Cats need to be in the centre of attention. I had to do a virtual tour of the house to get a moving estimate, my cat was in every piece of it, going in and out of closets, posing on furniture... The dress will be stunning as usual, lol!
Oh my gosh, I just opened youtube after getting my little girl to bed and this pops up. I clicked SO FAST lol. I have been planning my own 18th century pastoral fanciful dress!!! Less than 2 minutes into the video and I am STOKED lol
OMG, how great your dark green shirt suits you !😍 I love your Marie-Antoinette project, but one day, you must make yourself a historical gown in this fabric ! May be a dark green amazon costume with a top hat ? Or a gorgeous crinoline ball dress ...
I just played the "did I transfer my changes to the pattern" game... making a hobbity lace up vest with my princess seam bodice block from stash fabricthat could have made a dress but instead it's going to be a shirt and vest. I love how your bodice is coming along!!
Always happy to see Dora. 😻 I'm interested to see how this one comes together. It feels kind of Little Bo Peep to me, but that's necessarily a bad thing. If you ever want to repurpose it for that, just slap on a bonnet and carry a shepherd's crook, and you're all set. 😁
That lack of clean warp lines on the fabric can be remedied by tentering, and is supposed to be done by the manufacturer! After fabric is woven it's stretched out super taught on tenterhooks in a big frame (hence those tiny holes in the selvedge of fabric) which is supposed to straighten out the warp and weft.
Hancock Fabrics....memory unlocked! still kicking myself for not hitting them up when everything was on clearance before they closed! also, loving the concept and how this is turning out so far! cannot wait for the final look!
Wow, I miss Hancock! I still have my challis dresses and black bridal satin cape with fabric I bought there. Now the only fabric stores close to me are JoAnn's. (I don't count Hobby Lobby because I refuse to shop there.) I'm glad there are nice places online where I can get fabric. Dora and Lion are so cute.
I wonder who else watches videos with this fabric or that and goes, Heeeeey, I have some that looks just like thaaaat! I have some fabric that looks just like the green. I never knew what to do with it . . . maybe getting an idea, I definitely need to see how much of it I have
I just bought a brother overlock machine. One of the ways they recommended to thread the machine was to tie the new colors onto the old color thread and pull it through the machine until it's past your needles.
I love this design! It's so damn pretty! Very springtimey! I have scavanged a child's dress last year that has an adorable flower print and little lace accent and I want to pick it apart and rearrange it into a kind of historybounding open-robe-inspired skirt or dress (depending on whether I find matching fabric to make a bodice for it that fits me). And I also thought that I might try and do a Walk Away Dress Meets 18th Century project out of other old clothing that doesn't fit me anymore. Sooo, I'm going to try my luck with pseudo-18th-century in the mid future. Gonna do my own pastoral cottagecore thing. Eat your heart out, Marie Antoinette!
This project looks like it'll be so much fun to make/wear. Love the stash fabrics you're using. Can't wait to see if you were able to make it in time for the cherry blossoms. 🌸🤞 (They're in full bloom now where I am)
Yeah, I'm a little nervous I'm not going to make it, especially after the windstorm we had today! But at the same time, I know a bunch of trees haven't even started blooming, so I'm hoping for a second wave!
Awsome... this style looks Good on evry damn shape.. Glad more larger women find more joy in old fashions and look amazing... all clothing during that time is adjustible.. wish modern fashion was more inclusive and fit all shapes... love hand made clothing
Necklines of the period were super wide and low, but I find that a) then my chemise shows all over the place, and b) I'm just not comfortable with that open of a neckline.
Lol 😂. Cats rule our lives. They know in their DNA they were once worshipped as gods, and they’ll never let us forget it. I, for one, have no objection ❤

So, while Dora was making her presence known, my cat was pawing my screen trying to say "hi" to her 😻
Aww cute!
That is cute
I don't know what it is, but I just love pink and green together! That material is so springy, I love it. It's going to look fabulous.
Oh Dora just cracked me up. You know a project needs a cat scan (approval) 😂🐈🐈🐈
😻 Dora is just giving her approval of the drawing 😉 she’s so sweet 😘 dress is looking good 👍🏻
A cat is _NEVER_ in the way. It's exactly where it intends to be.

I feel like that's like when people are captured on Google maps. Your cat needed to be preserved for posterity. Lol. And thanks!
See you at Le Petit Trianon ❤❤
Matching the points is such a tricky thing. You always make it work! I would not be a fan of pins either.

Thanks! I do have my dark green winter bustle dress!
Dora is so photogenic!
Oh Hancock fabrics and Fabricland. I so miss Fabricland. Can’t wait to see your project!

It's looking pretty good so far. Enjoyed Dora making her presence known as she inspected your work and wanted attention.
OMG, I love this, the more frou-frou the better!

Haven't thought of Hancock Fabrics for a long time. I really liked our local store when open. Looks like another grand project/dress in the making! 🤗

Dora and Lion are so cute.
Woot Woot! I love it when you start new projects at the same time as I am! I love coincidence :) So excited for this bad boy.
I'm absolutely in love with this style 😍😍

Personally, I find that that often doesn't work

I just know this is going to be my favourite dress you've ever made. I love the fabric combination and the inspiration.

You got a lot done. Don’t be so hard on yourself!! The green fabric is lovely and everything thing looks wonderful!
Ankles?!! Quelle Scandal! 😱😁 Fabrics are lovely, see you next time!

Sounds like a fun project!
When you were showing the fabric, your camera kept going out of focus
Dora is like my cat sitting on my notebook maybe because cats like art's 😂
I think the stripe would look good under lacing, huh?
Honestly, I think it would be too distracting. That's why I'm doing the ruched voile instead.
@@LadyRebeccaFashions gotcha! It's looking beautiful
I wonder if ... Isn't there too much green fabric on the shoulders ? The neckline seems to me very different from the original.
Necklines of the period were super wide and low, but I find that a) then my chemise shows all over the place, and b) I'm just not comfortable with that open of a neckline.
Visible ankles were normal in the era among working class, right?
They were actually normal among everyone in that era!
I'm working on my 1780s stays!
I mean who could resist a super flooffy apron?
Cats never care if they're in the way. With a cat it's their way or the highway.
