Have your hubby apply for TSA at an airport near you. Its a Federal "foot in the door" job that starts at over $25/hr and he would get credit for the years he was in the military and Vet preference. They are BEGGING for people. The benefits are outstanding and you get full pension at 20 years, including free medical (you only pay your portion and the government pays their portion of the cost forever) which is really the golden ticket. After a year, he can transfer anywhere within the federal government or stay in Dept of Defense in a different or supervisory/management position. Its union too, so no working on your day off or extra hours without pay.
I love your videos & know you touch on different topics. Some ideas? Favourite books, a book review, family meal plan, what's in my purse?, Count all items in the home. Some of these are quick popular & may help your algorithm. Whatever you post, I will watch.
Having no debt is a huge lifestyle saver! We’re working on becoming debt free again. 🙈 Once we are it will free up $865/mo and then we can make huge progress on our goals.
It’s totally worth it. The benifits have been amazing but with that comes with the long hours, deployments etc. never thought we’d see the end of the tunnel but here we. Looking forward to what you all decide about returning to active duty.
I think you’re going to see fantastic growth- I love your channel and you combine 2 of my favourite ideas. Minimalist living and Frugality. Whenever you post I always watch, and I frequently binge. Your home tours, the what I own videos are really inspiring. I go back to your old videos anyway but I will binge watch. Put up some playlists- use your old videos- they’re really good. And they make it easier to binge on ❤ Topics- frugal living, grocery shopping strategies when on a low carb lifestyle, enjoying life on a strict budget, how you got into minimal living, homeschooling and staying minimal. ❤
I’m going to watch all your videos- I am a newer subscriber to your channel and have not watched all your content, yet. My husband is retiring after 20 years of service in the marine corps. We are a family of seven, five still home homeschooling. My husband had an interview yesterday on base for HVAC. I realize your situation is different from mine. Being debt free is a huge factor in living off minimum wage. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for you all and I’ll be praying for your husband’s future job opportunities.
He is looking at going back active duty for his remaining four years to get to retirement. He ended up making rank in the reserves, so going back active is in the works! Thanks for being here! 🤍
I was watching a video of yours from two years ago and you said you were going to move to a one bedroom. How does that work for a family of five? We are trying to find a one or two bedroom with a family of five and the most money we could save and actually live comfortable would be if we rented a one bedroom. Im guessing adults in the living room and the kids share the bedroom?? Would love tips for this kind of small minimalist living.
I don’t remember saying that, but maybe I did.😅 Where we live we wouldn’t be able to rent a 1 bedroom with 5 people. Nowhere will allow it. The smallest apartment we can rent is a 2 bedroom - which we are currently in. Our two older girls share a room and the 1 year old sleeps in the master. Currently she won’t sleep well if my husband and I are in there with her so we often sleep out in our living room on a foldable Japanese futon mattress. 3 bedrooms would be more ideal, but it’s totally worth the cost savings to be a little inconvenienced.
I would love to have no car one day. But where we live in the Midwest has terrible public transportation so any job would require a vehicle. Monthly we need about $2,600 to survive. Anything over that we can save.

Sorry to tell you this, but no company ever really cares about its employees.
