I had this glimpse during an episode of deep suffering when I felt like I had no escape. I refused to use alcohol and other drugs in order to escape, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise. When I had absolutely no other way to escape, I somehow stumbled on this glimpse that freedom from all this required absolutely no effort. It was right there all along and just required the subtlest of shifts in perspective. ✌️

When we’re happy and fulfilled, this is our glimpse into our nature of beingness and in essence our true selves. The mistake we make is trying to manipulate exterior circumstances to achieve this feeling. The irony is that there’s nothing to “try and achieve” because it’s who we are and is our nature. It’s so amazing the games we play to get some place in which we already are. The simplicity of it is almost laughable if it weren’t also so deceptive and painful when not seen.

To have the basic understanding of who I am NOW it is more than LIBERATION, It is PEACE. Nothing can be compare to that, nothing absolutely nothing. I will not change that for all the GOLD, money or poseccions in this world. I have tears of Joy in my eyes writing this!! when you're happy there's no desire to achieve anything else. When you're happy you're fulfilled. There's no more reason for doing anything, because you've already got what you would seek through doing anything. You've already arrived at the happiness that you seek.

    Summarising all of rupert’s teachings:
When you ask yourself the question “am i aware”...you refer to an objective-quality less experience of being aware and a thought rises “yes”. If you stay with that experience after the thought (being aware of being aware),awareness gradually ,in time ,loses its limitations and the true nature of awareness will shine as it is .This process is called self abidance. It is the path to happiness.
SELF ABIDANCE IS THE TRUE GOAL OF LIFE.

They were all the around the same age. some wanna be gangsters in high school. They actually just wanted to take this thing worth a bill and our hats lol. but yeah I seen everything. I didn't get it pointed at me, cause the one holding it just tapped the door and I knew I had to open it. It was crazy though and I'm sure it was much more crazy for my close friend. Incredible. We are just conscious awareness, veiling itself for the purpose of experiencing this physical platform. And awareness by turning our attention to what "I am" really means (being aware) returns us to true happiness (the knowing of our true being). And that the false self is merely trying to reconnect by having all of these heightened physical experiences in order to fill the void it feels? Thank you for this insight, what a crazy ride life is!! What a transcending experience!

This is easily the most effective lecture I’ve heard Rupert Spira give, and easily the one that elicits a sense of pause; what he’s saying is exactly right. How do you reconcile that? I’m still seeking.

Trigger of Happiness is very important so as not to add more unhappiness because of it. That’s what religious do’s and don’ts are. The beauty of Direct path is that it manifests happiness without external triggers, avoiding negative side effects and the dependencies they may have. Exceptions are, surrender or knowledge help from a Guru as Divine triggers, if the right one.
Mr. Spira is just Awesome gift to the seekers of Happiness.

This is clear. Simple. Universal. It’s very hard to do and remember without first building the habit that breaks the illusory self. To me it’s daily work where sometimes I feel I’m getting ahead and really grasping it. So many other times it’s some version of its opposite. I wonder what would it be like (my experience that is) with just being happy in perpetuity?

The purpose of life is to grow. Consciousness/source/creative life has no desire or need to be happy. An individual may desire to be happy but life needs to grow in order to live so the purpose of each individual life is to learn how to grow under different circumstances and pass on that lived knowledge to life itself. Life has learned how to live by continually growing and adapting.

WoW...As Rupert expressed previously, the suffix - 'ness' - means the presence of, therefore, happiness simply is the presence of being happy which is our essential nature, which is the goal or purpose of life...Great Video...Thanks for posting...

He's so right. Even when crushing an enemy on the Playstation in "God Of War" or any other game, there is this slight letting go. I've done it! :) And then the seperate self starts up again.

I am not as awe inspired as everyone else listening to this. sure he has a soothing voice, but most of it is superfluous to me... maybe I am unenlightened.
I think it more about dopamine... thats why people plunge themselves into near death experiences.

Great. He got the ability to translate our deeper understanding of the cosmic event and the event of our being in this through words which I always assumed to be a highly difficult task. Like making a blind man understand the colors of flowers
