  • Ahead of the UK premier performance of A Crimson Grail, Andrew Ellis speaks to the man behind it all, Rhys Chatham...
For the launch of Liverpool Biennial 2012, Rhys Chatham, legendary minimalist composer and spearhead of the New York No Wave scene, appeared at the Anglican Cathedral for a very special, UK premier performance of A Crimson Grail (for 100 guitars and 8 basses). As part of our 'in conversation' series between Biennial and Liverpool based artists, Rhys speaks to producer of the event, Andrew Ellis of Samizdat Promotions, about working with Phillip Glass and the Ramones, Lord Tennyson poems and playing electric guitar!
