Tyco Tech can you update this video or annotate it? Looks like they removed the option @1:41 on the latest SideQuest v0.10.8 so I don't think you can download custom songs anymore via SideQuest?
Side topic but related: Just updated Side Quest and there was a kind of "Install Shield" that took me through an update. It's nice they added that.

There is no Z for me to click on my sidequest app. I am in developer mode, have a develop account, no z available

1:40 This might need an update, I don't see any Z button at the top right of my SideQuest app. How did you even get that browser bar at the top? Either SideQuest updated a lot or you must've skipped like 20 steps
Same I can navigate to the website in a chrome browser on my PC but its not in my sidequest?
Did this man just release his IP for all to see? I can respect that.
connect oculus to PC, just copy downloaded custom songs to: android-data-com.syntraiders-files-custom song
No need to complicate it with enabling dev mode, using thirth party software etc....
I tried and didn't work. Mp3 and M4A. Maybe I'm missing something.

I already followed your Frankenquest video then put my own spin on it but sometimes it still feels front heavy even with that mod, so curious as to all the bells and whistles, it looks like you have the VRCover deluxe audio strap foam replacement, then I think maybe the cloth VRCover or maybe an AMVR, then like some magnets and cords and... yes! All the things!

Question: How does the game know where to put the balls? I can understand the timing part because of the beats. As far as x,y, z plane positions, is that just random?
I have no clue, does seem kinda random though.

Not sure why but my sidequest doesn't look like yours! I don't see the Z on the top... am I doing something wrong?
i’m so sad i downloaded sidequest and they no longer have the synth riders feature. No custom songs for me i guess 😭
There is a "manage files on the headseat" folder up right in the SideQuest app there you can add songs that you previously dowloaded from SynthRiders website to your pc
Mods tab currently says "coming soon", I'm interested to see what kind of mods we'll be getting
Should see custom stages and ball overlays soon.

I’m gonna get synth riders because I did reading on beat saber custom songs and a good amount of people are saying there is a door wide open for a ban wave but the ost songs are so bad for it so ima get this that has good ost and will have built in custom song support
I followed your directions using SideQuest and the Synth Rider icon to select songs to install on my Quest2. All songs selected show under Custom Songs when I get on Synth Riders but, none of the songs play when I click on Play. What can I do now?

Question, in the first part of the video, does the Quest need to plugged into the PC in order to get the songs, " Installed/downloaded" to the quest?
You do need to be plugged into the PC for the songs to be transferred over by Sidequest.

That's not custom songs. Custom songs are the music you have downloaded on your iphone or Android. 😔
Your suposed to be able to download so gs. Synth files into customsongs fder bit ive tried thos and noodle. Manager and songs dont show up soo......

When I try to download all the songs it tells me I need a seven zip
is there a way to add my NCS mp3 songs? I do not want copy right junk thats going on for Twitch and UA-cam. So i like to play NCS songs

Wow how misleading! You can’t add your own songs just what is available currently on the website. I don’t see how this is custom. This is essentially just expanding the library that is already there. If only we could add our own MP3s! Then it would truly be a great app. I’m sticking with audio trip.
If you dragged a custom MP3 into Super Mario do you think the game would just make the level by itself? Custom songs refer to community made maps, this isn't misleading you're just misunderstanding
@@Pocketnaut Yes I suppose you are correct. I did kind of misunderstand. Since I saw the word custom I assumed I could add my own songs and the app would do the rest. If you’re asking how levels are made I have no idea because I am not a game designer. Are they still custom because other people are creating the songs and the levels? No. Other people creating songs and levels is the game itself and therefore not anything special but rather just an expanded library. I misunderstood but only because they used the wrong wording. - aka misleading. I appreciate your reply but that’s how I felt originally.

I must be stupid. I wanted to know if I could add my own music on Synth, not the music already there. Like if I wanted, I dunno, Carol of the Bells or the soundtrack to Lion King or whatever, is that possible to do on Synth? You kinda dashed thru it a bit too quickly, so I'm thinking it isn't at all possible. In that case, meh.
Does it matter if you have a pirated copy of the game? Will this still work?
I couldn't tell ya, a don't condone pirating games. The devs need all the support they can get so they can keep making games and help VR grow....
What if you don’t have a PC?
Have you previously set up sideloading? Once you have a file manager installed on the Quest you won't need PC again.

Synth riders is soooooo bad , bzd songs , buggy af on the quest ... audio trip is like 100000 times better imo!
