True. The Helots were treated horribly. Plus, the Helots used to be independent Greeks, and the city states had a rule that Greeks couldn’t enslave Greeks. Sparta broke that rule. Anyway, Sparta was a brutal culture for sure, but I still think it’s really interesting and unique as well
Jango was born on Concord Dawn (Legends), and was Born a Mandalorian of Clan Fett. He was also a member of the True Mandalorians, who were Sworn Enemies of Death Watch (who also killed Fett's parents).
At 1:12 I believe you meant to say the Great Purge. The siege of mandalore happened in 19bby where maul still has the dark saber. Bo Katan acquired the dark saber in 1bby as seen in rebels. Then the purge happened and then moff gideon has it. And at 7:45 the Night of a Thousand Tears happened in 19 bby during the siege of mandalore. The purge (1bby) and by extension the beskar was stolen later
For some reason Jango Fett and therefore Boba Fett have been retconned and are NOT Mandalorians anymore. They just wear Mandalorian armor and the Mandos are apparently ok with that. Probably for no reason other than Disney shitting on all characters created by Lucas to try and prop up the Disney created characters. 1:13 you mean the Mandalorian Purge. The Siege of Mandalore was in 19 BBY, and Maul was still in possession of the Darksaber until around 2 BBY when Sabine Wren took it from him.

Someone needs to make an animation of a Mandalorian who is fully kitted out with all of these awesome weapons and armour. I don’t just mean a few, I mean they have: Full beskar armour, whistling birds, shield gauntlet, wrist blaster and flamethrower, wrist saw blade projectiles, whipcord, wrist vibroblade, dual blaster pistols, crushing gauntlet things (sorry I don’t remember what they’re called but you get the point) and finally jet pack with homing rocket. Yep the full kit-armed to the teeth like a true Mando would! Such a diverse armament would make for some super creative kills and would break up the repetitive nature of shooting enemy after enemy with just a standard blaster. It could be an animation where said Mando goes absolutely ham on just say... 100 enemy’s! Plus the suspension of disbelief would be more well... believable due to the fact that the Mando would have a devastating amount of fire power plus he/she could be able to rely on their armour to tank a lot of the blaster bolts without going down. Idk the believability aspect might seem strange considering we’re talking about Star Wars here but generally speaking things are 1000 times cooler when they’re some what realistic because you are able to better conceptualize and relate to the situation at hand. For example: An animation that depicts a guy wielding an M16 while wearing nothing but jeans and a pair of shoes who goes on to take out 100 armed guys by himself wouldn’t be cool cause it would just seem cheesy and stupid. Like first of all the “bad guys” would have to be written in such a way where they are bumbling idiots who purposely miss every shot just so that the “good guy” can win. Now insert Mando animation where the Mando directly takes on 100 armed baddies on a open field. This can still be dramatic and somewhat over the top but at the same time it’s still believable because a person who has been raised in a warrior culture from birth, trained in multiple hand to hand disciplines, undergone rigorous firearm and knife fighting training, as well as being able to do all of this whilst flying on a jet pack (which would grant great maneuverability therefor making him/her harder to hit) with a huge arsenal and incredibly powerful armour could quite possibly and realistically take out multiple enemies even if said enemies are competent and well trained soldiers. Hell, look at Jango he took at multiple Jedi in one sitting and Jedi are fan nominal warriors who didn’t hold back in this engagement. Remember Rambo style combat isn’t cool because we all know that the enemies we’re destined to fail with their horrible movement and poor accuracy-plus I just really want to see a Mando animation, lol! I know Jango and Boba are mandos anymore but they could be again. Jango was part of Deathwatch but when they were casted off to concord dawn and internal disputes Jango leaves and goes BH. Reasons for the Mando PM to denouxe Jango.Jangos armor is never damaged and only killed by beheading, like two other deathwatch by asokha, thus its beskar. Boba however despite being Jangos clone and son he is orphaned and fully never indoctrinated into mando culture. However, the armor he acquired is older Mando armor pre beskar as the video stated they utilized during that specific time period. Prolly became more popular due to conflict with jedi. Thus, Boba utilized durasteel and more storied mando armor.
MetaNerdz Lore was it death watch that rescued the mandalorian, or just militant mandalorians? I know in legends there were multiple militant groups, couldn’t this idea be brought back into canon? I don’t know, I just think that Death Watch was a terrorist group and that they wouldn’t rescue a non mando kid.
cool history yay there’s actually a funko pop of one of those mandalorians, and it’s titled “Death Watch Mandalorian”. It also has the Clan Vizsla symbol on its shoulder armor.
What I’m gather from Mandalorians is that when they were at war with the Jedi, they had a problem dealing with their force powers. So they just ended up going “Use more guns! MORE! THEY CAN’T DEFLECT ALL THE BOLTS!”
Grand Admiral Thrawn that kinda bugged me when he said that. Plus he left out a bunch of other devices Mandalorians used in Legends as well such as corrosive grenades, proximity mines, and many others. And he didn't even bring up the diverse and deadly Neo-Crusader war fleet 😎
I’m pretty sure the homing variant of the rockets fired from their jet packs would be linked to their helmets. Where the weirder looked could be where the rockets would fly over to like laser guided
It's worth noting that a Gauntlet fighter is also a transport and is something like ten times longer than a Fang Fighter (one person fighter). I also don't think there's evidence of pivoting wing allowing vertical landing on the Fang, but I could well be wrong.
While Mandalorians are awesome, the face plate is not very effective. The T-Shape visor is menacing and beautiful, but if mandalorians relied only on the visor, then they would effectively be blind in battle. It's only because of the heads-up display inside the helmet, which offers a 360 degree view, that allows mandalorians to be able to use the helmet. Of course, I am not an expert in Legends, so there could be something else that allows the T-shape visor to be so effective. If anyone is an expert in Legends, and you know something, then please comment. Edit: My favorite blaster design in Star Wars is the WESTAR-35 blaster pistol, with WESTAR -34's as backup pistols. I would choose WESTAR-35's as the pistols on my belt, and WESTAR-34's as the pistols in my boots. Also, the Mandalorian blaster carbine used by the death watch is called the GALAAR-15 blaster carbine.
Just a note: it's never stated by a character in the show that Jango wasn't Mandalorian. All that's said by Prime Minister Almec is that Fett was "a common bounty hunter", and that "how he acquired that armor is beyond me". That's not a definitive statement as to Fett's background.
You make it sound like the Great Mandalorian purge takes place during the Siege of Mandalore (Clone Wars) when the purge actually takes place shortly after Bo-Katan received the dark saber from Sabine Wren
I'm actually curious and this was something me and a friend brought up. Is there any proof of EMP insulating armor or shielding in star wars? Like you would think the CIS would have countered all these ion weapons that the republic has and made them essentially useless.
MetaNerdz Lore if I had to guess they would of known how much aerial dog fighting would be involved with taking on rival Mandos. Mobility is everything in these fights so carbines or heavy blasters would of left a warrior at a disadvantage
@@rennac3152 That could be true for the attack on the gunships, but in the city when there were more troops on foot the carbines could've been better. Plus, carbines themselves are already designed to be lighter and more versatile weapons.
Folding metal during forging doesn't make a stronger blade, it just gets impurities out of the metal, because the iron used in Katanas wasn't very pure
The beskad wasnt really treated like a katana. They used it also as a farming tool, in one of the legends books where jaina is being trained with one she notes that ot has green plant matter caked on it and ( dont recall his name, think it starts woth a g.) Says his husband used it to till the field.
Jango was born on concordawn it's in Mandolorin space but it's not Mandlor so technically Jango isn't Mandolorin but he is a foundling until stated otherwise
And that makes it stronger. I know what you mean and why you point it out, the anime people thinking the katana was the best blade in history and can slice through armor are silly, but then the actual military/history buffs I see in the comments are assuming I don't know that or attaching extra meaning to what I said. That process makes it more durable, and then it is made razor sharp. That is true, and doesn't mean stronger than every sword ever made super anime slash lol
@@MetaNerdzLore It was just your phrasing that's all. You just said folding makes it stronger which most people will take as folding any steel = stronk. Overall it was a nitpick.
In legends Jango Fett and Boba Fett were definitely Mandalorians. Theres a entire comic dedicated to Jango during his time with the True Mandalorians faction. Considering the comment that Jango Fett wasn't a Mandalorian exists in both Legends and Canon I'm inclined to believe it's a lie since that's how it was originally written.
"Perhaps there will be no new age, Mandalore, no great Mandalorian crusade. Perhaps your people fought their last battle at Malachor V, and you have been dying ever since, a quiet death that will last centuries.
It looks like Boba's EE-3 during episode V with a forward grip.
Fun facts about katanas is that the folding was to remove the high amounts of carbon in the ore found in Japan
What I’m gather from Mandalorians is that when they were at war with the Jedi, they had a problem dealing with their force powers. So they just ended up going “Use more guns! MORE! THEY CAN’T DEFLECT ALL THE BOLTS!”
I really hope to see more of blacksmith mando. She's a cool character.
i think we can all agree that Mandalorians are just straight gods
the mandalorian repulsors 😎 best
weapons
The Night of a Thousand Tears is different from The Siege of Mandolor. The Night of a Thousand Tears also happened after the Rebels series ended.
This is the greatest. Damn i love the lore.
I really should finish watching The Mandolorian...
Great information on the Mandolorian weapons working on a Mandolorian outfit and you gave me some ideas.
Mandalorian tech are usually interesting imo
Mandalorians are like Spartans
The mandalorian are well equipped to a point where they don’t need a fighter to take down gunships.
Actually the mandalore helmet was the legands version of a the dark saber
Grand Admiral Thrawn that kinda bugged me when he said that. Plus he left out a bunch of other devices Mandalorians used in Legends as well such as corrosive grenades, proximity mines, and many others. And he didn't even bring up the diverse and deadly Neo-Crusader war fleet 😎
Until Revan hid it to prevent future Mandalor Warlords.
@@donnovandalusong266 Revan actually found and gave it to Candourous Ordo( I think that’s the name).
*Ke nu'jurkadir sha Mando'ade!*
I’m pretty sure the homing variant of the rockets fired from their jet packs would be linked to their helmets. Where the weirder looked could be where the rockets would fly over to like laser guided
U forgot to mention other Mandalorian vehicles from Legends, such as the Canderous tank and the Bes’uliik fighter
I love George Lucas but screw what he says about Jango Fett and Boba Fett they are both Mandalorians!
Indeed, Ner Vod, they also held the title of Mand'alor, the sole leader of the mandalorians in their days.
I agree
It'd make sense if New Mandalore simply cut their ties with Jango since the True Mandalorians, the faction he was with, weren't entirely pacifists.
@@mylifeisacomplexpastiche7901 that is what i take it as in my headcanon, Almec is not soneone to take at his word
My Life is a Complex Pastiche I like that idea.
I will always believe that the Fetts are true Mandalorians and that the ones who said they weren’t had a grudge against the Fetts
It must be awesome to be an Mandalorian.
By logic from The Mandalorian, Jango is a Foundling. As technically Boba would be.
There just Amazing 😍
Lol agree
Best youtuber ever, keep it up
Vambraces: flamethrower, blaster, saw blade launcher, whistling birds, repulsion blast, grappling hook and a lot more
Also in legends material the Mandolrian helmet had a 360° view on their HUD....
Don't forget the Basilisk war droids!
Thank you for this MetaNerdz
You make it sound like the Great Mandalorian purge takes place during the Siege of Mandalore (Clone Wars) when the purge actually takes place shortly after Bo-Katan received the dark saber from Sabine Wren
I think you need to difference more between legends and canon since they are more different now. Still great video
I'm actually curious and this was something me and a friend brought up. Is there any proof of EMP insulating armor or shielding in star wars? Like you would think the CIS would have countered all these ion weapons that the republic has and made them essentially useless.
i love the mandalorian with the korinthian style helmet in the mandalorian
Mandalorians rise up!
The only weapon the Mandalorians use in the Siege of Mandalore are dual westar 35s, and there are no carbines.
Yeah idk why, maybe next episode
MetaNerdz Lore if I had to guess they would of known how much aerial dog fighting would be involved with taking on rival Mandos. Mobility is everything in these fights so carbines or heavy blasters would of left a warrior at a disadvantage
@@rennac3152 That could be true for the attack on the gunships, but in the city when there were more troops on foot the carbines could've been better. Plus, carbines themselves are already designed to be lighter and more versatile weapons.
Darth Dystopian can’t argue with that, Saxon was killing it with his custom rifle variant in that final hail marry attack
Folding metal during forging doesn't make a stronger blade, it just gets impurities out of the metal, because the iron used in Katanas wasn't very pure
Crucible foraging creates purer steel, I find it hard to believe that a warrior culture like the Mandalorians wouldn't have figured that out.
-Sees a side character in Return of the Jedi with cool armor
-We could make a religion out of this
Mandos for life
Who else is watching after din gets the dark saber
The beskad wasnt really treated like a katana. They used it also as a farming tool, in one of the legends books where jaina is being trained with one she notes that ot has green plant matter caked on it and ( dont recall his name, think it starts woth a g.) Says his husband used it to till the field.
Jango was born on concordawn it's in Mandolorin space but it's not Mandlor so technically Jango isn't Mandolorin but he is a foundling until stated otherwise
Awesome video
Thanks!
MetaNerdz Lore no problem
Boba Fett is the reason the mandolorians are a thing but then Lucas made them not mandos?!? What was his thought process there ....
1:08 now the current holder is din Jarro from the Mandalorian
I think you forgot to mention that sabine wren's mandalorian vambraces were equipped with paralyzing darts, grappling lines, and repulsors.
Note folding a blade does not make it stronger or sharper. It's used to purify low quality iron, which was the only iron available to the japanese.
Sabine Made a fool of mandalore
In legends Jango Fett and Boba Fett were definitely Mandalorians. Theres a entire comic dedicated to Jango during his time with the True Mandalorians faction. Considering the comment that Jango Fett wasn't a Mandalorian exists in both Legends and Canon I'm inclined to believe it's a lie since that's how it was originally written.
"Perhaps there will be no new age, Mandalore, no great Mandalorian crusade. Perhaps your people fought their last battle at Malachor V, and you have been dying ever since, a quiet death that will last centuries. And perhaps all that remains will be what I see before me: a man, wounded by a Jedi, encased in a Mandalorian shell, haunted by the thought of being the last of the Mandalorians." - Kreia
No mention of slave one perhaps the most iconic of all mandalorian space ships with the exception of the falcon.
This video made me happy. Traat'aliit gar besbe'trayc
The death watch mandos in the Mandalorian look like they are using relby V-10 blaster rifles
3:00 it was also used by the 21st NovaCore
Last time i checked,Mask of the Mandalore was the only thing that could unite the Clans.
Me:bored
Metanerd: a low me to introduce myself
I kinda like the WESTAR-34 and 35. Although I’m not sure about the GALAAR-15 blaster carbine and prefer them to have the EE-3 blaster carbine
I always like the mandolorian protectors armor it was very centurion esque
