- FIRST LOOK: The Tribute Edition is just 1 of 1000 special Stinger GTs being built by Kia. This is the end official of the road for this sport seda. The Tribute Edition has a special satin siler paint job, black wheels, black Brembo calipers and special interior. Under the hood is a 3.3L twin-turbo V6 mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The car business is based on sales and they didn't sell a lot of these because too many people just went to the BMW showroom without testing this wonderful car. Kia gives you the most car for the money and the quality is virtually flawless. I have a 2022 and love it every day.

I think they also went into production with this car right before the COVID-19 pandemic happened. The shutdown might have really impacted Stinger sales as well.
@@AzymisGFX the stinger has been in production since 2017. And sales peaked in 2018 and dropped after that. The pandemic had nothing to do with it. The Stinger was a Kia and that’s why it never sold well. A mainline brand in a car segment that is luxury.
@@DeadAir21 I simply always thought they didn't sell well just bc they were on the pricey side. I never did see them much on the road either and still don't.
@@porfiriato84 they were. Slightly cheaper than luxury cars and if you’re that close, you might as well get luxury. It’s Korean cousin, the Genesis G70 could be had for cheaper than stinger.
The Stinger deserved more love and appreciation. Such a nice car, sporty and luxury.

It was way too expensive. These were 50k when you could get a well equipped Scat Pack for 40... now that Stellantis is selling the Scat Packs for 60k this looks like the right choice but back in 2020 and before there was really no contest
@Vanquished Nah bro, before 2020 people were getting big discounts on the Stinger too. The cheapest turbo 6 trim was in line with the what people were paying for Charger Scat Packs. There might have been a 2 to 3k difference but people definitely weren't paying 50k back then.
But you're right the Scat Pack is much more expensive now, along with this car.
The funny thing is people come here and say 50K is too much for this car but you never seen those comments in Scat Pack videos.
Yep, alot of people are still stuck in the "its a kia" mentality from 10 years ago.

But I was actively shopping the Stingers and I never found a significant discount.

I ended up getting a 2023 GT2 a few weeks back and absolutely love it! But I do agree with you, I think the tribute edition should have had a few extra bells and whistles such as an HP increase, rear spoiler lip, and side/front splitters.

Yes, carbon fiber lip spoiler and carbon fiber mirror caps. Maybe even a carbon fiber front splitter and side skirts. Up the hp to 401.

Makes no sense how these are being discontinued these are EASILY one of the best looking affordable cars on the market right now. It’s a damn shame, hopefully they come back with something even better because these Stingers are legit

@@MercOne that sedan has enough horsepower for most people’s daily driving. 0-60 under 5 sec. Has a hatchback. Nice interior with no piano black. Find me another car that all of these things under $60k. I dont even need to mention the bumper-to-bumper 100k mile warranty
@@tannyocean9984 Nothing you've just said describes the greatest sports sedan in modern history. Are you high or something? A dozen sedans will obliterate this car easily. No conscious person would call this the greatest sports sedan in modern history. It's absurd, to put it mildly. Finding another car cheaper isn't the point, he didn't say value, he said "greatest", not cheapest or under 60K. Do you not understand the difference?
@@MercOne Yeah I agree calling it the “greatest sports sedan in modern history” is dumb but I’d rephrase it as the “Greatest sports sedan under $55k”. I got my GT2 for $42k with 7k miles so at that price range I’d say it’s without a doubt the best bang for your buck.
Name a sedan that “will obliterate this car easily” at $55k? If less than half a second quicker to 60 is “obliterating” then a Scat Pack or M340i are the only answers unless you want to include the Tesla Model 3 Performance and none of these have a hatchback
@@mrscottmescudi10 Once you introduce price, you should have just stopped. Price was not the point here. It doesn’t matter how low you set the price, it’s not the greatest sports sedan in modern history. Period. Argue price and all that other BS with someone else. I made my point already.
The Stinger was a break through model for the brand. It shifted the perception from cheap (and unremarkable) products to something that is above many other brands when considering the price points. I think the Stinger cleared the way for the Telluride to gain traction in the market because of the change in perception of the brand. I remember the prior attempt by Kia to sell a larger SUV and it was a disaster. I would love to one day own a Stinger. Nice tribute to an era when there were real cars and precious few expensive golf carts.
I bought a 2023 GT2 AWD Grand Tourer edition in HiChroma Red. I love the interior and red stitching in that trim. This tribute edition looks cool too. Glad I was able to find one for its final year!

Enjoyed stinger for 60k miles with lots of smiles along the way. It saw most of the east and west coast. It was a great experience, I would be saying bye to mine soon, getting family cars (I did get BRZ for fun car).
I love the looks of this car. Having different color leather is so much better than boring, black leather.

I had a 2020, finally had to downgrade because of the economy to save money on gas, but MAN I LOVED THAT CAR. I hope they come back with it. At the time it was one of the fastest, most comfortable affordable cars. Got a GT for 30k out the door since all I cared about was the engine. With the space and the looks, I couldn’t believe it was that fast for the price.
I own 3 top end trim KIA vehicles love this brand. STINGER K5 telluride all with top trims joe you rock the best in the business
'21 Stinger GT limited owner here. Absolutely loving it. I can pick up my parents from the airport AND go autocrossing and really compete. What a car!! So sad Kia is killing it, but sign of the times I guess.

I have a 2023 GT AWD and it's so much fun. It's not the tribute but it's still amazing. The twin turbos really push this thing down the road.

Yo Joe! Sad that the Stinger is going away. Always loved the looks and performance for the $. Applaud KIA for taking the chance and building a “Grand Tourer”. I think people expected a M5 or AMG for less when it’s really a A5 competitor. Solid performance and excellent looks set the bar for the KIA brand.
This is the last of the Stinger GT the horsepower should have been at least 400 go out with a bang.

Wasnt able to test drive gt1 or gt2 in dealerships near me while stingers been out for years. Test drove gt line and i love every design and practicality of it.
I have said it so many time and I will keep saying it. The Stinger GT, when everything such as performance, standard equipment, quality, warranty and price are considered, is the best value for money car on the road.
I love mine and always will. Sporty, luxurious, classy.

I had a 2018 GT2 and traded it in for a 2023 GT2 Grand Tourer edition once I heard this was the last year. Maybe move quickly if you can because they'll have to cease production well before 2024 to avoid the chance dealers will be sitting on them into next year.
They needed to add more into the stinger. I own a 22 gt it's perfect daily driver but for 60k for the gt2 the argument becomes your options open up. It justify the 60k price point. I loved the wolf gray red interior combo but the dealers were marking them up to be unrealistic. Maybe in another time the stinger would have been a game changer. At least it lives on in the genesis g70
Love the color. I remember when the Stinger came out with that stunning gun metal gray. And then Audi followed suit with the Nardo Gray, and so many others.
There should be a pull cord in the backseat, that opens the trunk. I have one in my 2015 Optima Hybrid EX. I learned that one day, when my battery died.
I have every option for my 2015 Optima Hybrid EX. Heated/Cooled front seats, Heated backseats, heated steering wheel, nav/Android auto/Apple Carplay, power folding mirrors, HID headlights, updated GPS from MapNSoft, etc.

Love my '21 Stinger GT2 and not looking back. I don't regret not having the Scorpion or the Tribute. Such an awesome car. I also don't care about the larger touchscreen that started in the '22 models. I hardly use the touchscreen ever.

I just got a 2023 Kia stinger gt2 awd. I love it and I’m not mad about trading in my 2020 charger scat pack for it.
This is a great car, I bought brand new in 2019 and have almost 50000 miles on it. Just a simple JB4 and some intakes and it wakes up. Great daily!! Hichroma red GT2

Unfortunately Kia dealers and this car are a nightmare. People who typically want a k5 or telluride are probably in a different audience than a stinger shopper. Two years ago I went in to get one, they weren’t taking any less than 70k for a base model. I laughed and went and got myself an Audi instead

I love the color of the tribute addition stinger gt 😍. I'm thinking about getting one but not positive about it yet. I have the base model right now but it's still a great car on saving gas but I would love the V6 turbo charged engine. I'll just have to keep it in mind for now. Hopefully it won't sell out fast but who knows. Thank you for your time and information on everything 🙏 I love watching your videos all the time.

The Stinger kind of reminds me of the Tiburon. Overlooked but solid performance for the price. I love my Stinger, It turns heads every time I drive it.People are looking for the badge. Wondering what type of car it is. I put the vintage Korean Kia badge on it to confuse them even more lol. I'm glad I was able to cop one before they are discontinued.

I just found out about the stinger and they are killing it off....dang i was really liking it and was looking more into buying one, BUT who knows how hard parts/repairs will be in the future. I think better advertising might have made these more common. Im a car guy and hadn't heard of it before (that i can remember).

KIA gives luxury at an inexpensive price. My girlfriend bought a new, loaded 2015 KIA Optima (list price 33k). To this day it only has 42k miles on it and looks and runs brand new. Gotta love the 10 year or 100 k mile warranty it came with as well. Not to mention the zero down, zero percent financing, and factory rebate! KIA cars are great.

i have a 2022 stinger gt-line and its awesome. as a highschooler i honestly didnt need the extra 68hp but the 2.5t still pulls like crazy especially because i have little experience with performance cars. its the perfect mix of daily driveability and backroad fun. plus you get attention pretty much everywhere you go. couldnt recommend this car more (id recommend the ceramic silver if you get a regular gt or gt-line)
