Nice man. I have a 93 that is the same color. It also originally was a LT1/auto. Now it has a Lq4/T56. I am on Ls1tech and have a thread in the Camaro section.
Nice job on your build. Looks great. I'm doing a complete out with the old and in with the new. New I mean BMR complete adjustable suspension front to rear. I have a 383 stroker LT1 with a D1SC procharger at 15 lbs of boost. I'm still using my 4l60e automatic transmission with a transgo shift kit. I'm still doing some more work on my project 94 Trans am. The only thing that is factory is the body and interior. I'm in the process of pulling out the interior to install a 6 point Wolfe roll cage..
Hey I was wondering what you all had to do to do your swap. I have a 96 with a 3.8l that has a lot of sentimental value and would like to swap it to an LS1.
I have a build thread where you can get an idea of what needs to be done here:camaroforums.com/forum/93-02-projects-109/socoms-lt1-ls1-swap-thread-79265/
@@AnDrEw122100 Paid $2k for my 4th gen v6. I couldn't find any z28/ss within reasonable distance for anything under 15k in good condition. Considering that, I figure I've got $13k left over to build up to similar performance with a swap as well.
I have a couple of questions for you I was hoping you could answer. I spun a bearing on my bolt on LT1 and was considering putting a 5.3 LS in it instead of rebuilding the LT1 but I had just bought a Yank 3600 converter and had the 4L60e rebuilt. If I was to swap to a 5.3 LS carbureted do you know if I can still run 4L60e through the LT1 computer? I had read some where that you just need an RPM signal to the computer and a TPS for the carburetor. What does that thing run in the 1/4 compared to your bolt on LT1?
No bolt on LT is pushing 360 wheel lol or over 400 cam only. I don't regret getting away from the LT at all. The Torquehead conversion with tuning costs as much as I paid for my LS donor car
It wouldn't be worth it. If you like V8 cars buy one I strongly recommend it, V6 cars are there for gas mileage and the V8 is quite good at it. All firebirds with a V6 also look different to the V8 cars and the LS1 is amazing. My dad had a 3.4 and it was nowhere near as good as the ls1 on reliability and fuel and power and sound
Did you keep the ac? If so did the newer style dash fit right over the 93 ac box? I’m going to ls swap my 93 z28 already have k member but plan to keep ac. Thanks.
Aloha bro i have a 96 rs camaro and i just got a ls1 and wanted too all you some questions about the swap. How did your steering assembly work out? Will it all fit with the ls1 in there? Iv heard it wont but looks like you figured it out🤙
I used a LS steering rack and column since the LT rack angles closer to the engine. This car was basically gutted to a shell and 1997 interior swapped. And then I took the column out of a wrecked 2002 trans am (that I had for a parts car) and swapped it in. Super easy to bolt in.
Cool! Im doing a LM4 5.3/t56 swap in my 94 firebird and I've been scratching my head on what to do about the fuel pump. Did you convert the v6 pump assembly to lt1 pump and then add the walbro?
Did you have a problem with your hood closing? I have the same car, hood, an ls1 and the same air intake and the hood keeps hittin the air intake even after adjusting a million times.
did your fuel level gauge work ? If it works, what did you do to work? pleas help me i have same your project Trans am 95 and i swap it to ls3 and the speed cluster
I swapped steering columns since my stock wheel+column was very tired and everything was worn out. I just have to buy a different air bag with a bowtie on it instead of the Pontiac one from the Trans Am parts car I used
+awgibson93 that's great work you did there man. Wire tuck and everything. About how long start to finish did the whole job take you? I hope I run into this (not crash ☺️) on the road one day.
Thanks! I did the actual engine swap in like 3 days which included cutting for the manual conversion. And the wiring took a few more of working on it after work. Maybe like a weeks worth of work total? Waiting on parts was a factor too
awgibson93 that thing looks really amazing. what seats are you running? I hear there's a group of fbodies that meet in Laurel on Thursdays, are you one of them?

My Camaro is a daily use and i was going to modify the V6 but i found many affordable LS1 engines at the junk yard (Found affordable LS2 but the parts are expensive and i don't know if it would fit)
you kept the factory differential ? and did you replace the fuel line ? my 3.4 died and now i am planing to do a swap but i can't find a T56 so i might do an LS1 swap if i found a T56 or just do a 3800 swap instead of the shitty 3.4

sierravmax how hard was it to switch to a T56 from an auto?
Errol-Flynn Gallarde was wondering the same thing but people either didnt build it themselfs, or they never answer. Its quite annoying.

Bucks lol

Can I swap a 3.4 motor ?
really digging the front grill
93-97 body style with an LS1 in it is like a dream. I like the 93-97 front end much better than the chrysler-sebring-looking front end of 98-02.

True
Those ultra z ramair hoods are hard to find and rare. Would like to buy your if you ever get tired of it

engine bay looks killer bro
What new k-member/motor mounts did you use and does the crossmember bolt right up for the trans?
What was that stick that you pulled on by tail light
Was there anything special you had to for the cme?
Hey sorry Im kind of barely getting into cars but looking to buy a Camaro. Just to be clear if I buy a v6 I can change it too a ls1 v8 later?

Wat wiring harness you use
Did you have to change the transmission
Hey man quick question. does a 350 bolt up to the 95 v6 trans? of course I'm beefing the v6 up first but just wanted to know. thanks
If you are talking about a 3.4l trans, no. a 700r4 should.
Headlight info?
I have a 1995 that I’m going to put an ls1 into .. what did you have to do ?
Y ya have a trans am steering wheel?😂
Where u get that grill from ?
Wt kind of motor mounts did you use?

Awesome build, what fuel pump did you use and did you use the corvette filter/pressure regulator
I used a Walbro 255 pump and the vette filter/regulator. I converted the lines to -6AN though instead of the plastic ones
Cool! Im doing a LM4 5.3/t56 swap in my 94 firebird and I've been scratching my head on what to do about the fuel pump. Did you convert the v6 pump assembly to lt1 pump and then add the walbro?

Awesome thanks for the help
@@awgibson93 friend has a 97 camaro with the 3800 v6 and 5 speed , how involved would a v8 swap be how much fabrication is required ?

No, I repinned my body harness to work with the LS1 computer.
Did you have a problem with your hood closing? I have the same car, hood, an ls1 and the same air intake and the hood keeps hittin the air intake even after adjusting a million times.
Yes I had to set the hood up a hair to clear the intake. I swapped to a normal elbow style like the LT1s normally are
Is the GMMG the best exhaust for a LT1?
So this was a 3.4 then lt1 then ls1?
Precisely
+awgibson93 wow that car has been through a lot
Did you use a vented battery in the back of the car?
Yes I have a taylor vented aluminum box in the trunk
Did you use the same k member and what engine stands and mounts did you use?
I put a BMR tubular LS1 k member in the car
Thanks!😎
I can’t find this bumper nowhere somebody help !
did your fuel level gauge work ? If it works, what did you do to work? pleas help me i have same your project Trans am 95 and i swap it to ls3 and the speed cluster
The body harness does not really get modified when I swapped my car. Everything like the fuel gauge, etc works as it should.
What does the push/pull switch do?
My battery is relocated to the trunk, and per NHRA regulations it must have an external kill switch to shut power off to the car.
I was just wondering why dose it have a Pontiac steering wheel? no disrespect intended, it's a nice build I was just curious.
I swapped steering columns since my stock wheel+column was very tired and everything was worn out. I just have to buy a different air bag with a bowtie on it instead of the Pontiac one from the Trans Am parts car I used
