Good video. Would be nice to see just a few more shots with the Widow later in the video, just so my eyes can see what the Effect is really doing. But from what I can see, it looks amazing!
Nice seeing the Effect shape from playing straighter to getting in. It would be great to compare the other ball also to see the difference. Please do in future videos.
@@Only_Quasi it does seem like a good ball but I agree, those first couple shots with widow and effect looked almost the same. Not sure why he didn’t open the lane up with widow. Honestly all of these balls are so close together that most of us probably don’t need to buy every new ball that comes out though it’s very tempting.
I feel the widow hybrid 2.0 is more angular than the Effect. Both are similar but handle the middle of the lane differently. Resulting in backend differences Downlane. I’m glad you enjoy the videos and I will for sure get more shots in when comparing since it is liked. I really wanted to focus on the mid lane roll of the effect. Thanks for watching. We enjoy making these for the Bowlers.
Try the Arctic vibe on a transitioning lane. I've drilled mine 5x4x2, seems to help it get through the dry front and has a massive backend. I have an effect 5x4x2 as well, and the vibe has more downland motion right to left, but the effect reads the mids sooner.
I'm not sure loyalists to the other brands even want the scents, though. A lot of the people we meet in the proshop feel it's a key distinction between the brands
They both have a spot in the bag due to their different rolls. However, if you’re looking to create more separation, I would probably leave the widow 2.0 out and go to something along the lines of a hazmat.
@@hammersomdy, I've got the 2.0 H and getting the effect, I know they roll a bit different, thanks for explaining the difference. I don't want to give up the 2.0 yet, just won't be used as much going forward. Arsenal, 3.0, Sensor solid, Effect, 2.0 hybrid, purple reactive, purple hammer. Throw in's laying around: Super Nova, Envision, BW 2.0, Rhodman Pearl
I have five different balls and they all do the same thing no matter how hard I try to get them to curve. My two "Go too" balls cost a total of $13, purchased at a local thrift store. It cost me more to have them re-drilled. As for the retail balls, I now have over $350 worth of doorstops. I just don't have the skills to get a ball to do anything but roll down the lane and hope for the best.
Try getting your fingers below the horizontal equator of the ball before release. At release, make sure your thumb comes out of the ball before your fingers to create rpm. If you have issues getting your fingers below the equator of the ball, the easiest way to do it for me is to drop my right shoulder lower just before release (I'm right handed). Other than that, it could just be that the surface of the balls you are throwing aren't meant for your game. If you throw really fast, it's unlikely that you'll have much luck with something shiny. If you throw really slow, a dull ball is likely to dig into the lane too early and burn up it's energy, causing it to straighten out. If you see this and try these things, I'd love an update. Good luck!
@@billm5435He made a great video, as they always do on this channel. Who cares what you think about how he wipes his ball? Holy shit, just pay the guy a compliment instead of being critical.
you need to say where you are standing what board. then what board you are throwing to. cannot relate this to me at all. all I see is the roll and hit. give us the whole story please.
Got mine on release day. Shot 785. Already liking this ball alot. Had to put some shine on mine already
Dang. Nice!
I had 300 and 760 first set with my Effect.

Thanks! I think Joe said he'll add a few extra shots of comparison balls in his upcoming vids. :)
Got mine drilled can’t wait to test on a fresh pair. Ball seems awesome even on a trashed pair.
Hope you like yours when you get it!

I love the Widow 2.0. My favorite ball by far.
Nice to know where you ard standing and what you're looking at. I mean we can guessamate but if it were mentioned it would be cool
Can you post a short video of your layout and pin placement on the Effect?
I measured the layout for Joe, and I he has it posted below now in the comments. 35 x 5 1/8 x 35
Nice ball review. Got my Effect and love it !
Congrats!
I usually enjoy these videos but how is this a comparison? You threw the widow 2x 🤷🏻♂️
I really hope they went more in-depth. They look too similar that it kinda feels like people are just hyping it up

@@surfboardshack3327 yeah it's always "clean through the fronts, reads the mids well, and plenty of action in the backend!"

2.0 hybrid with 2000 grit surface is everything
i have the hammer toxin that’s an absolute beast

How about throwing this one along with the Arctic Vibe? Should make a great pair together!
We may have an Arctic Vibe video coming in the future... trying to decide what specially to do with it

you moved to the left but you threw it way out into the dry so yes its going to hook more so would your 2.0
What was your dual angle layout numbers on the effect?
I was told Storm lost their Patent on the scented balls. Every rival company will have them soon

As you said is there a need for both balls in an arsenal? Maybe sruface change to 2.0 to differ from Effect?

I didn't know Louis CK has a bowling channel?! 😮
He's a man of many talents
You really should be wiping the ball down after every shot to get a consistent hit.
I didn’t really feel oil on the cover creating a need to wipe the ball off. I do when I feel it’s needed.
