The book was fiction but was loosely inspired by real serial killers such as Gary Heidnik who had an underground torture chamber for victims and Ed Gein, the Butcher of Plainfield, who robbed graves in order to acquire their bones and skin, making bowls, lampshades, and articles of clothing. The show HANNIBAL is great and is basically inspired by two paragraphs of the first book RED DRAGON where Will Graham and Lecter have a conversation and reflect on the strange bond they share through mutual understanding. The studio didn't have the rights to SILENCE OF THE LAMBS (those movie rights were given to a different studio after the first Red Dragon movie MANHUNTER did so poorly), so because of that and other factors the show really reboots the canon and couldn't have anyone named Clarice or Buffalo Bill or Jame Gumb. Aaron: Is this Anthony Hopkins first role? Eric: he did a commercial Sigh. Lion in Winter, War and Peace (best version of Tolstoy's book), Hunchback of Notre Dame. Peter and Paul (ok that one I get not many have seen it)
The scene that shows him looking at the pen is meant to show what he was really focusing on , doctor Chilton was careless and Hannibal probably took the pen as soon as he got a chance during that day
My favorite piece of acting in this whole film is where she finally tells the whole story and he is about to tell her what she needs to know... except Chilton enters... and so he has to clam up... and you can see his anger, regret and then all of it fade into a blank shell in moments.... You know that once she told him the truth, he wanted to make good on his part, but COULDN'T because he absolutely would not share that information with Chilton.

Modern comic book movies aren't a substitute for actual great movies of days past.
i havent seen it because my uncle watched it and i saw some of it as a kid and it terrified me i saw the part where he bit the guys face
Literally my entire family.
But it's great.
Ed Gein was also the inspiration of Norman Bates of “Psycho” fame.
Well, you DEFINITELY need to watch Hannibal series. So freaking good!
Who thought non-cable TV could be so good.
Have you seen Misery? If not, you definately need to react to this.
I hope you react to the TV series Hannibal. It 's so good!!!

Okay now let's get them to watch the other films and then the series
No
@@CymruJedi Red Dragon is great
@@iont8172 yes, all movies are great. Yes, they are worse then Silence, but they are still amazing. People just had too high expectations for them after this.
You guys should watch the TV show too
Watch. Hannibal. Now.
The people need it!!
I'm joining the chorus of voices recommending you to watch the TV show. Hannibal is a gem among TV series - it's like dark beautiful art, gruesome yet elegant, even theatrical at times.
Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy are fenomenal - their chemistry, the way they developed these iconic characters and their relationship is something I've rarely seen in cinematography.
Will be glad to see your reaction to this show.
Perfectly said. This show is something else .
Now you have to watch the TV show. It is so awesome! Great actors, amazing sets and music. DO IT!!! :-)
Watch HANNIBAL the series you'll love it
Please please please watch "Mad Dog" and Hannibal the TV Show! Lol
Aaron: Is this Anthony Hopkins first role?
Eric: he did a commercial
Sigh. Lion in Winter, War and Peace (best version of Tolstoy's book), Hunchback of Notre Dame. Peter and Paul (ok that one I get not many have seen it)
Lion in winter is great
Don't forget The Elephant Man. It got 8 Oscar nominations and was one of the best movies of the 1980s. Hopkins was excellent in it.
Seriously...You guys need to react to the HANNIBAL series. One of the best TV shows in the past decade.
Gillian Anderson as the anti-Scully.
There is a sequel, and a prequel. The Hannibal tv show is also amazing. I love the movies, the books and the tv show. I hope you react to all of them!
2 Prequels.
I wish they'd watch the Hannibal TV-Show. It's so good.
"Whenever feasible, one should always try to eat the rude."
This movie is amazing!! It also won 5 Oscars in 1992 for Best Actor (Hopkins), Best Actress (Foster), Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Picture
Scott Glen (Crawford) has been in a ton of movies: Urban Cowboy, The Right Stuff, Hunt for Red October... the list is endless. Great actor!
love middle dudes ability to remain silent.
That first scene with Hannibal and Clarice is so amazing! Hopkins definitely earned every bit of that Oscar!
Just- watch NBC's Hannibal--- i'm begging you
PLEASE watch Hannibal the show, it is absolutely spectacular.
The scene that shows him looking at the pen is meant to show what he was really focusing on , doctor Chilton was careless and Hannibal probably took the pen as soon as he got a chance during that day
So there's a reaction to the Mads Mickelson Hannibal series coming right?
I'm gonna add another comment about the TV show Hannibal, it is truly a work of art and might just be my favourite show of all time
The guy who played Buffalo Bill was also Captain Stottlemeyer on the show Monk. Took me 20 years to figure that out.
This is such a classic horror movie, I love this one.
Oh, man. I sincerely hope you guys tackle Hannibal now that you've seen the Silence of the Lambs. It was just spectacularly done.
The hands cutting across the split screens at 7:40 is actually hilarious
I just realized “Silence of the Lambs” means Death
Blind Wave! react to Hannibal the tv series it's such a great show that you guys will definitely be intrigued by
It's one of the best network shows ever produced and honestly think Mads version of Hannibal is better.
@@chaost4544 same . I love Anthony Hopkins but Mads took it to another level for me.
Gotta watch Hannibal (2001) and Red Dragon now. Then Hannibal the TV series!
Eric killed me in the first 10 min!!🤣🤣🤣
Jack Crawford is played by Scott Glenn. He's one of my favorite actors. Great reaction fellas.
I just started season 2 of Hannibal and holy crap is it amazing. So intense, you guys should totally react to it
Can we all agree that Blind Wave has some of the coolest beards on UA-cam
first time Multiple Miggs in view...
Eric: CALVIN! That's how he looked like before we found him!
I - AM - DEAD!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I'd like to add my voice to recommend the TV show Hannibal! Some other reactors manage on UA-cam, but if you run into copyright trouble, you could as a last resort make it a Patreon-only reaction, I would totally pay to see it!
Such a classic 👍 great choice "Hey it's Calvin!" Lmao😂
Y'all should watch Hannibal!!! It's an excellent show
