Good video. I like Subaru's . I have owned 3 or 4 of them, and currently daily one. With that said I knew right away no matter how much "lift & Lockers" you give them they are not offroad rigs. Great for FS roads, but once you put them on trails like the one in this video you are stressing components like crazy. PLEASE TO NOT ATTEMPT this trail in the rain. Its hell even on 40's sometimes. My offroad rig is a 2016 JKUR 1 tons, 40's, hydro assist, 4" lift, and a shit ton of other mods. Hope to see you on the trails. ~Cheers
I almost bought a Subaru Outback Wilderness but couldn't work the numbers out like I wanted with the dealership. They asked about a 4WD Jeep Grand Cherokee and I didnt really think much about it. Drove it and liked it and it worked out instead. The more I've learned about it, the ZF8, 295HP 3.6, I'm glad I ended up with the Jeep instead. It's been a great vehicle.
Wassup my Braddah....Awesome video as always. The scenery...the company...the new friends you all made just the good vibe that it brings out in everyone when fourwheeling together. As always Love and Aloha my Braddah!
Rock mode is basically a "better simulation" of front and rear lockers. Rock mode makes the traction system more aggressive. Those modes just "hint" The computer about the coefficient friction. And so that helps the programming for the traction systems. With mine , it makes the brake lock differential programming more aggressive. Your system is a little different. You have quadra drive which is a little bit different (supposed to be better). For my jeep , I can't use rock mode unless I'm also in low... And being in low adds a ton more torque. So that's the connection. Technically.. it's like 2.73 times more torque in mine. Whatever your transfer case ratio is... That's the torque multiple. That's wheel torque, not engine torque... But at the end of the day , especially for off road, wheel torque is all that matters. Wheel torque is gearing x engine torque (basically).
Wish I didn’t sell my jeep :( but my 2wd prerunner will get it done! Hopefully the 35s and 4.88 rear gear would get me up that. Pretty sick you did that hill. I’m glad we didn’t even try it in the snow!
Super cool night shots with the drone! I was taught by the OG offeoaders...whenever you are on dirt...4Low. There are a few exceptions, but its just overall easier on the vehicle AND the trail. No low range/torque means more send it, more send it means more broken parts. No thanks.

I cannot get over that shot at 23:24 ! Absolutely beautiful
Edit: And those drone shots at the end are to die for!
Thank you so much!

Why did you have to say don’t do it?!!!! Now I have to haha. Thanks ! Hope to see you!!!
Great idea for a video!
There's always three things that keep me from buying a Subaru.
1. No low range
2. CVT
3. Front bumper / approach angle sucks.
@@off-roadingexplained8417 hey! Thanks.
Low range is a big factor
