Am I the only one who sees this and thinks that some dude tightrope walking with no audience and drilling into rocks that have been there for eons for his own pleasure is ridiculous? I appreciate the beauty of nature and the great outdoors but this is just, well, stupid. But he did get to rename it "highlining" instead of tightrope walking. Whatever happened to "leave no trace?" Just get a drone and leave the rocks alone.
That's your big take away? 6 little bolts on the top of a rock that most people will never see? What do you think when you see a ski-lift? Or a football stadium? Or a highway? Or a city? In terms of permanent impact, even in a natural space, this is minimal.
Ffs! Ryan lives a minimalist no trace life. Placing anchors isn't just for him; it enables others in the climbing world to explore and experience nature. Guaranteed the majority, if not all, mountaineers do a life's worth of conservation compared to anyone standing up for rocks and complaining about things they clearly don't understand.
Did I just watch an advert for an RV?
Respect to all the brothers out there who choose this life despite the fear
amazing
Great video !
@@GetOutsideYT Norway I guess 🤷🏻♀️😁

Incredible! If Carl Walenda would have harness, he would live longer..
*Sees Rope backup*, "WHAT YEAR IS IT?!?"

I was with you up until the burgers.

I was just thinking the same thing as I watched this. Drilling into the rock is NOT okay! I gave it a thumbs down.
there are cleaner climbing / highline styles, using mobile and natural anchors, without nailing staples or flaps
