When Anthony Hopkins attended the premier of this film he took his Mum. She said that she looked at him half way through and she was actually scared of him in real life. That is a sign of good acting.
He gave himself a heart attack during one of his performances. Full bill of health... Just straight wrecked himself in one scene . I'm sure his intensity is why he retired.
@@kdk9460he’s not retired. He’s 85 and still acting.
@@kdk9460He was in a really heartbreaking movie called The Father, and man he's still got it.
@@kdk9460Retired? He just won his second Oscar!
And Martha Stewart said, when she met him, she couldn't date Anthony, because she kept thinking of the Silence of the Lambs movie.
"I'm having an old friend for dinner" one of the most sinister lines
Seems odd tho, right? Cause he didn’t get along with that guy at all. So why would he want to…oooh! 😮
Top 100 movie line all time
Chilton deserved it!
Eerie
If you listen carefully, you can hear Chilton talking to the other guy about security, almost as if he knows Lecter’s out to get him!
The slurping sound Anthony Hopkins makes after saying he ate the guys liver was completely improvisation. The look on Jodie Foster's face was real. This movie is absolutely terrifying!
Also the line about eating farva beans and chiante is a clue that he wasn't taking his medication when he killed the census taker since you can't eat/drink those things while on it.
He expected it to be cut. It was a gag.
And Jodie Foster owned that role.
How can her reaction be real when there's a cut? They usually don't film dialogue with two cameras running simultaneously on both actors.
I laughed my butt off when BJ reacted to Buffalo Bill dancing, saying "he's socially awkward". Classic!
I had to ask my husband about this....he looked at me and said..."Yeah it's possible". I had never witnessed something like that. 😜🤣
I laughed so hard when Asia said "give me the blanket" and BJ says" no, give it to me". Y'all are so fun to watch.
that was pricless funny !!! way to catch that
I lol’d so hard when he said that so serious no give *me* the cover back
@@estherkimnz
Yeah, who says men can`t be spooked just the same as women?! LOL...
It won 5 Oscars:
Best Picture
Best Director, Jonathan Demme
Best Actor, Sir Anthony Hopkins
Best Actress, Jodie Foster
Best Adapted Screenplay, Ted Tally.
It was the first and only Horror Thriller film to win Best Picture.
Hopkins wasn't knighted until two years after winning that award. And knighthood is stupid anyway. In fact lots of people refuse it. John Cleese said he felt more honored when a zoologist named a lemur after him, than he felt when he was offered knighthood.
It truly is a masterful film all around. Performances were stellar, the adaptation was perfect, cinematography is a master class and the pace and editing is amazing.
A masterpiece.
I enjoyed the prequel Red Dragon and Hannibal but this is the best of the trilogy.
Jonathan Demme is such an interesting filmmaker. His music documentaries are great. He’s made excellent dramas like Philadelphia and odd comedies like Married to the Mob. He dances to his own music in the best way. Just look at his filmography.
@@meminustherandomgooglenumbers haha! I love that! 👏🏻👏🏻
only 3 movies won all of these " big 5" awards. and one of them, in 1934, (it happened one night) had very little competition. the other was "one flew over the cuckoo's nest". in my opinion, "silence of the lambs" is simply the greatest overall movie ever made.
The sequel is called “Hannibal” and there is also a prequel called “Red Dragon”. Both are phenomenal films that are worth a watch.
Not to mention “Manhunter”…the pre-prequel.
Thomas Harris is my favorite writer! Al his work is awesome.
I am always looking for ways to include "DO YOU SEE? DO YOU SEE NOW?" in casual conversation.
@@Jaydon05 I found "Hannibal Rising" on a shelf at a beach house we were staying at on Palawan. Honestly, I kind of rolled my eyes at the time, but it was pretty much the only title there that wasn't either a Reader's Digest Condensed version of something, or in a different language. Started reading it over early morning coffee on the front porch, while waiting for the wife to wake up. The ocean 30 - 35 paces away. Didn't put that book down again until I finished it that evening. Barely left the porch. Good book, good day.
@@swrennie Yes Thomas Harris is a great writer. Try 'Black Sunday he wrote it. Awesome book!
Anthony Hopkins said in an interview that, in order to turn up the unnerving presence of Hannibal Lecter, he decided to avoid blinking for the entire performance. Almost no one noticed this prior to hearing about the interview but it effectively creeped out everyone who watched it. Pure brilliance 😳!
He SELDOM blinks. If you pay attention you see he absolutely blinks his eyes but there are several long one shots where he only blinks once.
@@blakeharris58 Before you respond again, reread the post and try to point out anywhere it says "he *_never_* blinks". It only says he "he decided to avoid blinking". He did *_avoid_* it as best he could "for the entire performance". Basically you only reworded what I said because you didn't analyze what the post actually said.
if i watched this a million times, i would never have noticed that he didn't blink 😂
Anthony Hopkins was only on screen for less than 20 minutes and gave one of the most memorable Oscar-worthy performances of the decade. I'm glad you all finally got to experience this film!
So true!
Anthony Hopkins is the REAL deal 😎
So good. I sat through hours of drivel he filmed after seeing this.
Second shortest amount of time on screen to win an Oscar
There was a 2 hour documentary about TSOTL shown on a cable channel back during summer 2010(think it was Bio Ch).Hopkins said if it wasn't for this movie, the movies he was in from British made film productions during the decade of the 1980s were not big box office hits and not cast as much in U.K.
He was about to give up and go back to theatre plays by the early 1990s.
By the '90s,Anthony Hopkins was cast by U.S./American made movie productions,"Freejack,Bram Stoker's Dracula,Legends of the Fall,The Edge,Amistad,Meet Joe Black",etc.
The look on your faces during the ambulance scene when you realized it was him was priceless!!!
Asia saying, "He (Hannibal) will not be hissing at me." was funny af.
I know how great Hopkins was. We all know. But the older you get, and the more you watch it, you realize how absolutely brilliant Foster was.
She was so dam good in this it's ridiculous. I rewatch it just to watch some if her scenes at this point because it's some of the best acting I've ever seen. And I'm super critical. When she says, "and they were screaming" while telling the Lamb story, it's just a masterclass. So realistic
Ted Levine was good too in creepy way lol
Ted Levine should have won an award too. He is a great comedic actor too now.
@@derekbeck9124Absolutely
Fun fact: Jodie Foster said in an interview that from the very 1st day of filming, she was so scared of Anthony Hopkins that she never spoke to him and completely avoided him off-set until the very last day of filming. He approached her at lunch and asked her why. He found it very amusing.
BTW, she did not play Agent Starling in the sequel.
Because Foster had nightmares after this film and rejected the sequel.
@@williamjamesayers7719: She also rejected the sequel because she read the original book by Thomas Harris and was appalled by what happened to Clarice Starling at the end of the novel & wanted nothing to do with the movie...even after the studio promised to radically re-write the ending to mollify her concerns.
@@Tomani3905 also she didn’t like the “dinner” scene
@@Tomani3905 Jodie still KILLED this performance. She earned that award.
fr Julianne Moore had zero charisma in the sequel
The “ old friend for dinner” getting off of the plane on vacation is the Dr from the prison. You guys are so much fun to watch, when I know what’s coming and you don’t!
Vacation ?!? Hannibal escaped, so Dr. Chilton was afraid for his life and went into hiding. You can hear him ask the guy after the plane about the security setup. But in the years Hannibal was his prisoner, he must have found out about Dr. Chilton's escape plans.
And you guys were still reeling from Hannibal's escape, but they did say the ambulance was found at the airport, and that he had killed a tourist and gotten his clothes and passport. He could've been anywhere in the world at that point.
@@aklein7864 I've watched this movie so many times over the years and I've never picked up on those 2 details you mentioned. I thought Dr. Chilton was going on vacation also. 😂
I never picked up on them saying the ambulance was at the airport either. I'll have to tune in much deeper next time.
Thank you for the insight.
I was like, "Look who Hannibal is following"!!!
I don't remember why but I picked the "old friend" thing up. I think it was from reading the book first though.
I can't help thinking of that line from the Epic Rap Battle of History, Jack the Ripper vs Hannibal Lecter... "How typical of Jack the Ripper to chase a headline / Pick Ray Liotta's brain, ask him how I get mine!"
This is in my opinion, one of the top three movies of ALL TIME. It won the big five at the oscars, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Picture, and Best Screenplay. Phenomenal work of art with amazingly complex characters and Jodie's portrayal of Clarice is something we will never see again - Clarice Starling is a very complex and relatable character who isn't overpowered, impossibly strong for her size- but rather an intelligent individual who is relentlessly embracing her femininity. Through her pure intentions and authenticity, Jodie's character became a symbol of divine power motivated by pure desires to save weaker individuals in her world. Despite the fact she will never be as physically strong as the men who tower over her, she preservers because she sees saving other innocent lives as a parallel to saving the lambs. The whole point Jodie was trying to make was that in the past, since women didn't have the strength or "heroism" that could compare to men, Hollywood often resorts to crafting lazy, unrealistic female heroines (i.e marvel women) who possess unfathomable qualities and don't come across as relatable at all. Besides this, often the only redeeming quality of women's characters in film is their attractiveness, or their relevance is limited to being as the love intrest to their male costars. The Silence of the Lambs changed that when Clarice Starling appeared on screen. The producers took the time to flesh out Jodie's character, Clarice, thereby allowing this talented actress to portray an authentic female role who embodies the characteristics of someone motivated by a well-developed moral compass rather than such trivial, one-dimensional(a relief for audiences). She is then juxtaposed against her male colleagues, almost all of whom are motivated purely by advancement rather than the cause itself.
Thank you. That's very well said.
The actor who played Buffalo Bill is the same actor who played Captain Stottlemeyer in the TV series MONK, he is a great actor. Also, the "old friend" that Hannibal was referring to was the psychiatrist that was studying him throughout the movie.
Had NO idea that was the same guy. I would have never guessed it.
I recognise his voice in every tv/movie he is in - he does not have to appear on screen right away . It's a dead give away!!! 😱😱😬
Dr Chilton is the dinner 🍽️😆
Funny he also played a psych. in A Time to Kill.
THE ACTOR THAT PLAYED BUFFALO BILL COMMITED SUICIDE AWHILE BACK!!!
I consider the fact that I saw this movie in the theater a badge of honor.
Did you guys notice the amazing camera work?
The characters seem as if they are talking to you directly and breaking the fourth wall in key conversations. The camera angle is the actors looking directly at you and talking as if you are in conversation there with them.
Amazing movie.
It's a very claustrophobic way of filming faces and dialogues.
It's looks similar like "12 Angry Man" from 1956 and it's looks amazing
Fun Fact: Precious the dog's real name was Darla and she was also in Peewee's Big Adventure, Coming To America, The 'Burbs, and Batman Returns. A great little resume for a great little dog.
She has her own Wikipedia page! ♥️ 🐩
You guys are awesome!!! It is so refreshing to see someone on the internet that is genuine honest and real!! I'm 56 years old from Detroit so the movies are watching I have seen dozens and dozens of times and your reactions are absolutely priceless and honest!! Keep it up and I will keep watching!!! I don't think any other actor could've done this role justice!!! Anthony Hopkins is amazing!!
Gene Hackman was the first choice.

LOL the look on his face when lector sat up in the ambulance and took that cop's face off. You were like oh hell no.
"I'm having an old friend for dinner." One of the best lines ever written! So fun (!) to get the feels again with you!
I was 20 years old when I first saw this movie at a friends house. The friend lived 3 miles away, at most. After the movie, I drove home with the dome light on in the car.
Flight: Denzel Washington at his finest. He should have won an oscar for this not only training day.
This movie has a prequel called Red Dragon. It shows how Hannibal was originally caught. It is slightly different, but it is also an amazing movie. One of the best prequels I’ve ever seen. Please react to it!
Manhunter is the original
@@anthonyguadagnino2681 I prefer Manhunter.
I'd suggest watching HANNIBAL - the direct follow-up to this film - before moving to the earlier films. HANNIBAL will replace Jodie with Julianne Moore, and this disappointed my expectations BUT she does just fine. On rewatchings - after I'd adjusted MY expectations - that film is a worthy successor. By the way, when the guard is strung up and the innards are spilled out in that angel-esque/butterfly effect, HANNIBAL has a more lengthy discussion of 'this technique'.
The debate between the powerful and most excellent 1986's MANHUNTER vs. the weak but best-configured 2002 RED DRAGON needs to have explanations. For one, MANHUNTER has far stronger actors in the prominent positions - which does not include Hannibal's actor because Hannibal is a secondary character compared to the current serial killer. MANHUNTER's Tom Noonan is huge and awesome in comparison to small Ralph Fiennes. And William Petersen is far more powerful than milquetoast Edward Norton. RED DRAGON also suffers from a fattened and aging Anthony Hopkins, along with the same fattened and aged Anthony Heald as the prison psychiatric boss. And considering this film's tale is supposedly 5-8 years before SILENCE, these two actors' appearances and movements betray the age of SILENCE vs. RED DRAGON. MANHUNTER doesn't do this. RED DRAGON enjoys significant screenwriting tie-in's as a prequel to SILENCE, though - but they all feel contrived. and watered down. Scripted more like a soap-opera than a film. This is why I prefer MANHUNTER as the "prequel" to SILENCE but I recommend seeing both of them. Make your own decisions.
@@williewilliams6571 I agree. Manhunter is by far the best prequel. I think it is just as good as Silence of the Lambs overall, although it is a COMPLETELY different style of movie. And I have read the book.
My favorite movie of all time! One of the very few movies to win the 5 big Oscars (best picture, directing, female and male lead, and screenplay!) This movie is a masterpiece!
It’s official, you guys are by far my favorite reactors.
I love movies so I love watching people react to my favorite ones. There’s a lot of couples on UA-cam doin this but you guys are doing it perfect.
Thanks for giving me smiles & laughs. ❤
Thanks Natalie, that’s so sweet! Much love ❤️❤️
I like them both for different reasons - Asia is surprisingly switched-on and picks up on foreshadowing; BJ notices the little details and acting that make scenes great. It's like you're getting a real "Yin-Yang" type thing going on. Definitely one of the high-tier reaction channels.
The books are brilliant and this adaptation honours the source material so well. Hopkins just chews the scenery, no pun intended lol. Films this good are ageless and deserved all the Oscars.
During the making of this , Jodie Foster was terrified of him . She said in an interview . She avoided him as much as possible . I would really like them to watch " Empire Of The Sun " & " Elephant Man ".
Agreed. One of the best series of books I've read. As great as Hannibal is on screen, there is so much more to him in the books. You learn about his strange kind of twisted "morality" for lack of a better word. He's a complex character, not just any villain. Brilliantly written.
Asia says I don't want THAT dog!" Cracked me up.
Anthony Hopkins was terrifying as Hannibal Lecter. He’s a phenomenal actor. Another of his movies that I think you would like is Amistad.
The name Hannibal Lecter is really interesting. Hannibal was the general who led his troops over the Alps to fight the Romans, so it implies both strength and tenacity, while Lecter is Latin for "reader", so it implies someone who can see what is hidden.
I told you this on every film so far, but I gotta say it AGAIN! I have watched y'alls music reactions forever, and I watch a lot of other music & film reaction channels, but Y'ALL are SO SO SO SO SO FUN to see these films with.

This movie is incredible. The character of John Crawford was based on real-life FBI criminal profiler John E. Douglas. He also served as inspiration for Netflix's Mindhunter.
Mindhunter was good also
Scott Glenn said to John Douglas "Your job is pretty cool" so Douglas made Glenn listen to the Toolbox murders tape, like they did with the young agent in Mindhunter and that's why Scott isn't in the sequel/prequel. He didn't want anything to do with the part anymore after hearing that. 😣
The movie is titled Man Hunter
At around @30:30 during the infamous & iconic Buffalo Bill ‘Goodbye Horses’ make•up & dance scene->“He’s out of his mind.” Completely The writer Harris & movie director Johnathan Demme created a multi-dimensional & byzantine antagonist that was played to perfection by actor Ted Levine. I saw an interview with Ted Levine who said he gets very nervous & anxious during auditions so he immerses himself completely into the character to fee himself of the anxiety.
Apparently he was so scary & convincing as we see him onscreen in the actual audition that it freaked everyone our which led to him being hired on the spot after a single audition. That’s pretty incredible if you think about it because it can take months with thousands of auditions & actors. The interview is on YT. Sadly Ted Levine did such a good job in the role that he was typecast for several years. Also there is a story that apparently when Ted Levine was so upset & unnerved by the scene where he is mock laughing at the victim in the well that he got upset & started to tear up which director Johnathan Demme loved so much because it showed a glimpse of empathy from Buffalo Bill lensing even more credence & complexity to the serial killer. This is why he calls his victims “it” so it dehumanizes them. The implication is that Buffalo Bill started empathizing for the girl indicating a sliver of humanity remaining in the monster. Just brilliant stuff.
Jodie Foster & Anthony Hopkins said filming the movie was emotionally taxing & disturbing. It’s easy to see why. It’s such a tremendous film that still holds & creeps you out no matter how many times you see it.
Silence of the Lambs deserved the awards it won.
This is one of my favorites. So much tension in that finale act. That moment when Jame Gumb opens the door and it's Clarice there and not a squad's worth of law enforcement. The actors all did such an amazing job bringing these characters to life. My favorite Jodie Foster role. My favorite Anthony Hopkins role. My favorite Ted Levine role. So happy you enjoyed this one too!
Yes this one’s in my top five with Pulp Fiction and The Matrix.
I also loved Jodie Foster in Contact, another great movie.

Both Anthony Hopkins (Hannibal) and Jodie Foster (Clarice) won Best Actor and Best Actress Oscars and the film won the Best Picture.
11:50 Anthony Hopkins was only on screen for around 20 minutes of this movie, but he just dominates it with his performance. There were people that were just terrified of him after this performance, but he is an amazing actor with a lot of other great roles.
I hope you get to watch him in something else too. Bram Stoker's Dracula, Amistad, The Mask of Zorro, Meet Joe Black, Instinct, Hitchcock among many many more. He plays Odin in the Thor movies and he plays Dr. Robert Ford in the Westworld tv series.
Of course he does play Hannibal Lecter a couple more times too. In the movies Hannibal and Red Dragon.
Don't forget his earlier work, like Audrey Rose, Magic, and especially The Elephant Man.
His Westworld character performance is amazing.
The first two seasons are filled with existential queries it invites the viewer to ponder
His best performances may be two Merchant/Ivory films that no reactor ever reacts to (Howard's End and The Remains of the Day).
Sir Hopkins was also in a movie called "The Bounty" with Mel Gibson from the 80's. Def worth a watch!
I have been binge watching you all's reactions for two days, I love them so much. It's 5:58 AM and I've been watching these since two this morning.
One of the best films ever, with one of the most iconic performances ever. Antony Hopkins is on screen for less then 15minutes, yet you feel he is in the whole movie. And he won the Oscar for his outstanding performance. At the time, Silence of the Lambs was one of the few films (if I remember right), to win the "big 5" at the Oscars - Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor (Hopkins), Best Actress (Foster), and Best Screenplay. Masterpiece.
SIR Anthony Hopkins.
Fun fact: Anthony Hopkins snuck into a theater and watched people's reactions to the movie when it came out. After the film was over, he crept up behind a woman and spoke like Hannibal and asked her if she liked the movie and the woman screamed out loud in the theater . Now that's a scare prank.
What 👀 wow that’s hilarious and 🫣 too! Thanks ❤️❤️
I've loved all your movie reactions. Another psychological thriller is Seven with Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, and Gwyneth Paltrow. Great movie
Sir Anthony could teach a class on doing more with less. He's very restrained in this film, sometimes quite literally, yet he dominates every scene in which he appears. The cold, dead eyes. The controlled voice which he uses like a weapon. It's not at all surprising that he was awarded for this role. The rest of the cast played their roles to perfection as well. It's actually sort of a shame that they were outshined so completely.
Have a nice day all.
I'm just grateful Jennifer Lawrence paved the way for Jodie Foster to play Clarice Starling in Silence Of The Lambs
Asia - "Next time we just need to do a phone visit!!" LOVED it!!! And right on!!!
Zoom call
Probably my favorite movie ever. When this came out, I was doing my graduate school practicum in counseling psychology. Because of what he said about "what is each thing unto itself, what is its nature"........read Marcus Aurelius. So I did. I bought the Diary of Marcus Aurelius, and it was actually helpful in understanding psychological problems. Anyway, great movie.
17:55 "It rubs the lotion on it's skin, or it gets the hose again" he would punish her by spraying her with a water hose if she didn't listen. he wanted her skin to be moisturized, and in it's best condition, so he could skin her and make a suite to wear. he didn't refer to her as a person, he called her "It". great reaction to an amazing, and terrifying film! 👍
This film won the Big Five Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director (Demme), Best Actor (Hopkins), Best Actress (Foster), and Best Adapted Screenplay (Ted Tally)
It's not really a horror movie but a psychological thriller.
There were hardly any jump scares yet you're kept on the edge of your seat with just a few creepy images underlined by the great score.
Like in the kidnap scene, the autopsy scene and the escape scene where he beats the cop with a nightstick - you only get to see little bits and your own imagination fills in the rest, so well done.
Foster & Hopkins brought to life this brilliantly realised adaptation from the gripping novel - the first enthrallingly researched bestseller that looked at the psychopathy of killers from the mundane to the truly genius who's intelligence is off the scale. So worth the read & so much more depth to every character.
The "Hannibal" tv show is super good to. I never thought another actor could play Hannibal because to me Anthony Hopkins is the GOAT at playing him but Madds Mikkelson is really really good as him in the tv show.
Yes!💯
Agreed! Both very different but equally compelling.
1992 Oscars:
Best Picture
Best Actor
Best Actress
Best Director
Best Adapted Screenplay
Best Sound Mixing
Best Film Editing
I got a big ol' grin when Asia said "next time let's just talk over the phone" -- right on the money!!
Need to react to more classics: Halloween, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Ferris Buellers Day Off, The Goonies, Thelma & Louise, The Rocky movies, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Goodfellas, Scarface, Dirty Dancing, My Cousin Vinny, Planes Trains & Automobiles, A Bronx Tale, Heathers, The Shining .....
One of the famous sound effects used in movies is the "Wilhelm Scream." This channel has introduced us to the "Asia Scream." I imagine we'll hear it again tonight. For another movie that has some scary moments but is mainly a suspense film try "Psycho" by Alfred Hitchcock. It's very famous so you may have already seen it. If not, it's well worth a look. And, it contains one of the most notorious scenes in cinema history.
She thinks the horror is over now. But every day when she puts on lotion, BJ is gonna be right there hissing, "It puts the lotion on it's skin... or else it gets the hose again."
Back in the 1990's I used to torment my girlfriend with that line, and she got utterly creeped out every time.
The newer versions with the prequel, and later on, are ok, but still can't compare with the original.
Anthony Hopkins….Jodie Foster, both are stellar in this movie. ❤️🎥❤️love ya guys

At the end Lector was following Dr. Chilton who had left the country since Lector's escape is shown getting off a plane when Lector was on the phone with Starling. He was the friend Lector was having for dinner.
15:42 It’s not he’s just staring into space, he’s analyzing her body language, he knew she was lying but played along, which is why he didn’t put much attention to her ‘generous’ offer, and instead focused on questioning her. He said it himself, he would know if she lies, so obviously he knew that offer was a lie. 16:25

In fact, this movie actually was a sequel.
To Manhunter.

10:35 - Asia's superhero mask - helps her fight fear
My favorite part is when Asia kinda sings "Back like we neva left!" It just makes me smile, idk why.
Great reaction. Another great movie. This is one of those movies where each time you watch it you notice another detail. Next movie..."My Cousin Vinny" one of the funniest movies...and you can watch it 100 times and enjoy it each time.
You guys are in for one hell of a journey. There are so many legendary movies, actors, performances, stories to experience. Can't wait until you start knowing names and make references the more you watch. Everyone should know who Sir Anthony Hopkins is, truly a one in a lifetime actor.
My favorite movie of all time
Anthony Hopkins is a fantastic actor. The 'having an old friend for dinner' remark was about the prison governor who stepped off that plane.
I liked when B.J. put his arm around Asia
Another brilliant reaction, guys!! Anthony Hopkins & Jodie Foster earned their Academy Awards that year. Demme is a great director who also directed PHILADELPHIA w/ Tom Hanks & Denzel Washington. The man also directed the comedy MARRIED TO THE MOB w/ Michelle Pfeiffer. It's silly and sweet. All of them I used to have on VHS 📼. Again, terrific reaction you two! Always a treat to watch you!
Later 🙋🏾♀️
Another great movie- Philadelphia
WAS a great director.
The 10:40 mark of this reaction is a cinematic triumph !!! 🔥😂 Asia’s jaw was on the floor
Even tho' Anthony Hopkins *KILLED* Hannibal Lecter... TED LEVINE as SKINNER BILL was incredible....
*"It does as it's told.. it rubs the lotion on it's body or it gets the hose again"*
Red Dragon is the prequel to this.. and Hannibal is the sequel.
And… Hannibal rising is a prequel to all of them. ❤
Great movie. A student of mine, who took my exercise class was a Publicist, and invited me to the NYC premiere before general release of the film.
I didn't sleep for a week. After 20+ years, it stands up well. A classic.
Really enjoy watching with you guys!
This is unquestionably one of the greatest thrillers ever made 👍😜… “I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU CLARICE!!!” 😈😈😈
Lol!!!! Omg!! I can’t with the creepy voice!! 🤣🤣
@@ReelinwithAsiaandBJ … LONG LIVE HANNIBAL THE CANNIBAL!!! ✋️😝
@@ReelinwithAsiaandBJ … And that “move” he makes with his teeth & lower lip 😱😱😱
“Come closer, Clarisse.” Haha.
First Horror film in History to win Best Picture at the Oscar's.
I saw this when it first premiered in theaters. The audience was packed and when Hannibal said he was going to have an old friend for dinner the crowd erupted and applauded. 😅 It was fabulous!
Michelle Pfieffer was offered the Clarice role but turned it down and Foster took it. Michelle had done a few other Demme films, he liked her and wanted her in the film- Jodie knew this was something special and ran with that all the way to her 2nd Oscar.
Another great reaction from you, but you totally missed Who the "friend" was that Hanbal was going to have for dinner ... 😱 That line is, by the way, almost as classic as "No, I am your father." 😊
Love the roses on BJ's collar.
Very stylish Sir.
What always surprises me with these ''reaction'' chanels is that they all watch legendary movies for the first time. I live in Europe and I watched all of them when they were released.
Love Asia's reactions and facial expressions during scary movies. priceless
Asia squealed, that's a WIN! Lol🤣. A great reaction to a great psychological "thriller"! 😊
Love the running 🏃♀️ beginning sequence of this movie show how determined she is
Asia: Give me the cover back...
BJ: Give ME the cover back...
Great. Your reactions were so natural... I felt like I was seeing it again for the 1st time! And, hilarious too. "Now, he's in a nutshell."
"He's upgraded!" ;
I’ve watched this probably 100 times. I still have the VHS tape. And I just caught myself holding my hand up to cover my phone screen during the guard attack scene. That’s how freaking good this movie is.
There is an old movie with Anthony Hopkins that. My wife and I still talk about 40 years later! It’s called “Magic”. From 1978. Anthony Hopkins gives a creepy, but great performance. If you can find it, check it out ! Creepy, suspenseful, thriller😳😬😉
It rubs the lotion on its skin, or else it gets the hose again. A phrase burned into my mind.
The psychological effect this movie brings is something else. Let alone the scenes that just make you turn away.
Great reaction! This is still one of my favorites movies of all time, with Hannibal he has a way of drawing you in when he is talking. Sir Anthony Hopkins is such a great actor and one my personal favorite actors.
Psychological horror are my favorites, people are much scarier than Jason, Freddie, Micheal Myers combined.
So true.
I dunno, myers has a story, but I see what you're saying and agree
This is more of a love story between Starling and lector
Hannibal Lecter was the child of a Lithuanian Nobleman and his Wife.
Prior to WW2 and him leaving that country.
Hey, you guys heard Tom Petty's "American Girl" in the soundtrack for this movie. It's one you haven't reacted to yet on your music channel.
This was a big movie. Everybody went to see it. Generally, as a consequence of the success here, serial killers became a big thing in other films and television. Before this, while there had been movies and books about serial killers, it wasn't that popular of a thing. Most people didn't really know what a serial killer was. But after this movie with Hannibal Lecter ... everybody knew.
It's like how people knew about shark attacks, but after "Jaws" people were scared to go into the water.
This is a great movie and if you wanna watch another spooky-check your windows before you sleep watch “Seven” starring Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt. It is very much like “Silence of the Lambs”
Best thing for him really. His therapy was going nowhere!!
I hate horror movies, but I ADORE this movie! Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster are both phenomenal. He won an Oscar for his role and he was onscreen less fhan 15 minutes! Great movie! Asia's face when Clarice found the head in the car. Priceless!
