Do you know what the durability is with only nickel plating layer?
Have you played any of the clubs you plate?

It's tough. Guns are nickel plated too, and they're quite durable. (leave it to an American to make a gun analogy). It's not as durable as chrome, but for DIY it's good. The best part is, you can always re-do it if you damage it.
This is really easy stuff to do.
