    Need to consider if you buy new that most of those mods will void your mechanical warranty.

    Great vid guys, I'm definetly leaning towards the Manta exhaust upgrade for our Patrol, looks pretty good. Planning a 15k km trip for next year from Perth to Qld coast via Outback way and back across the top.

    Totally agree Scangauge all day, I fitted a Flashlube catch can to the LC 200 at 200kls just back from W.A. 60,000k on the clock no issues. Both Provent & Flashlube have pressure relief for safety I empty every 5k. Safe Travels S&K 👍

    For me, A fridge, roof top tent/swag, maxtracks/shovel, family/friends, 2 way if in convo, bullbar and maybe lights if you travel at night.
    Big tyres are a waste, skinny tires are the best, stock are fine. Don't get a lift unless you need it for the tyres, you probably don't. You don't need much, we have been EVERYWHERE in a stock car. They drive better, use no fuel and cheaper. You can make a car worse on and off road if you do the wrong things.

      Grows arms and legs if you wanna tow. Then it's gvm upgrades, on board compressors and electric brake controller. Before you know it your adding a roof rack, awning camp lights and 2nd battery.

    Totally with you but my first mod was the GVM upgrade prior to initial rego (Federal compliance preferred) as I knew prior to buying I'd require a GVM upgrade. The federal compliance certified upgrade, (secondary manufacturer compliance) gives me 100% peace of mind as it's legitimate in every state of Aus.
    Then snorkel, exhaust & yes for us a catch can (our vehicle was new, so elimated blow by immediately). Yes, I drain it regularly & replace filter well before it becomes restrictive.
    Yes, we had the ECU tuned also, primarily to reduce EGT's as those high temps frightened me intently. This totally transformed our vehicle and a huge benefit not talked about, engine braking, yes the higher boost pressure means more air to compress, better engine braking, an awesome unexpected benefit .
    I drive it with mechanical sympathy, just cause you've got it doesn't mean you have to use it.
    For ourselves, the bullbar winch fell into the initial category as well, as we live ruraly, hence animal strikes are not uncommon, Roo's don't have street smarts, unfortunately.
    Then an additional wiring harness front to rear incorporating all our perceived electrical add ins as it was much easier working on a new vehicle when all nooks & crannies are so obvious & clean totally assisting design instal.
    We haven't done the auto lock up yet, maybe into the further future along with beefed up torque converter.
    There's additional mods, but they are our personal requirements for total touring convenience, hence items for our preferred setup.

      @@TDubya811 ours was Pedders, they did absolutely the whole process, collected vehicle from dealership, installed, performed all necessary paperwork, delivered back to dealer who then registered it in my name.
      Obviously I paid the dealer for the agreed on road price of vehicle prior to them releasing it to Pedders, then paid Pedders prior to them delivering back to dealership.
      I would think there maybe dealerships now days whom may offer all this to occur in house, but that was my experience, as I wanted Pedders to do the work.
      Hope that helps.
      Oh, we also organised insurance prior to Pedders collecting from dealership just incase things went bad in the transfer, if you know what I mean, fortunately all went well.
      In-house wouldn't require this step.

    • @TDubya811
      @TDubya811 Рік тому

      Sounds great, how is the ride comfort? Got mine booked into Pedders next week. I intend to get them to fit airbags which I'll have hooked into an ARB twin with 4l reservoir set up in about a month.
      The guy at Pedders told me that there were two choices of constant load rear springs and they have quoted for 300kg set. My intention is to get the lighter springs for a better unloaded ride which will still give the 3,500kg gvm and pump the airbags when towing and loaded for touring (expect the ball weight to be around 280kg).
      Many dealers in Brissy were absolutely refusing to allow pre rego GVM upgrades for new vehicles. Eventually I found one with an order cancellation who will allow it. Not seen it yet and only paid deposit thus far. I think I just pay the balance when I come to pick up the car. I will pay Pedders directly, so don't have any dealer Markup or anything. Gvm upgrade is exempt from LCT and GST in any case I beleive. I am also gonna get bushwrapz pro PPF at about 5k for bonnet and sides, less stress when hitting the tracks with a new vehicle.

      @@TDubya811 rides great, was a tad harsh initially empty as ours was a constant load rated, not progressive as we always leave vehicle fully loaded prepared for trips, weekends or long tours. Only fridge needs topping up, then off we go. With all gear loaded, rides awesome, flexs well off-road, corners lovely and flat on road. No complaints at all.
      Didn't add airbags to ours. Personal choice that was.
      We have just done 110k in ours, shocks going fine, still hear them working the oil on recoil after all that use, totally surprised us, thought they'd be fatiguing for sure.
      Other reputable brands on other vehicles we've had wouldn't have lasted, so Pedders has truly pleased us. Hope they serve you well.
      Whilst I'm keen to keep appearances up, I do utilise as intended, so we have plenty of bush pin striping, some gouges in rear bar, and scaped side steps, yes it was always intended for off-road, beach work, outback touring, so damage is inevitable, I just accept it.
      Enjoy new truck. 😊

ECU remap and MM4X4 lockup were probably the biggest noticeable difference. ECU remap done at Diesel Tune Adelaide.👍👍.Keep it up you guys doing a great job and enjoying your travels.

    Have a look at the hpd catch can, it uses mesh to help catch the oil not a filter like the provent so it doesn't build up back pressure, I've had one on for about 6 years now and no dramas at all, I'm a mechanic and highly recommend it 👍

  • @chasintheroads9456
    @chasintheroads9456 Рік тому

    The mistake you and other people make on the 200 series is the hoop bars on bullbar and spot lights which is restricting air flow to your scoops to the intercooler

      It dosnt though, our 200 runs that cool with and without lights and bullbars it’s been the exact same temps and airflow with and without so that’s not the case
