Nice review BTW. Subscribed 🤘🏼
Thanks so much!
This albumis INCREDIBLE.....
No way did Soundgarden sound like anyone else.
Who made songs that sound like Fresh Tendrils, Limo Wreck,4th Of July, Head Down, etc etc......till this day.
That heavy riff rock....Those heavy riffs over almost like a hip hop beat on the drums, with Kim's complete weird playing/ coloring over that rhythm section....NO ONE sounds like Soundgarden.....and then add Hurricane Cornell blowing it down category 5 style on the mic, and blowing it down with SOUL at that,, forgt about it....This was heavy rock perfection unlike any other....
I gotta give this one a 5. One of the best rock albums ever made.
.......and Live between like 91 -95, forget about it......They were nuclear.
Agreed. :)
I like the interview on Warren Huart's "Produce Like a Pro" channel where Michael Beinhorn talks about the number of expensive Neumann microphones Cornell blew out while tracking the vocals for this album. LOL
One of the best outro songs of any album Love Is Like Suicide.
The black hole sun slander is ridiculous
o_O
The massive overplaying of BHS aside, & as long as the listener has an appreciation of *dark* music, this is a 5/5 album. Along with Badmo, it's on my all-time Top10, & still gets played thru on the regular. Sometimes, depending on mood, I'll even not skip BHS!! ;p
Do you think the album is a bit too long?
@@mattbowden1981 Nah, man.... I'm a stereotypical tight-fisted Scotsman, so if a curated body of work (as albums used to be) happens to be over an hour long, that cannot be anything other than a bonus!! ;)
The day I tried to live
Great album and I'm not really getting into that one until now. The grunge thing started getting packaged by then and I was pushing to heavier stuff. It didn't touch BMF. Bet I'm a little older than you fellas. I caught all the early Sub Pop, etc era. It's very well written though.
I respect y’all opinions on the album. I prefer badmotorfinger over superunknown but there are parts that are all timers. Hope y’all someday review Alice In Chains specifically self titled. Cheers gentlemen.
Thanks for the comment. We added Alice In Chains - self-titled to our list.
Self Titled/Tripod is so good, dark and heavy.
Smoked tea and incense?
Say no more. DUDE😂
I disagree strongly with your take on "Like Suicide." It's actually my favorite song on the album! Yeah, it's long, but it uses that time to gradually build up to an absolutely *booming* sound, like a musical thunderstorm. And then at the end you have Chris's voice ringing out from the silence, and it just pierces my very soul!
