When we’re happy and fulfilled, this is our glimpse into our nature of beingness and in essence our true selves. The mistake we make is trying to manipulate exterior circumstances to achieve this feeling. The irony is that there’s nothing to “try and achieve” because it’s who we are and is our nature. It’s so amazing the games we play to get some place in which we already are. The simplicity of it is almost laughable if it weren’t also so deceptive and painful when not seen.

    Summarising all of rupert’s teachings:
When you ask yourself the question “am i aware”...you refer to an objective-quality less experience of being aware and a thought rises “yes”. If you stay with that experience after the thought (being aware of being aware),awareness gradually ,in time ,loses its limitations and the true nature of awareness will shine as it is .This process is called self abidance. It is the path to happiness.

I have just found Rupet. I love that new feeling of learning from someone, when you feel that they are talking another language and that something about them kind of frustrates / irritates you - only to realise that it is showing you something about yourself. I mean this kindly, with reflectiveness and honesty. I'll keep learning. Thank you.

When he said that when you are happy, you don't have any purpose or goal you want to achieve anymore. That's true logic. That's why you cannot say "what is the purpose after you are happy?" Because once you become happy, there's nothing left to do anymore!

I'm wondering what you make of this: I feel there is one thing missing here, and that is the role of creativity in the goal of life. What happens when you receive a spontaneous inspiration to create something? When you spend time simply being in that field of awareness, why do you then come into a more direct relationship with what might be called your “inner voice”, meaning, an urge to create and expand that is specific to your limited form? The more you live in contact with your deeper self, the more you hear the call to write, garden, play music, start a company, make clothes. It is true the creative urge is you trying to reconnect to the whole, but I think it is also core to your true goal of life, and it is just as important as simply sitting in the “I”. But the question is… why? What is God doing?
Why are we spun into these limited, veiled versions of the deeper self, a seemingly centered specificity? When you go to that experience of the “I”, it becomes clear that the world of thoughts forms and feelings is a constantly rolling happening. There is no peace there, just movement, and it stands in stark contrast to the field of awareness within which it happens. It’s like the field of awareness is a glass table, and the thought forms and feelings are so many steel balls just rolling around bouncing off each other. It’s funny how a lot of spiritual teachers say to just be in the “moment”, as though you could freeze life, but in truth, there is no moment, it’s a constant stretching, reaching, shifting burbling doing. I like to think of Being, as not just the field of awareness, but as being this limited body with it’s thoughts feelings, and living in the world of forms, within this larger awareness. And Being is not inherently peaceful. But it does have an estatic promise of fulfillment. And I think it is this fulfillment that is the true goal of life.
What is beautiful about this limited self, is the infinitely specific perfection of any given moment that will only happen in that way for you at that moment. It’s like a perfect painting that disappears every moment. The total set of thoughts feelings and forms in front of you could never have happened, and will never happen again, and you were given this form to give it the formality of occurring. It feels like an amazing show put on just for you. And so why are we here doing this?
It’s almost as if the universal awareness were doing this as a giant art project. A constant expansion into new forms. It is the universe expanding itself constantly into greater complexity, and you are a part of this play. What doesn’t change is the happening, the constant expansion, and the field within which it occurs. And so this is why, at the simplest level of self-help, you are told to “find your voice”, that each act not come from a place of fear or lack, but from your innate creative urge.
It seems as though the universe never used to be this complex. You can feel this with every desire to create (expand), and with the freshness of each moment. Presumably, there were just a few essential elements at one point, that expanded into the full periodic table, turned into molecules, turned into planets and stars, turned into planets, became life, became history, became art, became you, and here you are, continuing this expansion every time you take in the new forms that play through you with each moment.
And so when you create something, you are breaking new ground in this complexity. This is why it feels like it isn’t really you creating it. When you write the perfect song, it sounds as though it should have been written before. This is because you are expanding the script of what is possible. You are doing your duty.
And so, yes, the true goal of life is happiness. And you have happiness right there. However; your job is to live in this world. And if you live in this world, you will receive the call: create. And you will find fulfillment in this creation. Because by creating, you are the purest point of expansion of this field of awareness (of god).

Infinite awareness ~ happiness, peace, love is our true nature. It is always present in the finite self (it’s omnipresent) and yes it gets covered over by ‘life‘s experiences’….. we are constantly trying to get back to it.

The same with WE ARE, the only can say WE and "that what we are " (for example: WE happy, in latin grammatical case Instrumental or some adjective form). Very interesting :)

This is clear. Simple. Universal. It’s very hard to do and remember without first building the habit that breaks the illusory self. To me it’s daily work where sometimes I feel I’m getting ahead and really grasping it. So many other times it’s some version of its opposite. I wonder what would it be like (my experience that is) with just being happy in perpetuity?

The purpose of life is to grow. Consciousness/source/creative life has no desire or need to be happy. An individual may desire to be happy but life needs to grow in order to live so the purpose of each individual life is to learn how to grow under different circumstances and pass on that lived knowledge to life itself. Life has learned how to live by continually growing and adapting.
