Sarah's Cashew Cream Tzatziki (follow her on Instagram for more!! sarahthereseco?...)
    Ingredients:
1 batch of cashew cream (1 1/2 cups raw cashews soaked until soft, blended with 1/2-1 cup of water)
    1 long English cucumber
    2 cloves of garlic
    2 TBSP white vinegar
    1 1/2 + 1/2 tsp sea salt
    1 tsp mustard
    1 TBSP lemon juice
    1/2 tsp pepper
    1 TBSP dill
1/4 cup chopped green onion (optional)
    Directions:
    1. Using a large plate and a large cloth or tea towel, place the cloth on the plate and start grating your cucumber onto it. Arrange the cucumber flat on the towel and sprinkle 1 1/2 tsp of sea salt evenly on top. This is for flavour and to encourage the juices to release from the veggie. Put this aside while you work on the cream.
    2. To the blender, add cashew cream, 1/2 tsp sea salt, vinegar, garlic, lemon juice, mustard, and pepper. Blend until very creamy!
    3. Pour your cashew cream into a bowl and add in your dill and green onion. Mix well. Then, taking a the cloth with cucumber, squeeze out all the cucumber juice from the grated cucumber. We won't be needing that juice!
    4. Once well squeezed, add the grated cucumber into the cashew cream and mix one more time. Put in the fridge to cool and eat whenever you are ready! It keeps 7-10 days in the fridge.

Whole grains with a high fiber content, coffee, tea, milk and milk products, as well as spinach make it difficult to utilize the iron that is taken in.
It is worth taking iron together with vitamin C away from meals, so you will get the best results.
    - if you accept the experiences of an iron-deficient girl :)

@@beans4853depends on what's causing the constipation. one of the reasons pregnant women get constipated towards the end of pregnancy is the fetus literally pressing on the bowel and making it harder to pass food; being dehydrated would make the problem worse, but just drinking more water wouldn't prevent it all together

Re: Muffins. I made my own sourdough discard muffin recipe for savory muffins (Jalapeno cheddar, everything bagel, ect). I love it and I think you could convert it into a lemon poppy seed by adding juice of 1 lemon and 3+ tablespoon poppy seeds. When I do everything bagel seasoning I do 4 tablespoons so I'm thinking 3T would be good.
    See what you think!
    1.5C flour.
1/4- 1/2C sugar (only use 1/8-1/4 C if making savory muffins, i like an 8th cup)
    1T baking Powder
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 egg
    1/3 C milk
    1/2C coconut oil (melted)
    1/2 C sourdough discard.
Mix the dry in one bowl, the wet in a different bowl. Whisk wet ingredients into dry. Add in your extras of choice! (in your case poppy seeds and lemon juice)
Refrigerate overnight for long ferment, but ok to use right away.
Bake at 425F x10 min, reduce to 350F for 5-10 minutes more.
    makes 10-12 muffins.

Veggie chili could be a good high iron dinner idea! You could also freeze some for an easy meal later. A chickpea pasta salad could be yummy esp for summer, almost like a rendition of a tuna noodle salad but with chickpeas instead. If you are really worried about Iron you could always pick up a few fortified packaged food items - a low sugar cereal/granola that could go on yogurt or with milk for brekky, fortified pastas are always good. I love making themed bowls based around a few key ingredients like a Mexican bowl, Mediterranean bowl, Buddha Bowl etc. I always do a base like diced baked potatoes, rice, or quinoa. Add your protein and 1-2 veggies. The key to make these extra yummy is to always have a saucy topping like a hummus, guac, or Aioli, and to quick pickle some veggies that are nice and vinegary or spicy (obvi not for the kids)! SO YUM! Your kids could add their own toppings and have fun with it. Loved to watch you cook :)
P.S. Flax, hemp, chia, and a nut mix are fab additions to any meal or snack to get those micronutrients in

I just heard this tip recently that you might like to add iron to your diet- add liver to ground meat recipes. The suggestion was to make patè with the liver then freeze that patè in ice cube trays. When you go to make something with ground meat (especially flavorful recipes like tacos, shepherd pie, chili, etc.) Add an ice cube size portion of pate and you'll be adding a ton of iron and other important nutrients! Also, a great postpartum recovery hack!

My mom adds chia seeds to her oatmeal for extra fiber.
For iron, I make "refried black beans" with 2 cans of black beans (one can drained) - cooked on the stove for a bit with half a packet of onion soup mix - then pureed in the blender. Serve with cilantro lime white rice ( iron), a corn salad (fiber), and whatever other "mexican" dish.
Edamame is super good steamed and tossed in like a bulgolgi sauce.

Beef liver is best iron. You can supplement it! So many other good things in there too. Helped me during my pregnancy.
Also!!! Preppy kitchen hands down best lemon poppy seed I’ve had

I love the editing. The video was fast, no slow reeeally slow footage like some dramatic food videos out there. I am also a mom of soon 4 kids and this is realistic and great. The only problem is I am hungry now after watching this :)

I made the mistake of starting to watch this video before breakfast... I had to stop, because damn does this make me hungry. 😂 Everything looks incredibly delicious and I just love watching you prepare food. I could watch you in the kitchen all day long. It also gives me so many inspiration for my own family. I love this kind of content! ❤️

Thank you sooo much for this video!! I love all your content!! But this was particularly helpful and inspiring as I can feel a little defeated in the kitchen. All of your meals looked so yummy! They were creative and even brought back memories of my childhood. Thank you again. I hope to see more of your recipes!!

I believe you can buy an iron fish that you can just put into whatever you're cooking to naturally help increase your iron.
