i just started the campaign again 2 days ago this first run on my pc thought, i played it on ps4 years ago. Im suprised how well this game has aged im into it like ive never played it before i feel this game didnt get enought love. I would be really happy if theyre working on a sequel.
You’re so right about how Talion turning could have been made into a third game. No one can tell me he didn’t look bad ass as Nazgûl and it was a cool cosmetic change from playing as a purely good guy the whole time
I wish that the nemesis Forge stayed in the games ( the nemesis Forge was allowing you to import your Nemesis and Follower from Shadow of Mordor to Shadow of War )
So im just gonna mention that there is still room for a third game. I believe they have been setting up a trilogy since day one. Think about it. Talions wife sings her song in shadow of mordor and it becomes a huge plotpoint throughout game one and the start of game two. Why does that matter you ask? Because talion is headed to the halls of mandos. Imagine that instead of his wife passing on, she waited for her husband in the halls of mandos. Keep in mind celebrimbor is still alive. Eltariel has the ring. She teases another game. There is evidence that people can stay in the halls of mandos AND ALSO evidence that they can be revived and given a second chance. Mandos once heard a song so beautiful he gave a couple another chance at life. I think mandos will do a tradeoff this time. Talion gets another life with his wife (his sons passed on) but first he must finish what he started and defeat celebrimbor. That is what i think will eventually happen soon. People just dont read the books LOL
oh i like this idea/thought for another game mate! Hoping we get a 3rd game, but they're making a Wonder Woman game currently - so we won't know/see anything for some time
@invasive835 Beren and Lúthien were a very special case apart and while Ioreth's song may suggest a connection to Lúthien these characters are worlds apart. What Mandos did with them could never be repeated with Talion and Ioreth, both mortals, without interfering with Eru's will. Talion has to pass on with his family, only then will he find peace to his torment. Celebrimbor cannot be much of a threat more than Sauron after the destruction of the One. Yes the New Ring isn't destroyed but standing by the canon all of the rings of power are linked to the One ring and with it being destroyed all their powers diminish like the nine of the Nazgûls and the three elven rings. The story of Talion ends as it was portrayed in the game. Had the story been written differently and not rushed allowing a third game to bring an end to the saga it may have worked better
@@noirplays8101 yeah but this is a video game LOL..theyve already strayed far from the canon. Also it seems you didnt play the dlc where celebrimbor was literally teased as the next villain of the game. Broke the canon multiple times. If they wanna make talion a special case they can and will. like mentioned before, theyve been teasing a third game throughout especially with the dlc. If you didnt play it I'll just tell you. Eltariel still has celebrimbors ring. She says its calling to celebrimbor who escaped Barad Dur and she goes "the ring calls to you and i will follow its call" and the game ends there. keep in mind this ring is weaker than the one but stronger than the others and still capable of dominating them according to game canon. Basically works as a new master ring.
One of the things then i love about this game is the random interactions in-game like some orc talkings about weapons, someone bieng a military trainer, someone talking about life and even some orcs bieng a friendly fight with punches and with no need of cutscenes, just watching and paying attention by yourself.
I ran across an orc, that was like an Easter egg of Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. He became the greatest bodyguard I could have asked for. He was an absolute destructive unit of an orc.
Shadow of War and Mordor are not only fun games, but the combat brought back a lot of fond memories of the old LOTR games from my childhood, specifically The Two Towers and Return Of The King, but far better. Also, Shadow Of War made me cruel af to the Orcs and Trolls that betrayed me! I remember after the campaign, I let Bruz die, brought him back, shamed him, and then let him die again! Heck, I recently shamed an Orc, with the title of “The Gutless” to the point where he just says “woo woo!” 🤣🤣🤣 Nah fr, I’m as cruel as Sauron himself. 🤣🤣🤣
@@DudiReviews do it! Pulling off the executions in Shadow Of War made me feel like I was a child again playing ROTK, and pulling off the amazing combos, fighting the hordes of Mordor in the courtyard of Minas Tirith. Seriously, Monolith struck gold with their Middle-Earth games. 🙌🏻🙌🏻 Also, judging from the art style alone, you can tell that a lot of Monolith’s team were LOTR fans due to the amount of detail work for all the characters, creatures, and locations.
Im not sure if this is why you want that, but a tip for keeping your orcs is garrison all the ones you want to keep before you start a new playthrough, then once on your new playthrough you can deploy them theyll keep all their perks and stuff but theyll be leveled down to match your level at the time of deployment

Tallion's character arc from ranger defending the Black Gate, to taking Isildur's place in the Nazgul was wild. I know it's not canon, but honestly I thought it was even better than the Tolkein lore. It would have made sense for Sauron to doom Isiludur to being a Nazgul since he was the one who destroyed him in the first place, the kind of twisted revenge Sauron would absolutely do in the books.
Considering it’s my first playthrough ever, halfway complete, I’m stunned I never played previously. Stealth is excellent, fighting is NOT button mashing, and the game mechanics are uniquely enjoyable. And yes Ratbag is a great NPC.
12:34, this was created back when realtime cutscenes were not common, so the cinematics are probably pre-rendered, so not outfit swaps. Also, almost every company I've worked for that was not Sony owned, really felt it was impossible to do realtime cutscenes, until I worked on the Tomb Raider reboot at Crystal Dynamics, where they did not have this pre-conception.
On the hunt for the mindmender. At this point I’m convinced it’s a myth. The stuff of legend. Did they take out the game or am I just unlucky? For those of u unaware of this weapon it is an epic longbow. It’s primary ability is to award 30-40 focus per ranged hit. This means u can use shadow chain strike infinitely. Like u can have 0 focus and it’ll build up from 0 focus to max provided u do enough shadow chain kills. It one shots enemy grunts which makes it useful when you want to clear them out and focus on the captain. If anyone has the bow or knows a specific way to farm it I’d appreciate it if you let me know.
I believe this game would had benefitted having 3 different endings. Bright Lord ending would be Tailon, Celebrimbor, and Eltariel banishing Sauron to the lands in the east. Along with, banishing The Witch King up north to Carn Dun. Wraith lord ending would be the same ending as in the base game. Dark lord ending would be Talion and Celebrimbor dominating Sauron and becoming the Third Dark Lord of Middle Earth. I would have Akoth Slayer of the Dead in Carnan and Zogs story line trying to get revenge on Zog for resurrecting Akoth blood brother. Instead of having Zog only try and resurrect Tar-Goroth and some of Morgoth's archers, he would also try resurrecting varies creatures in Mordor from a giant kraken, to the dragon we see in Lithan, some of Sauron's werewolves from the first age, and the legendary graug from the firat game. Along with trying to resurrect Azog and Bolg from the Hobbit movie which both can be recruited into Talion army. At the end of this story line, Talion could side with Zog and betray Akoth and Carnan or side with Akoth and Carnan. Change Bruz story line were you can make him your overlord or make him your second in command. If Bruz is your overlord, all of his varies rivals with try to attack his fort and you will have to help defend it. Bruz as your second in command with help you conquer all the forts in Mordor with the help of his blood brother Baz, Daz, and Gaz. With Ratbag and Ranger, you will help them lead a goblin slave uprising against their masters. The way the goblins fight would be similar to the way the gremlins would fight in the Overlord video games, where they would overwhelm the opposing group by sheer number and collect all their armor and weapons and use them in the next fight. I would have included nine different fort in the game, one for each tribe. It was strange we never went back to the Black Gate and try to control that region. Also, Barad-dur would have been a bonus fort to capture if you decided to banish or dominate Sauron. Same with Minas Morgul being another fort that can be conquered and customized.
in regards to what you said about talions gear the story actually uses his gear and connects it to the ending where after being betrayed and unlocking necromany the item descriptions and appearence of his necromancer set suggest they are a sort of corrupted version of his original gear warped by dark magic his daggers description saying its now warped beyond recognizing its original owner similar things are written about talions necro sword and cape too

Why does your channel only have a few thousand subscribers? I'm bumping this 4-month-old video because this was absolutely excellently made my friend. Also because of the Seinfeld references. Seinfeld references always increase the quality of any video I agree with a lot of what you said here. Shadow of Mordor was the game that made me buy an Xbox One back in the day. And I thought it was every bit as awesome as I had hoped. However there was a simplicity to it that made me really enjoy it. The story wasn't that deep, but everything you did from the beginning of the game across that first map, to making your way to the end after getting to the second map and then having the entire metagame change once you get the ability to mind control enemies. It was just such a great journey. Messing around between assassinating and mind controlling different captains in saurons army was a ton of fun So seeing all of that expanded here was awesome as well, and it's still definitely the best part of the game. The Nemesis system is awesome and it's criminal that it's really only utilized in these two games. Because otherwise you are kind of forced to play a much more disjointed story that doesn't flow together as well, and you can end up feeling like you're just slogging through some of these missions because you just want a cooler upgrade or ability so you can get back to messing around with Sauron's Army and the nemesis system It's still a great third person action game. It is still a great open world game. It is still just a great game in general. But I feel like it loses itself somewhere while expanding its scope compared to the first game and overall is just a little bit of a less polished experience. Or at the very least a much more uneven experience, because it still does do everything the first game does but better, It just doesn't pace itself outside of those things as well as the first one did
Cheers for the kind words mate! Really appreciate it 🍻🍻 And agree with your points my dude - the nemesis system really tied and keeps Shadow of War together between the story plot points
I completely agree with this video's conclusion about the ending of the game. I also think that the devs made the game differently from what it could've been because they knew there wasn't going to be a sequel. So they gave us the best they could. And that's fine.
Started my 3rd or 4th playthrough a couple of days ago now that I finally have it on PC. Your video is in the background for entertainment through the first 10 story quests or so. Thank you
1:40 celebrimbor did not create the one ring, that was Sauron, celebrimbor was involved in the making of the 3 elven rings, which he imbued with good magic that made the bearer more resistant to Sauron's control.
After the main game. I wished they opened up the other locations (lore areas) on the map, filled with 100+ level orcs with loads of iron will & no chance traits. I could've continued playing it for another year.
15:37 Yeah I don’t see that happening. Don’t get me wrong that is an interesting idea, but that’s not Talion. He never wanted revenge, he wanted to protect the rest of the world from Mordor. His actual revenge was pretty much a subplot. Like yeah he wanted revenge. But not to settle the score, but because the Tower, the Hammer, and the hand of Sauron were dangerous to keep alive so he has to kill them. You can see this clear with how he handles Minas Ithil. Even though it houses the Palantir, he wasn’t set on getting it. Just saving the Gondorians there and keeping it from falling. To the point he asked Shelob for visions of the future to further help them. Talion doesn’t care about revenge, he just wants to protect his people. Celebrimbor is the one who cared from the very beginning and gas lites Talion to do anything for revenge. With that I apologize for making this an essay, and I hope you have a good day.
Really great video! Enjoyed the edits and subscribed. this game was pretty damn fun imo, the developers are clearly talented as hell and their next game will be exciting. the microtransactions mess really screwed with the perception of this game. definitely making it alot less played then it could have been. It was for the greater good I guess, a message to the gaming industry
I always wanted one final next gen update. Something to add in some toggleable features, throw in a new game + (like a proper one), and improved smoother gameplay. Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever see a third game or they ever wanted to. I loved the ending to death and had great fun with the epiloque. The fortress gameplay was one of my favorite parts and it let me go deep into it without going online. Looking forward to Monolith's wonder woman game coming up.
You sound surprised you're blowing up but you've leveled up your game quite a bit since last time I watched. your graphics are creative and well realized, memes are either unique or uniquely pitched, and your voiceover is leagues more polished with pleasant flow. Great on you, man
It’s free on Amazon Luna for sep, 2024. The third sequel where we can have a moral system would have been great. - would have loved a chain to swing around. - a cape or wings to glide around. -
I deleted my old save file recebtly and started anew, havent played since like 2018 and Im enjoying it again, i never actually completed the full campaign so i finally saw the final cutscene the other day. That idea for a third game wouldve been great sheesh.
You and me both mate. I had to re-control bruz after I broke his mind. Loved how he only talks about not wanting the fort - so I made him war chief of a fort haha
15:25 that is such an awesome idea I really wish we got that I’d love to play as a Nazgûl and slaughter men and elves almost reminiscent of the force unleashed dark side dlc
Super fun, no question. Endgame is great bcuz u can lose & regain empires, there is still active online play in 2024. Plenty to do if you've finished all missions & side quests.
Finally someone else who has the same pet peeve about the armor as I do, I do love the mismatching armor even though the designs get lazy at times as in repeating armor & weapon skins like Mystic, Slaughter, and bright Lord legendary sets having this exact same design just different colours, I wish there was a toggle where I could keep story mode armor on, meaning even if I change out my armored weapons it'll still look like I have the Ranger fit on as well as OG Urfael and Acharn. Then it changes once we become a ring Wraith. And I have the same opinion about every other game that also does this.
This is one of those games where I don’t disagree with the criticisms of it, but they also don’t sway me at all 😂 I had fun; that’s all that really matters.
What shocks me most is how non existent the modding community is with this game like someone could easily make this into a sick star wars game there's dismemberment there's force powers and your sword glows plus the graug is literally a rancor seriously someone make it happen!
My guess is the Firebird engine's coding is heavily guarded, since Warner Bros placed trademarks/copyrights/patents around the nemesis system, which is real gem in Shadow of War. But WB has done nothing with it since Shadow of War, with no rumours of a third Shadow game, nor ideas to implement the nemesis system into another game.
Redownloaded the game a few days ago out of nostalgia for the nemesis system, and this game has held up better than the Hagia Sophia. Graphics are still palatable, ai is really good (pathfinding can be buggy and captains have a hard time picking good targets in a crowd, but no complaints really.), and the powers really make you feel like an unkillable death lord. Need more games like these.
@ hey. Is there a way to change sprinting to the left joystick or to at least just tap the button. This is the one thing that I didn’t like about the Arkham games as well.
@@caseywrable not too sure why dude. I tend not to change settings in games like Arkham/shadow of war etc. I didn't mind A for sprinting and jumping as the wraith movement kinda works when you get that upgrade
Theory I found on steam forums, after repeated patches and numerous complaints about the 'jankiness' of the controls the devs have not improved it, it's intentional and served a purpose before the removal of microtransactions. That purpose was to take the fun out of the gameplay-loop as it existed in the first game, because having fun with just the simple pleasure of moving about, having a blast with the overwhelming power you could quickly obtain, would distract from the monetisation. It has to be frustrating, a hard-cap on what skill you can apply as a player, in order to nudge you towards paying to skip progression. There is no reason to skip something if you enjoy it, so that needed to go. 'Nudge theory' is a real thing; but it's not really a theory but a PR branding given to exploitative behavioural psychology which has thrived in the internet-era and it's in SoW. Now that there is no reason for the gameplay-loop to be so frustrating though, the devs have left it in for another reason rather than make the controls fluid and workable as in the first game. My guess is that either it would be too much of a hassle to do it or if it were to be done, it would expose the reason why it was that way to begin with. Monolith took plenty of flak when they adjusted the pacing of the 'end game' grind as doing so revealed it was down to lootboxes, the game needed adjusting because they were effecting gameplay. The devs are not going to create another rod for their backs even if it means leaving SoW in a state where it is considerably less fun than SoM.
i loved shadow of mordor, and i was so hyped up for shadow of war when it got announced back in 2016. I remember when people were complaining about the micro-transactions so much, they made monolith remove them. aside of that, it was simply extremely fun to me. i loved farming and running into the same orcs over and over again because they would either come back with little scratches, rebuilt, semi-corrupted or as undeads. i just loved each and every single aspect of it, even though it got a little repetitive in the epilogue. still, the nemesis system was my most favorite thing and the way they expanded it by adding, for example, the "Blood brother" mechanics made it cooler. it remains my most favorite open world action RPG and i would love to replay it again. oh and a thing i'd like to mention is that, if you played shadow of mordor before and you still have it in your memory, the game will recognize it and add the arch-nemesis that you never managed to kill (or that you killed after so many attempts) in one of the campaign's mission.
The thing about this game is that the story isn't the best, but the countless stories you can create yourself with the Nemesis system make up for it a thousand times. I found myself playing the game so much more after completing the actual main story. In my opinion, that is the main thing about the game that keeps you invested. I was taking betrayals personal and hunting down, shaming and then executing those traitors, enjoying getting my vengeance. I have rearely been so invested in a game after i finished the main story.
I agree so much for the ending, I was fully expecting a sequel, imagine running around as a nazgul talion brainwashing humans, orcs, dwarves, elves with the nemesis system being even more développe

Game honestly I'm having a lot of fun with it. It's not so simple It's stupid but it keeps you interested. Again great review great video! Keep it up man!
I actually had no idea what the nemesis system was when I purchased the game, I just knew people loved it and that the devs patented it so nobody else could use it, which, come one, then I have to try it. So when I first died to a random lowly orc and he started a whole 30 second rant about being a tark-killer and then getting to see what it is, my god was I hooked
It gets points for me for having one of my favorite diffuculty settings in Brutal mode. So much better than gravewalker, since its no longer smacking a boss 500 times to just die to an assassin that was on the other side of the camp. Rather its a high damage, fast "can I hit the boss ten times before he can get two on me?" situation. Wish more games had diffculty setting like that and cut out the damage sponge bosses fights that other higher difficulties bring.
Yes man I totally agree more games need this I basically mod every game I can into this difficulty if it's not present. Examples are Farcry games, cyberpunk etc.

As a huge lover of the middle earth games, the only thing that totally bugs me is being frame locked at 30fps on console in 2024 madness! Ive reached out to WB recently but there is no guarantee we'll ever get that patch for console.
Great video, but honestly I couldn't care less about the cut-scenes matching what our gear set currently looks like. Cut scenes imo are always boring af in most games i play, and i simply skip them. Just picked this up on steam for 6$ and it feels like a steal.
I just started playing again today.I had to take around a year off. I had gotten extremely bored with it. Loving it again so far. Started a new game and I forgot how long it takes to get the ability to start taking captains and making my army.
I just came here to say that the game is not only a great game with respect to its mechanics, but if you take the time and listen to the stories from the artifact collectibles, it’s so clear the game is such a love letter to fans of the Tolkien Universe. I am still playing daily in 2024. The developers are so knowledgeable of the lore of the early ages and the fall of numenor and the creation of the rings of power. This for me makes it a 9/10 game. I will however never let them forget the loot box / micro transactions they tried to implement and neither should you. 😅

Hoping we get a 3rd game, but they're making a Wonder Woman game currently - so we won't know/see anything for some time
@@DudiReviews yeah figures. Im active in the monolith community and i basically grew up with this franchise since childhood. Just a educated guess 👍
right on my dude @@invasive835

Not bad ideas in here mate!

in regards to what you said about talions gear the story actually uses his gear and connects it to the ending where after being betrayed and unlocking necromany the item descriptions and appearence of his necromancer set suggest they are a sort of corrupted version of his original gear warped by dark magic his daggers description saying its now warped beyond recognizing its original owner similar things are written about talions necro sword and cape too

Exactly my dude - only time will tell how that'll work
I hope someday we get a third game with how popular it is who wouldn’t want it to continue we don’t get to many games that combine super natural powers with stealth and combat
17:50 well, I think we can still get a third game with talion as a nazgul, and have us go through the events of the hobbits and LOTR films, just there would be no celimbrimbor. Just a Nazgul adventure
it'd be kinda cool - would only be LOTR moments though as Shadow of War/Mordor is after the hobbit
@@DudiReviews it could be a witch king game with the WK as the main character, or khamul, and have them also go through events in the hobbit. Make a white council boss fight. My favorite part of the sieges is that you could infiltrate your own orcs into the fortresses and then from there it makes it so easy to do the siege as theyve all betrayed their war chief
Why does your channel only have a few thousand subscribers? I'm bumping this 4-month-old video because this was absolutely excellently made my friend. Also because of the Seinfeld references. Seinfeld references always increase the quality of any video
I agree with a lot of what you said here. Messing around between assassinating and mind controlling different captains in saurons army was a ton of fun
So seeing all of that expanded here was awesome as well, and it's still definitely the best part of the game. The Nemesis system is awesome and it's criminal that it's really only utilized in these two games.
Because otherwise you are kind of forced to play a much more disjointed story that doesn't flow together as well, and you can end up feeling like you're just slogging through some of these missions because you just want a cooler upgrade or ability so you can get back to messing around with Sauron's Army and the nemesis system
It's still a great third person action game.
Really appreciate it 🍻🍻
And agree with your points my dude - the nemesis system really tied and keeps Shadow of War together between the story plot points

'Nudge theory'... it's just capitalism, dude.

i loved shadow of mordor, and i was so hyped up for shadow of war when it got announced back in 2016.
I have rearely been so invested in a game after i finished the main story.
agree my dude - seeing a favorite ork turn on you, you kinda take it personally haha - still hurt about Bruz lol

it's a pretty cool system, and loved seeing orks return constantly with scars, buffs and limbs removed
Thinking of buying it, are you still having fun?
It gets points for me for having one of my favorite diffuculty settings in Brutal mode. So much better than gravewalker, since its no longer smacking a boss 500 times to just die to an assassin that was on the other side of the camp. Rather its a high damage, fast "can I hit the boss ten times before he can get two on me?" situation. Wish more games had diffculty setting like that and cut out the damage sponge bosses fights that other higher difficulties bring.
Yes man I totally agree more games need this I basically mod every game I can into this difficulty if it's not present

Yo that Home Alone into was great... 😂
Cheers my dude🍻 I generally start all my reviews with an opening meme and I'm real proud of this one haha
As a huge lover of the middle earth games, the only thing that totally bugs me is being frame locked at 30fps on console in 2024 madness! Ive reached out to WB recently but there is no guarantee we'll ever get that patch for console.
when its above 30 frames, the hair and cape turn to cardboard
Great video, but honestly I couldn't care less about the cut-scenes matching what our gear set currently looks like. Cut scenes imo are always boring af in most games i play, and i simply skip them. Just picked this up on steam for 6$ and it feels like a steal.
Cheers my dude. $6 is a bargain
@@TheSuperSlothy read this while rewatching fellowship - it's a damn great game my dude
