Free Mobile - 210Gb for Eur20 p/m). We used our French Free Mobile SIM to roam in countries like Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway as it includes 25Gb for roaming. Unfortunately the Free mobile SIM can only be recharged once per month so if the data is out you either have to pay per Gb or stop using it. What we do is supplement it with an extra Italian SIM (VERY Mobile) which gives us 10Gb roaming in EU for Eur8 - but we can keep recharging it when out. We also each use dual SIM cellphones in which we each have an Italian VERY Mobile SIM to be able to make local calls and have data on our cellphones. We usually can find a the odd free to use wifi in places for uploading videos which conserves data. If we use data like there's no care in the world (streaming video & music, upload to UA-cam & general use) we easily use around 100gb per month. When we're in places like Scandinavia it will come down to around 1Gb per day as we cut out some non-essential use. The new Starlink mobile seems like an interesting solution for data in the van - but at Eur124 p/m plus fitment of Eur600 it's not quite a fit for us. We can also just take our mobile router with us whether we're in the van or not. If you're from the US you can also look at the Google Fi project.

You're very welcome! Our best advice (as things are at the moment) is to make sure you have an unlocked dual sim phone (if you need to keep your home sim active) and try to get the Free Mobile Sim in France asap mobile.free.fr/fiche-forfait-free. The have self-service kiosks all over and it's 10 Eur for the SIM then 20 Eur per month which gives you phone calls and data (210Gb in France & 25Gb outside) -valid pretty much all over the world. You don't need to be a resident or even show a passport. Perhaps in a year from now there will be something else! All the best with planning your trip!

I have 100gb on my plan that I share with my parents who don't have WiFi and even when I didn't have WiFi either (for several months) we still couldn't use that much (but we're not uploading UA-cam videos). I assume you've looked into e-SIMs? My understanding is they can cover several regions. Although if you're going to be in one country for an extended period I suppose it makes sense to find a plan that maximises value for that period of time?
